Kindergarten in the style of “Lego” – Dvina 29
A large-scale renovation of the kindergarten at 25 Rosa Luxembourg Street began in April last year. It was planned to open in September. However, the resuscitation of the old building is only now coming to an end.
Mothers have already taken a fancy to the playground
“Merry Bells” stopped sounding in 1997. They were closed due to poor birth rates. Now we have huge queues for kindergartens, and the new kindergarten, designed for 280 seats, is more than ever welcome. nine0003
It’s hard to believe that the building once looked like an object for stalkers’ entertainment: broken or boarded up windows, rickety pieces of iron in the yard, graffiti-painted walls. Now it can be compared to a children’s craft made of LEGO bricks. The colorful building stands out against the background of dull high-rise buildings and attracts attention.
Nearby we see a chic playground throughout the kindergarten. What is there just not here: colorful houses, and carousels, and swings – everything that preschool children can wish for. Residents of neighboring houses have already appreciated the new playground. According to the workers, mothers come here with their children. nine0003
Builders are not interfered with, property is not damaged, so they are not driven away. And at night, a security guard looks after the territory. True, snowdrifts interfere with appreciating all the splendor of the courtyard interior of the garden. So the driver who brought the putty could not leave the gate the first time.
Figures of workers continually appear in the illuminated windows. Here, one of them seems to have a puncher in his hands, the other has a spatula. We look in to find out how much the building has changed inside.
On the third floor – winter garden
Site superintendent Sergei Nefedovsky said that when they started work, the premises were in complete ruin.
– We started dismantling last April. Building codes have changed compared to Soviet times. A lot had to be redone, he said.
It was planned that the kindergarten will open by September-November, but the reconstruction was delayed due to constant changes in projects.
In the new building in the group dining room on the second floor there is an unusual glazed buffet. nine0003
– You can put dishes there. That is, the nanny who delivers food will not need to go to the kitchen, carry heavy loads. And she can wash the dishes here, – said Sergey Nefedovsky.
For the first time in their practice, the builders received an order to create a “winter garden”. It is impressive in size: the entire third floor was given over to it. It is light and spacious here. The walls are painted in a pleasant pastel orange color. The superintendent suggested that educators would be able to hold sports events or holidays on the floor, and in the cold winter months, the children would be warmer and more comfortable here. nine0003
– Many people I know tell me that the garden looks very nice from the outside. Whose design it is, I don’t know. Finishing work is underway, they are at the stage of completion. We would like to finish by the end of February. But whether we will make it on time depends on the furniture suppliers. According to the plan, it was supposed to be delivered by the end of January, and now – by February 15th. Furniture still needs to be assembled and arranged, – said the foreman.
The construction curator noted that “Merry Bells” is still in private ownership. The procedure for transferring the building to state ownership is yet to come. nine0003
Comment
Ekaterina Prokopyeva, Deputy Governor for Social Affairs:
money through the courts. We have several such projects in the region. Kindergarten “Merry Bells” on Rosa Luxembourg Street in Arkhangelsk is one of them. True, we are not talking about new construction, but about the reconstruction of many years of empty premises. This year it ends, and we will buy the kindergarten. Completely for the money of the regional budget. And hand it over to the municipality. nine0003
