Welcome! Whether you are a parent or guardian, you want your child to have a loving, caring, wholesome environment in which to play and learn. We understand the need to provide quality child care at a reasonable price and are excited to offer this service to the NIST community. 

We offer options for full-time or part-time child care, kindergarten, before and after school care, and summer camp.

Our mission is to encourage and promote the total social, physical, emotional, and academic development of each child in a safe, nurturing and supportive learning environment.  All NIST employees, NIST Associates and other federal government employees with children or grandchildren ages 6 weeks-5th grade (e.g. Summer Camp and Before/After School Care) are eligible to enroll their children in the Center.

This Center is an equal opportunity provider. We believe that finances should not prevent you from placing your little one in our care and scholarship assistance is available to qualifying families. Funds received through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) are used for our “scholarship” program that provides tuition assistance critical to insuring that the CCC is financially accessible to all of the NIST community. CFC #32392

News

Fall News

  • The CCC is offering School-Age care (K through 5th grades) 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to support our community! The CCC will be supporting the children with the MCPS virtual learning during school hours of 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.. Outdoor and enrichment activities will be offered as well.  

  • The NIST Child Care Center has a few immediate openings for pre-school and in-person Kindergarten for the 2020-2021 school year! Please contact nistchld [at] nist.gov for availability and enrollment. NIST, other federal, and non-federal families may enroll. For non-NIST families, U.S. citizenship or U.S. permanent resident status is required for site access. 

  • Children 5 and older are required to wear masks in all indoor spaces, and outdoors when social distancing of at least 6 ft apart cannot be adhered to. Please have your child wear the mask and bring a few spare masks in case a change is needed. 

  • The NIST CCC’s current public health emergency operating hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
  • Please review and adhere to the center’s public health protocols in order to keep our community of staff and families as safe as possible. 
  • For weather / emergency updates, please review our weather and emergency status policy and register for NIST site-wide emergency notification via email and / or text.  
  • Access to CCC Menus and Calendar can be found on the Parents Site.
