Nancy’s Day Care Center

If you have childcare needs and desire a loving, and nurturing, environment for your child Nancy @ NANCY’S DAYCARE CENTER is the provider that you want.
I met Nancy when I was pregnant with my daughter. I’m a ER nurse and she was in the ER with a child from her daycare who was being treated for anasthma attack. I originally assumed the child was her own, due to her loving, caring, and attentive attention to the girl. I knew that I wanted my daughter in a daycare like Nancy’s. Prior to my delivery my husband and I toured the daycare and interviewed Nancy’s. The daycare was awesome, clean, bright, cheerful and inviting. Due to demographics ( we lived in Lake Ridge, worked in DC) we initially decided to go with a nanny closer to home. The nanny was not as responsible as I wanted ( on several occasions she left my infant daughter with her teenage daughter ). When my daughter was 8 months old, we found ourselves looking for different daycare options. We interviewed over 10 providers, none met our expectations the way Nancy had. So when my daughter was 9 months old we enrolled her at Nancy’s Daycare Center although it was demographically out of the way. This was the BEST decision we every made. My daughter immediately took to Nancy. My soul was satisfied.
Nancy is a LIFE SAVER!!! At 11 months old, 2 weeks before her 1st birthday my daughter stopped breathing, went into respiratory arrest while at the daycare. Because of Nancy’s attentiveness, quick thinking, calmness and CPR training. My babygirl is alive today. The respiratory arrest lead to a stroke which has left her with mild cerebral palsy and a TBI. While in the hospital Nancy & John visited and prayed with us and our family many times. After and extended hospital and rehab stay my daughter returned (at 16 months old ) to Nancy’s were she continued to grow, learn and thrive until kindergarten. “But God”.
If she hadn’t been in Nancy’s care on that day, our story could have been different.
I would highly recommend Nancy’s Daycare!!!…

There are four different rate packages based on the hours of care needed for your child per week. Please inquire for these numbers.

AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Springfield KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Participating Child Care Aware Center

KinderCare partners with Child Care Aware® of America to offer fee assistance for
Active Duty military families and flexible support to fit their needs when care at a Child
Development Center on the installation is not available.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • As a parent searching for a daycare center is huge.. My daughter started in the toddler room and is almost in the discovery preschool room. I have watched her grow so much and learn new things every day. The staff here are great. As a child I attended the same Kindercare so it’s great to see such a wonderful staff team and all the smiling faces you see as you walk in. I would recommend this center to anyone who was looking for one near by!

    Kim M. – KinderCare Parent
  • My two sons, now in the discovery preschool classroom and prekindergarten classroom, have attended this KinderCare since they were each infants. The teachers quickly became like family to our children. Many of the students in my son’s infant class are in his current class, which speaks volumes for this center.<br /> <br /> More specifically, the care they show is great. My two-year-old who is very active and daring has many food allergies and skin conditions, so the care and trust I have with them caring for his allergies and conditions are unmatched. &nbsp; As an elementary school teacher, I want to ensure that my four- year-old is as ready as he can be for kindergarten next year. He is loving the preschool program and learning how to write his letters and numbers while becoming more curious and engaged than ever!<br /> <br /> We are lucky to have been blessed with such amazing teachers and staff at this center!

    Hoda – KinderCare Parent
  • We are so pleased with the patience, warmth and experience of the teachers. My children love coming each day and have learned so much both in the classroom and in the enrichment program. Management is always available and receptive to concerns and questions. We highly recommend this center.

    Michael J. – KinderCare Parent
  • After relocating to this area from the south, we looked at several day care centers for our then two-year-old son. We were welcomed with smiles and open arms and our son felt very safe in a very new environment. From age two until now at age five, our son has grown into a very kind, smart, respectful boy and much of his personality and character is due to the teachers and directors at this center.<br /> Communication is key in our family and we are very fortunate that this center has strong communication. Whether your child has special dietary needs or any other “special needs”, all of the teachers we have come across at this center truly care about the development of not only our son, but all children, and take the time to learn about each child.<br /> We are thankful to have found this center as we know our son is being enriched by all staff members.

    Dori L. – KinderCare Parent
  • Finding a good child care situation is one of the biggest challenges for parents, and we feel so lucky to have found this KinderCare. Our daughter started at three months, and is still here now as a three-year-old. When we had our son a year ago, we didn’t hesitate to bring him here as well. The teachers in every room are fantastic, and the managers are top-notch as well. Our kids are very well taken care of, and the staff members always take the time to speak with us, tell us how the kids are doing, and answer our questions. The best part of my day is when I pick up the kids, because they are always so happy with smiles on their faces. I’d recommend this KinderCare to anyone!

    Kate C. – KinderCare Parent
  • Leaving one’s baby with a stranger is no small emotional feat. To me, it is really the largest greatest amount of trust one can place in another person. But from the day I have met the ladies of KinderCare, I have nothing but the utmost respect for the professionalism and compassion that they bring to their positions. They are a credit to the field of baby care and I am lucky to have found such an amazing group of loving, knowledgeable, capable women to care for my most precious babies.

About Daycares in Springfield VA

Springfield is a residential community in Fairfax County, Virginia. Quality child care and early education are available in one of the 188 daycare and preschool programs in Springfield, VA. While it’s more affordable than other nearby towns like Alexandria or Arlington, the average child care price in Springfield is quite high, up to $16,380 per year for full-time infant care in a center. Daycare rates for older children decrease with an annual cost of $9,100 for 4-year-old preschoolers (full-time care in a center). Professional child care providers provide age-appropriate early learning activities and a safe environment, which are crucial in the first five years of a child’s life. Early childhood educators implement well-planned activities with a long-term positive effect on the way children think, learn, and in the future success of a child. In Springfield, VA, child care facilities caring for up to four children operate with Fairfax County Permit, and larger daycares with more than four kids must have a State License. Those regulations ensure that caregivers commit to the welfare, health, and development of children in their care. Daycares and preschools are inspected to ensure the implementation of legal requirements so that parents can have peace of mind while they are away from their children.
Springfield has a total of 175 home-based daycares, including 97 with a Fairfax County Permit, and 78 State Licensed Family Day Homes. There are also 13 State Licensed Child Day Centers. The average cost of infant care is $260 per week for in-home daycares compared to $315 per week in daycare centers. Parents spend less for older children with a weekly cost of $230 in home-based programs and $175 in centers.
Regulated child care facilities provide children with ample space to learn and play and offer a safe environment. Providers, assistants, and substitutes, as well as all adults with access to the facility, undergo thorough background checks. They must also pass health screenings to ensure that they are physically capable of handling children safely on a day-to-day basis. They also satisfy educational requirements and training, which vary based on each position. Those credentials typically have a positive impact on the quality of care and early education for children.
There are child care and preschool programs that cater to different preferences, according to lifestyles, beliefs, and specific needs. Springfield has twenty before and after school care programs that serve families during non-traditional hours. More than half of the 30,000 residents speak a foreign language, including Spanish and various Asian languages. Thirteen language immersion or bilingual daycares support the diverse community where children can learn a foreign language. These bilingual child care programs can also help children learn about other cultures and the world around them through stories, music, arts, dance, and many other fun activities. Health and allergies are another concern that parents may consider when choosing a daycare. Nineteen peanut-free daycares have specialized training in serving proper food for children with an allergic reaction to peanuts or food containing peanuts.
There are various assistance programs to help low-income families afford safe and quality child care. Those include the Fairfax County Office for Children’s Child Care Assistance & Referral (CCAR) and the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Program from the Virginia Department of Social Services. Twenty facilities in Springfield accept government subsidies.

The second Martinsville High School building was completed in 1939 on Cleveland Avenue and was in use until the new building was completed at the end of 1960s. The last graduation class in the old building was in 1968.

Margaret Shumate Hadden, class of 1941, often talked about her time in the old house. [3] “In high school I took the usual courses in English, history, mathematics, Latin, home economics, chemistry and many other subjects. [4]

One of the notable features of the second high school building was a large fire escape in the shape of a pipe, inside which were round and spiral slides. During fire drills, students from the upper floors climbed in and then descended to the lower exit. The fire escape has also been used in numerous student challenges and pranks.

The original Martinsville High School building was started in 1871. Dr. Ruffner was the first superintendent of schools in Henry County and the first high school was named after him as “Ruffner Institute” until 1904 when the school was rebuilt. called Martinsville High School. [5] The graduating class of 1900 was called Mawahi, short for Martinsville High School. [6]

Albert Harris High School

The Reverend Albert Harris, a Methodist minister, was influential in establishing a separate high school for black students in Martinsville at 1917 year. The high school, known as the Martinsville Prep School, became the Rosenwald School in 1920 when a charitable grant from Julius Rosenwald matched local property taxes and donations from the African American community. In 1945, the school was renamed in honor of Reverend Albert Harris. “In 1958, the original building was demolished and replaced by Albert Harris High School. When the Martinsville schools merged in 1968, the former high school building became the elementary school. [7]

My teaching career began in August 1948 at Albert Harris High School in Martinsville, teaching health and physical education for boys and girls, believe it or not, during that first year. In addition, I led coaching football and basketball teams. for boys and girls for two years, baseball for the entire period and driver training for students and adults. In 1959, I received a master’s degree in management from Springfield College in Springfield, Massachusetts. From 19From 64 to 1968 I was Associate Principal at Albert Harris High School. From 1968 to 1974 I was the vice principal at Martinsville Junior High School. From 1974 to 1980 I was principal of Martinsville High School, retired with 16 years in the classroom and 16 years in high school administration. [8]

In 2013, Martinsville completed a $9 million renovation with television studios, 21st century science labs, a simulated hospital ward, and a remodeled cafeteria. [9]

    How to find a job?

Strategies for finding a job in the USA are different: from searching with “feet” to recruiting services. But the most effective for citizens of the CIS: Ukrainians, Kyrgyz, Tajiks , who immigrated to the United States is advertising on specialized sites such as BAZAR.club.

Three advantages of job search for immigrants on BAZAR.club:

    • Large database of ads.

For US foreigners with poor knowledge of English, hundreds of offers from compatriots are available. Each company, when publishing ads, indicates which employees are required, the conditions of the vacancy and how to contact the employer.

All ads are moderated before being published on the site.

    • Expanded choice of professions.

You can find vacancies in any of 21 categories: auto repair, medicine, cable workers, construction, education, seasonal (for example, for the summer) and others. Also, when searching, we recommend that you indicate your requirements for the vacancy: without knowledge of the language, without education, without experience, with accommodation or a highly paid job.

    • Jobs in any state.

The most popular cities for applicants are Chicago, Boston, New York, Los Angeles and Miami.

Looking for a job or employee?

    • Applicant

Create a free ad on BAZAR.club. Be sure to start the publication with the phrase “Looking for a job”, then your experience and, if possible, reviews (recommendations) of your employers, knowledge of languages, education, professional and other skills.

    • Employer

How to effectively post a vacancy, we described in detail in our article.

Important! What the employer should remember: do not forget to indicate in the vacancy the word “Salary: …” and the specific amount that you offer to the future employee.

Work in the USA: work visas VS. tour visa

How to find a job in America on a tourist visa? This question is asked by immigrants who remained in the United States in the status of illegal immigrants. Therefore, we recommend using the services of an immigration lawyer.

If you are immigrating to the United States on a work visa, then subscribe to the email newsletter of vacancies so as not to miss the latest offers from employers.

Well, remember that a highly paid job in America is waiting at BAZAR.club!

There are three ways to help both new immigrants and long-term residents of the US find work quickly in the country.

⇒American and Russian speaking specialized sites.

American job markets are suitable for immigrants who are fluent in English, have education and work experience. Popular search resources include Indeed, Monster, ZipRecruiter, and LindedIn.

Russian-language message boards in the US, like BAZAR.club, are suitable for people who have recently moved to America and know English at the “Hello/Yes/Not” level.

    ⇒Thematic groups in social networks.

A lot of applicants apply to groups in Telegram and Facebook. These communities increase your chances of finding a good position and help you get support, useful advice from members who have already gone through all the stages of a job search.

    ⇒ Through recruitment agencies.

Recruiters or headhunters are widespread in the USA. They professionally and precisely look for suitable candidates. Companies enter into an agreement with recruiters to help find employees for a fee (sometimes very substantial). As a rule, these are “narrow specialists” – for example, in biotechnology, IT, etc., so they recruit their base of applicants for the future, and this is a great opportunity for strategic mutually beneficial cooperation.

Yes, it is possible. To search, use Russian-language bulletin boards in the US, such as BAZAR.club. All ads in the bazar job directory that do not require knowledge of English from future employees have a special designation – “without knowledge of the language” .

You can also find current offers with basic English in Facebook groups and Telegram channels.

Yes, you do. If you want to find a job in an American company and earn as an average American and above.

However, in practice, many new immigrants do not have the necessary knowledge and skills. Therefore, they begin to work in immigrant professions. Over time, they get an education, improve their language, polish their resumes and start a career in large companies in the country.

Green Card allows you to legally live and work in the USA. Therefore, to search for a job, use simple and proven methods: sites with job offers (like BAZAR.club or Indeed), groups on social networks (for example, the telegram channel “Jobs in the USA”), staffing agencies and recruiters.

Depending on your qualifications and language proficiency, you can find a job in a Russian-speaking or American company.

The Russian-speaking company hires candidates who have:

    • basic English (or no command of the language at all),
    • legal status in the country (in some situations, employers are willing to hire illegal immigrants),
    • no work experience,
    • without a U.S. education or a validated degree from another country’s university in the United States.

US company applicants are immigrants who are fluent in English and have legal status in the country. These applicants receive a confirmed diploma (passed the evaluation process) + additional qualification in America.

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average or median salary for a 40-hour work week in the country becomes $52,052 per year. This figure is the most general, and data is also taken into account in the context of races, qualifications, age and gender of employees.

The most in-demand professions in the US are the lowest paid. This is mainly intensive work, which local residents are reluctant to do. Therefore, these positions are often occupied by immigrants.

Often this job is included in the top selection of vacancies for Russians in the USA: junior medical and nursing staff (nurses, orderlies), nannies (babysitters), fast food workers, workers in catering, kitchens, production shops (dishwashers, purveyors and etc. ), cleaners (cleaners).

    Coding method

Postal Codes is a postal code system used by the United States Postal Service (USPS) since 1963. The term ZIP, short for Zone Improvement Plan, is properly capitalized and was chosen to suggest that mail travels more efficiently, and therefore faster, when senders use a code in a postal address. The basic format consists of five numeric digits.

The ZIP+4 code system, introduced in 1983, added four digits to the end of the old five-digit codes. The new postcode system helps to determine a more precise location than the old one. The term zip code was originally registered as a service mark (a type of trademark) by the United States Postal Service, but its registration expired on 1997 year. for example: 2 2 1 6 2 – 1 0 1 0.

The first three digits indicate the delivery area or processing and delivery center, the next two digits indicate the post office or delivery department, the two digits after “-” indicate the sector, the last two digits indicate segment. 100 best American cities to live, work and in general

The last year has made serious adjustments to the concept of a comfortable city to live in. Technological and culture is not enough, and high population density is now awe, not delight. The Best Cities portal studied the data to understand which cities in the United States are the best. Analysts’ findings are useful for real estate investors, potential immigrants and just tourists.

    Rules of unnatural selection

For the most objective assessment, the authors of the study identified six criteria by which cities were evaluated.

    • Location. This includes public safety, weather and climate, natural attractions and greenery in general. Parks are especially attractive in conditions of distancing.
    • Product. Here we are talking about what the city offers residents and visitors: the number of destinations from local airports, museums and monuments, the level of universities and local sports teams (this is important for Americans).
    • The cultural program. Everything is simple here: where to eat, where to dance, where to spend money.
    • People. The criterion is based on the development of human capital at the local level – the size of the labor force and the level of education of the population.
    • Development. This is an interesting item because it includes the number of offices of Fortune 500 companies, the unemployment rate, real estate prices and the average household income. All this, as the authors believe, gives the potential for the development of the city.
    • Promo. This is the most modern point, from which the spirit of the 21st century is blowing: the number of requests and issuances of information about the city on Google, check-ins in the city on Facebook, reviews on TripAdvisor, hashtags on Instagram. A strong brand also affects the success of the city and its inhabitants.

In addition to statistical data, the authors studied public opinion among local residents and tourists. The result of a thorough analysis was a list of 100 cities in the country (there are about 30 thousand of them in the United States). We’ll talk about the best, because no one likes a loser.

    First place.

    New York, NY

An unexpected result amid news of the city’s handling of the pandemic. The position is secured by the climate and active social life: by these criteria, New York immediately came out on top.

However, researchers admit that the last 18 months have not affected the city in the best way: the metropolis was the leader in the number of infected and the increase in deaths from coronavirus, the murder rate during the pandemic jumped by 45%, shootings doubled, the unemployment rate changed in the worst side against the backdrop of lockdowns…

Knowing the context, it is difficult to talk about positive aspects, but they were found. The authorities are forced to actively revive the former standard of living in the agglomeration, where 20 million people live. Back in 2020, $30 million was allocated to tourism marketing to help undo the reputational damage caused by covid. The administration expects to see more than 36 million tourists in 2021 – for the sake of them, one of the terminals of LaGuardia Airport has been updated, and a terminal with 33 gates will open at Newark Airport. Upscale hotels and restaurants are planning to reopen soon, and even Broadway is teasing audiences with the return of productions in the fall of 2021.

    Second place. Los Angeles, CA

City of Angels has followed in the footsteps of the leader in terms of worsening the lives of ordinary people. It was called the epicenter of the epidemic, and the unemployment rate reached 10%. But the situation was brought under control when the mayor of the city was one of the first to demand the complete closure of companies and enterprises in non-key sectors of the economy. By May 2021, all of California, and Los Angeles in particular, boasted the lowest rate of new infections in the country.

Now the city is trying to catch up. Los Angeles is known as the culinary Mecca of the United States, with some of the world’s finest culinary restaurants waiting for hungry diners. For sports fans, a new SoFi stadium has been opened, which will host the Super Bowl in 2022 (the final game for the title of the US National Football League is the most popular sporting event in the country). The construction of hotels is actively continuing (with many already open), the transport system is developing, the airport is being updated … In general, the city is ready for several seasons ahead.

    Third place. Chicago, Illinois

Got to the positive. According to the authors of the study, in Chicago, everything is so good that it’s even scary. The city is coping with the pandemic tolerably, in any case, the horrors of New York have bypassed it. But the return to hectic life is swift: there is a vibrant nightlife, and many restaurants of the highest level, even the Obama couple is going to open a large-scale cultural center with a presidential library in Chicago, charging the image of the city with its positive energy (from the point of view of ordinary Americans).

Considerable budget funds are invested in the development of art. The largest digital projections on the facades of buildings in pre-Covid times attracted 32,000 people. Thus, Chicago is not only coping well with the current state of affairs, but also has every chance of becoming the leader of the US among the best cities.

    Fourth place. San Francisco, CA

One of the most controversial cities in the US, famous for its rich history and huge number of homeless people. The authorities hope that they will be able to ensure the development of the city in spite of the haters, because there is potential for this.

San Francisco has been attracting new residents since the gold rush, and as a result, it was the immigrants who gave impetus to the development, on the powerful thrust of which the city still strives for the stars. Stanford University and Berkeley attract students from all over the world to the West Coast. True, there are losses: over the past year, many large companies have begun moving offices to cheaper Miami and Austin.

The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, the new Museum of Asian Art, and streets lined with colorful Victorian houses are all responsible for attracting tourists. In 2019Over 26 million people visited San Francisco in 2020, and “only” 10 million in 2020. The authorities expect to return to the previous indicators by 2023.

    Fifth place. Boston, Massachusetts

The most Europeanized city, made the center of higher education thanks to Harvard. If not for the university, it is unlikely that Boston would have been able to climb to the fifth line of the national ranking. It can be called one big Akademgorodok – all life here boils around and for the sake of students: laboratories, lecture halls, 75 higher educational institutions and 200 thousand students.

Fortunately, the city does not live by students alone. A huge number of museums (new and not so) stir up activity among the local population, most of whom have a diploma of higher education. Not surprisingly, in the category “people” Boston has excellent marks. The authorities are also betting on tourism – in 2020, they planned to put into operation five thousand new hotel rooms over the next five years. So Boston has every chance to remain at the highest possible positions.

    Sixth place. San Diego, California

In the distant 18th century, Spanish settlers arrived here, to whom the sandy coast reminded them of the sunny beaches of their homeland (so it seems to us). In the 21st century, the city is considered one of the fastest growing in the United States, because in a good climate and surrounded by nature, progress is much easier: 263 sunny days a year are no joke.

Against such a happy bright background, the consequences of the pandemic look unnoticeable. For example, the Mingei International Museum reopens its doors to visitors, not just because $52 million was invested in it. In the near future, the authorities plan to open a children’s zoo (for $62 million). And of course, Comic-Con will resume in San Diego, which comic book fans from all over the world are looking forward to.

    Seventh place. Washington DC

The capital was in the top ten. This city is the most searched on Google (and that’s saying something), and on Facebook it’s the seventh most tagged city. Here is the second headquarters of Amazon, creating many jobs for local (and not so) residents.

2020 was to be a year of active construction, with investments reaching $10 billion. m. And in the southwest they will launch a huge project with a hotel, a park, shops and offices. It seems that the new American dream is the hope that the pandemic will finally end and we will just continue to live as before.

    Eighth place. Denver, CO

Sprawling at the base of the Rocky Years, the city is popular for the offices of the largest Fortune 500 companies, including the notorious financial intermediaries Western Union, health care giants DaVita and Centene, and the brewing company Molson Coors. With big names at its disposal (especially pharmaceutical companies), the city has not lost much during the pandemic and has remained in an economically resilient position.

Denver’s 300 days of sunshine a year also earned Denver many points in the Best Cities ranking. When you live surrounded by mountains and walking trails, it’s hard to get depressed, even if the whole world around you is sad. Lovers of man-made beauty were just as lucky, because the city was declared the capital of street art in the country. In general, even during the period of the raging coronavirus, there was time here for both work and leisure.

    Ninth place. Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix is a city with a Hispanic soul. Therefore, here are the best restaurants of Mexican cuisine (according to researchers, of course). We will not argue with the authorities, we will only add that the sunny year is very conducive to life in the style of “siesta”.

Ten new hotels have opened in Phoenix this year, shopaholics are flocking to spruce up their wardrobes, and up-and-coming youngsters are looking for new ways to express themselves artistically, drawing inspiration from local bars and national parks. In order for residents to have money for all these entertainments, the city authorities support the development of human capital, so the unemployment rate remains consistently low.

    Tenth place. San Jose, California

Capital of Silicon Valley. In principle, the phrase itself should make it clear why everything is fine here: if the central offices of Google, Facebook, Cisco, Adobe, eBay and PayPal are located in your city, the probability of a high standard of living, let’s say, tends to infinity.

So why not first place? Tech giants and a highly skilled population with seven-figure salaries have led to an unsustainable rise in property prices. Because of this, many began to leave the city with the onset of the pandemic. Falling income and high rents are taking their toll.

However, the deep integration of the IT sector with the local economic market will not allow a crisis to break out in just one year. In addition, the new high-speed transit system brings San Jose closer to the coast, allowing you to work here, but live further away (and cheaper). And yet whether the city was able to overcome the crisis, time will tell. In the meantime, it rounds out the top 10 US cities in 2021.

Where to Stay in St. Louis for Sightseeing

St. Louis has several interesting neighborhoods, but early visitors who plan to do some sightseeing would be best off finding accommodation right in the center of the city. It is home to the Jefferson Memorial Park and the Gateway Arch, as well as many other important landmarks. Below are some highly rated hotels in convenient locations:

    • Luxury Hotels: Centrally located in the entertainment district, next to the Gateway arch, is the chic Four Seasons Hotel with a beautiful outdoor pool and patio overlooking the Mississippi River and the arch. One of the most unique hotels in St. Louis is the St. Louis Union Station, Doubletree by Hilton, housed in a large old Union Station building dating back to 1894. The lobby of the Grand Hall Hotel is elegantly designed. Also in the center is the boutique Magnolia Hotel with a modern style. It offers standard rooms, suites and an extended stay program.
    • Mid-Range Hotels : Housed in three beautifully restored historic buildings and within walking distance of the Gateway Arch is the Drury Plaza Hotel on the Arch. Adjacent to the convention center and close to central attractions is the courtyard. Adjacent, but closer to the river and Gateway Arch, is the Embassy Suites by Hilton. This LEED certified hotel is fully equipped for families with two-room suites and a pool.
    • Cheap Hotels: Since there are not enough budget hotels in the city center, the best option is to look for a hotel outside the city center, although this requires a little driving. The Red Roof Inn Plus, close to Forest Park, is a good value option about 10 minutes from downtown. Even closer is the Avyan Hotel, formerly the Holiday Inn Express, with basic, comfortable rooms.
