Patience Montessori School

We toured a lot of schools before selecting Patience, and these are the top things that stand out to us most: 1.) A Montessori education – love the well-prepared “child-sized” classrooms, natural materials to work with, and really everything about the Montessori method which truly helps foster independence and polite manners. 2.) The outdoor play space is fantastic. Real grass/gardens, dirt to dig in, flowers, bugs, etc. The outdoor play area is also fenced in by a high fence so it provides added security. Other schools we toured initially had either artificial turf or just wood chips, and chain-link or low fencing 3.) The school is always very calm and quiet – well laid out, organized, large classrooms to the ratio of children, nothing ever seems hectic or loud. 4.) Most importantly – the teachers are all absolutely wonderful and they truly make the experience. LOVE THE TEACHERS!

Julia

We love Patience Montessori, at 28th and Kalmia in Boulder. .. we feel fortunate to have found such a great gem of a school for our 17-month-old daughter!

-Stacey

My wife and I looked at a variety of local schools and chose Patience because we loved the diversity among teachers and the convenient logistics.
Colorado isn’t a particularly diverse state so having several ethnicities and cultures represented at school is important to us. Our daughter has been taught to love learning and be independent there. She’s been shown a tremendous amount of love and has grown out of her shy, quiet demeanor into a social, confident personality.

Bing

At almost 16 months old, it amazes me what my son is able to do based on things they have taught him already at his “school”. It is wonderful.

Michelle

I wanted to express how happy I am to have Kaleo at your school. He’s grown tremendously and it’s been a joy watching him learn from all the kids in the classroom.

Leslie

Wonderful school! Our two daughters love going to Patience Montessori! Our three year old daughter has been attending Patience for the past year and half. The teachers are all kind, patient and attentive to each student. The kids have dedicated activities and exercises to their age group but also encourage engagement with younger students. The school is very much a community where the teachers care for all of the students and parents know all of the other student names. The school is always calm and orderly. The teachers give each student he space to play and be creative.

Nora

Simply Amazing School! I’m touched by the spirit of Grace that emanates from this place. We feel very lucky and very proud to have our son riding the path of evolution assisted by the Kind and Brilliant Souls that compound the entire staff of the Patience Montessori School and by all the beautiful kids that attend it! We want to see more and more kids having the same life training and bright education like this so we’ll be sure to live in a much better world. Thanks Patience Montessori!! You Rock!!

I cannot say enough about the staff. They genuinely care about each and every child and treat the parents and children with the utmost respect.

Boulder stones in the garden – ideas and rules for decorating the site

173

When it comes to decorating a garden with stones, antique statues or oriental rock gardens most often come to mind. However, today there are many other ways to “settle” a stone in your area – from neat geometric slabs in the style of laconic minimalism to imitation of mighty medieval fortresses. One option is to decorate the garden with boulders, which will be discussed.

Living ideas for inanimate nature

Boulders are large and medium-sized rock fragments that can vary in shape and texture, but blend well with many materials, and therefore do not lose their popularity in landscape design.

There are many options for decorating the garden with stones – from small decorative elements to complex compositions. Since large boulders are visually eye-catching, they can be used as an accent – for example, set one or more stones surrounded by low weeping willows or blooming magnolia thickets.

Boulders entwined with vines will look romantic – like a mystical echo of the past, covered with foliage. This solution is suitable for antique-styled gardens.

The combination of stones and moss looks no less impressive in such areas: “aged”, mossy boulders among mighty coniferous trees will take you to the world of Scandinavian fairy tales.

Medium and small boulders can be used as a frame for a larger element of the composition, such as a tree or a large flower bed. A few sun-bleached stones at the foot of a mighty oak or pale pink boulders casually nestled under the sun among bright inflorescences – each of the options is beautiful in its own way.

A good solution would be to use boulders on uneven terrain – a slope or a dry stream bed. The boulders will organically fit into such an unusual relief, and the lush greenery peeping between the stones will enliven the landscape.

Widely known rock gardens – compositions of large stones, decorated with mountain plants. And although the idea of creating a small mountain corner in your garden has already ceased to be exotic, lavender inflorescences and neat mountain pines that have sprouted among the stones do not lose their charm.

A similar solution is rockeries, which are also complex compositions of rocks and plants, however, in this case you are not limited to alpine flora: any slow-growing varieties will do.

Of course, not every plot has a large scope, but even if you have a small garden, you don’t have to give up on the idea. You can create a small but cozy composition of one or two stones surrounded by well-chosen plants.

However, boulders should not be exclusively decorative elements – they can be quite functional. The classic use of stone is in stone paths and hedges. You can choose the classic version, or you can let your imagination run wild.

Stone benches are perfect for relaxing in the shade of trees – a boulder can be a separate decorative element of the seat, or, with proper processing, turn into an original, but full-fledged replacement for chairs and sun loungers.

Many people are fascinated by the combination of stone and water – and no wonder, because it is rare to find such a natural combination of movement and rest. Therefore, boulders often become an ornament to a fountain or pond – it can be masonry along the coast, or maybe a large boulder-island in the middle of the water surface, on which water lilies sway.

Another option for using boulders in the garden, which has been actively gaining popularity lately, is the masking of communications. Manholes, septic tanks, pumping stations and other installations are often a necessary element of improvement, but they can somewhat disturb the aesthetic harmony of your garden. In this case, a really good solution is to mask the manhole or septic tank cover with a boulder that fits neatly into the composition.

Beware of gravity!

When you have decided where the boulders will be located in your garden, and what role they will play, you may face the problem of choice: what is better suited to implement your ideas – natural stone or its artificial counterparts?

Natural stone, of course, has its advantages – it is reliable, durable, looks impressive, and therefore many prefer it without even thinking. However, choosing this option, you need to be prepared for a number of difficulties.

Decorative stone for the garden

Thus, some rocks, widely used in landscape design, may not tolerate a humid environment – this applies, for example, to sandstone. Such a stone can be a decorative element, but it will not be possible to use it to mask communications or as a hatch cover. In addition, if you are gardening in a region with a humid climate, sandstone can also be a problem.

Marble and granite, also widely used materials for boulders and stone decorations, are more reliable in this sense, however, their cost is much higher, and therefore such stones are not available to everyone.

Decorative planter stone for the garden

Another drawback is the significant weight of natural stone boulders: sometimes it can reach several tons! And this, firstly, makes it difficult to transport and install boulders, and secondly, it may require additional strengthening of the soil: large stones can “fall through” into the ground by several centimeters.

Many people think that the implementation of the idea is worth any difficulties, however, if you want to avoid such obstacles, you should give preference to artificial materials that are not inferior to natural stone in spectacularity, but are more comfortable to use.

Stone jewelry made easy!

A good solution to avoid the above difficulties is to replace natural rock with polystone stones. It is a material based on acrylic resins and aluminum hydroxide, which combines the beauty of natural stone and the capabilities of modern composite materials.

Decorative stone for the garden

Polystone is non-toxic, and therefore absolutely harmless to both humans and animals. So, you can safely decorate a suburban area with polystone boulders, where you plan to relax with children and play ball with a dog.

Decorative manhole cover

In addition, polystone is a fairly light material, and therefore creates less difficulties during transportation and installation on the site. This property is especially noticeable when it comes to boulders designed to mask communications. Manhole covers and septic tanks made of polystone imitating natural stone are hollow inside and equipped with ventilation holes, which greatly simplifies installation and operation. Even the largest manhole covers, up to 2m in diameter, remain lightweight due to their hollow construction and material characteristics.

Decorative manhole cover

Another advantage of polystone stones is their resistance to external influences. Polystone does not react with air, it is not afraid of ultraviolet and high temperatures – the material can withstand heating up to 180 degrees. In addition, polystone products are easy to clean and do not stain, for example, from fruit juices – so your garden decor will last a long time, even if you have picnics every weekend in your “stone” garden.

Decorative manhole cover

In addition, polystone easily withstands moisture, which is especially important when masking communications where contact with a humid environment is possible. However, this property of the material is also useful for purely decorative products made of polyresin, which can be safely left in the garden in bad weather – they are not afraid of snow and rain.

Garden figure Deer

Finally, polystone will easily fit into any design idea, since this material can have up to a hundred different colors – which means that you are not limited in your choice by anything but your imagination. You can prefer the imitation of natural stone – for example, sandstone, granite, or any other. Or you can let your imagination run wild and turn your garden into a truly magical corner, inhabited by charming fairy-tale figurines.

Fountain and washbasin Boulders

But it is important to understand that the material is primarily a tool for the realization of your idea. And no matter what you decide to create on your site – an elegant decoration of a flower bed, a graceful and neat disguise for domestic structures, or a whole stone garden for meditation – boulders will give your garden originality and a touch of eternity and tranquility of stone.

Deep In The Heart

The whole story

1. Blue moonlight
Donkey did not sleep,
Donkey sat on a boulder
And yawned and yawned…
And by chance the donkey suddenly swallowed the moon,
He smiled, sighed –
And calmly fell asleep.

2. Wandered into our kindergarten
Ten little chickens.
Started them from the street
Spotted chicken.
Cute little chicken, you’ve got the wrong street,
This is a kindergarten.
But not for chickens!

3. There is no way we can understand Dasha,
After all, Dasha has porridge in her mouth.
But not buckwheat and not pilaf –
This porridge is something of words!

4. Every officer must
Speak perfectly “R”!
Otherwise he’s a soldier
He won’t line up.

5. We sat down in order,
We do exercises together,
Not with legs, not with hands,
But with our … tongues.

6. The princess has Arina
There are three duvets on the bed.

7.
