Not Just a “Daycare”
“When searching for infant and childcare in Little Rock, a friend recommended Darnall school to me. From the first time I met Mrs. Frances I had a positive feeling… I am very happy with the care he receives, the consistency and manners that are being taught. They have a daily schedule that is consistent along with lots of learning. It’s not just a “day care,” its a school with faculty whose love for children is apparent in every morning greeting and every goodbye.” Kimberly H.

Safe and Secure
“Choosing a daycare is one of the hardest decisions we had to make as new parents. I worked in a daycare for seven years, so I knew what I wanted for my children when I was looking for a daycare. Darnall School has been wonderful and has gone above and beyond my expectations… I feel secure knowing my children are in a safe environment and in loving hands. Mrs. Frances leads by example and we could not be happier.” Meagan C.

Geography
The city of Little Rock is crossed by the Arkansas and Forks Bayou rivers. It is located south of the confluence of the Momel and Arkansas rivers.
In 2010 it had 193,000 inhabitants. The metropolitan area, which includes the cities of North Little Rock, Sherwood, and Jacksonville, has a population of over 700,000 (2010), making it the primary metropolitan area in the state.
History
Geographically located in central Arkansas, the name Little Rock comes from the formation of small rocks on the south bank of the Arkansas River called “La Petite Roche” during French Louisiana times. It used to be a landmark used by navigators and became a famous river crossing. It is located in front of Large rock near the river, which served as a quarry.
In 1722 the French explorer Jean-Baptiste Benard de la Arpe built a trading post at a place called “La Petite Roche”. In 1812, trapper William Lewis built a house on the same site.
In 1821, Little Rock became the capital of the Arkansas Territory, founded in 1819, and then the capital of the state of the same name, which replaced it in 1836.
In 1863, Little Rock was the site of the Battle of Bayou Fourches during the Civil War.
After the Little Rock crisis (1957-1959), and despite the reluctance of the white population and Governor Orval Fobes, school segregation was abolished.
Little Rock is one of the most dangerous cities in the USA; Ghettos gradually form around the city, where daily scores between rival gangs, murder, rape or prostitution take place. Little Rock’s drug dealers were nicknamed “ snowmen ” after the cocaine sold by the drug dealers.
