Oklahoma City work, but just like that, and at the same time met with our friends / my colleagues, who, like me, flew to the States in 2016 for work. On one of my previous trips, I managed to take a little walk around the Brick Town area, which I liked for its silence, greenery and a stream with pretty waterfalls:

While we were waiting for the guys who were coming to meet us by car from Dallas, we went to the Museum of Osteology. Impressive first photo in the next series can not be seen!
Here, at the entrance, almost opposite the ticket office where we bought tickets, the seller told all visitors that the bugs (local domestic animals) were just working to clean the bones of a cat and a raccoon (well, in simple words, they gnaw them for the next exhibition).

The museum itself turned out to be small – one room, two floors, but all the skeletons are still product, no plastic:

The Oklahoma State Capitol was not open to the public, so we just walked around, walked around on one side:

We stayed a little longer at the Oklahoma National Memorial City , which I will talk about in a little more detail:

At this place in 1995 there was a terrorist attack, which was the largest in the United States until September 11, 2001.

Many people know and have been near the memorial 9/11 in New York, but few people know about the explosion of the federal building in the capital of Oklahoma (even my American was not aware):

The place is very exciting, sad, chills to the bone (just like 9/11), what only there are chairs that symbolize all the dead (168 people, including 19 children under the age of 6) and their empty seats at the dinner tables in families.

The terrorist who planned this attack did not notice that there was a kindergarten in the building…

On both sides of the water pool there are gates with time – in this interval an explosion thundered:

Horror-horror-horror,

but what else besides that impressed me (I am generally very impressionable, especially when it comes to explosions , death of people) and what I certainly didn’t know was that the death penalty is applied in the USA (somehow this information passed me by all these years). Naturally, after visiting the memorial, we first dived into the Internet to find out the motivation, participants, reasons, and so on, then we watched a documentary film about this terrorist attack to the heap (after the trip), I also read a brief biography of the main “performer”, and then – then it turned out that the convict was executed by lethal injection. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat! Somehow I did not expect at all that in the States it is actively used – an illustration from Wikipedia:

I have mixed thoughts about this, so I’ll keep them to myself for now. But the fact is that this new piece of information turned out to be very unexpected for me.

But let’s talk about the positive again. After the memorial, we walked to the botanical garden:

Went into a house called Factory Obscura with all sorts of weird stuff and modern art (something like the Meow Wolf in Santa Fe I wrote about earlier):

By the way, there are a lot of such things in Oklahoma City, because the Mother Roads of America – route 66 – passes through the state and the city. some “artifacts” still remain. Dairy Store (building is closed, but the bottle still reminds of what was inside):

Pops restaurant and its giant bottle of soda (they sell heaps of different flavored drinks, like spaghetti or pizza, or classic sodas like cherry flavored:

A large round barn that used to be one of the most photographed sights (now there is a museum and souvenir shop on the first floor, and the second floor is rented out for various events):

At night we walked over the bridge with scissors (which is officially called the beautifully Skydance Bridge – heavenly dance):

It is completely pedestrian, but now it is being actively repaired, so it is impossible to get from one part of the city to another – there is a fence.
