The municipal budgetary preschool educational institution of the city of Rostov-on-Don “Kindergarten No. 244” was opened in 1972 in one of the most picturesque corners of our city. The cozy building is located in an ecologically clean forested area.
In our kindergarten, conditions are created for the natural effective development and self-development of the child, his personal growth, the formation of the cognitive interests of children.
Creating the site, we tried to gather in one place all the brightest moments from the life of our kindergarten, to create a creative platform for communication with children and parents.

Introducing a child to reading
The process of introducing a child to reading should begin as early as possible in the family. Parents should be aware of the need, the expediency of the aesthetic significance of the baby’s early communication with a book, with an artistic word.
But this process cannot be understood in a simplistic way. Buying a large number of different books, allowing the child to examine them, play with them, sometimes read them to him does not mean to introduce him to reading. Moreover, listening and watching audio and video materials, which are beginning to be actively used by modern parents, cannot be called a process of familiarizing with reading. Today it is impossible not to introduce a child into audio and video culture, but it is better to postpone acquaintance with it for a while, as well as the thoughts that have arisen in some parents that it is time to teach the child to read and write. Currently, there are many different programs and technologies, the authors of which believe (for example, the American psychiatrist G. Doman) that early learning to read (from birth to 3 years) is more effective and less laborious for a child and an adult. The ideas “Read before talking”, “Read before walking” and the methods of their implementation are very attractive to parents. But these techniques have not yet been tested by science and practice.
Currently, there are several types of families. Some parents see the goal of introducing books to early literacy, and in the second or third year of life they begin to teach their children letters. Others, on the contrary, believe that the later the child meets the book, the stronger his interest in it will be. Still others try to read as much cognitive literature to children as possible, assuring themselves and others that this is the key to successful schooling.
One thing is indisputable, that it is in early childhood that a child develops an interest in a book, in the very process of reading, in sound, by the way – in learning new things. Your goal is to make this interest sustainable, to consolidate it, since at an early age that baggage of knowledge, impressions, and ideas is accumulated, which is the basis and basis for the comprehensive development of a person.
Reading is an occupation that serves to unite the family, unite the child and the adult, and mutual understanding. It has a psychotherapeutic effect: it calms the child, contributes to the development of perseverance, attention. Reading children’s literature and observing how the child perceives it, one’s own reflections on what they have read is an imperceptible, at first glance, but a significant check, and perhaps even an adjustment of the course of education that the family has chosen.
It is reading that will gradually prepare the child for the change of leading activity: for the transition from play to learning. It is in the process of listening to an interesting book that perseverance, attention, patience, the ability to listen and hear are developed, speech and cognitive abilities are improved. Unbeknownst to himself, the baby is preparing to learn.
Children are often referred to as “little readers”. In fact, he is a listener, since he still does not know how to read. But it is at the stage of active listening that the child gradually becomes a reader.
In the process of reading, a three-year-old child remembers a lot, not only for the sake of memorization. Everything that he acquires now will become the basis for his “Why?”, “Why?”, “Why?”, The basis for analytical activity. In this regard, parents in the introduction to reading should see a special meaning.
Under what conditions is early and fruitful introduction of children to reading possible? The first and most important condition: understanding that being parents is work, a lot of work to overcome oneself for the sake of the child. You can dream a lot about what the child will be like, but dreams, by a wave of magic, come true only in a fairy tale. Real life is constant work. Before you do anything to carry out the process of educating a reader in a child, you need to realize why you need to be included in this process as early as possible, what is the role of reading in a person’s life.
Every normal parent, regardless of their education, career and financial situation, wants their child to be successful. This immutable and eternal truth sounded even in the old lullabies. A peasant mother in a chicken hut, where she has “seven guys, they all sit on benches, they all eat crust”, rocking her “killer whale”, she sang: “And when you become a general, you will walk in gold …” Now parents are striving to so that their children can speak not only their native language, but also a foreign language. In addition, the entry of our country into the global educational space will require such knowledge. But fluency in a foreign language presupposes fluency in the native language, its semantic essence. This is the base, without which it is extremely difficult to learn another language. So, right now, in the third year of a baby’s life, it is necessary to introduce him to systematic reading, to develop speech through reading. An early meeting of a child with a book is the key to the development of correct, competent, beautiful speech.
Picking up a book to read to children, you should not set yourself any one task. Your task should be universal – you need to read the work in such a way that, firstly, to please yourself and the child and arouse mutual interest in what you read. If you are not interested in the text, the child may also remain indifferent to it. Secondly, reading should be meaningful. You should not think that a small child can read a faceless text. On the contrary, the smaller the child, the better literature should be. This is necessary in order not to spoil his aesthetic taste, so that in the future he himself learned to choose good books for himself.
What is a quality book? This is a book in which the content and design correspond to the age capabilities and needs of the child. Figuratively speaking, this is the book that the kid does not want to part with.
Let us turn, for example, to V. Suteev’s fairy tale “The Ship”. This is a fairy tale about true friendship, about the fact that one must be able to live among others without opposing oneself to others. But the fairy tale is interesting not only for its idea. She improves the baby’s knowledge of the world around her: it turns out that a chicken, a mouse, an ant and a bug cannot swim. For a child of the third year of life, this can be a discovery, it can awaken cognitive activity, a desire to ask a question, to get some new information.
The tale testifies to the author’s knowledge of the psychology of a small listener: it is dynamic, full of action. A child of this age will not listen to a prolonged narrative. The heroes in this tale are animated, they talk like people, build a boat, work. It is precisely such – alive, similar to himself – that the child represents and perceives.
But besides, the fairy tale is brilliantly framed by the author himself – the animator. The illustrations are distinguished by realism, clarity of image, natural colors, expressiveness of the characters of the characters. Here is a Frog with bulging eyes flies into the water. And here he is at the end of the tale: now his eyes are sad. He did not want to understand his friends who did not know how to swim, and was left alone. Remember: you just need to read the book, enjoying communication with the child through a literary text, which, with the words of the author and your expressive intonations, will tell the child what is good and what is bad.
And now let’s talk about the quality of the poetic text. Poems contribute to the assimilation of the native language, its sound composition. Pronouncing lines of poetry or individual rhyming words, the baby, without noticing it, improves his vocal apparatus, phonemic hearing.
Poems, the need for which for a child in the first year of life is manifested in rhythmic babble (ma-ma, ba-ba …), and later in the desire to rhyme, develop creativity in him. He repeats with pleasure the rhyming words in those verses that his parents read to him, and then he begins to select rhymes himself, listening to their sound, accompanying them with movements. Poems contribute to the formation of an impeccable aesthetic taste.
What verses should be read to children of the third year of life? As for the content, it can be varied. Authors writing for children of this age talk with kids about what surrounds them, what happens in their childhood life, about relationships with toys, peers, close adults. These themes can be both realistic and dreamlike.
Keeping in mind the quality of children’s verse, one cannot ignore the artistic world, that is, those ways of conveying thoughts and feelings that the author chooses. This is the expressiveness of the poetic image, the accuracy of rhyme and rhythm, sound writing. We must not forget that a children’s poem is always a miracle, a discovery, some new look at what seems everyday, familiar, a look that often coincides with a child’s, and sometimes is expressed purely childishly. For example, M. Yasnov in the poem “The Incident on the Railroad” forms a new word in the way children do. And the fact that it has a different meaning is not at all important.

The child’s reading circle expands due to foreign folk songs, nursery rhymes, fables, fairy tales. In order to succeed in introducing a child to reading, it is necessary to read systematically, daily. If the baby attends a preschool, then this should be done in the evening, before bedtime.
