BBT Protests Wells Fargo’s Attempt to Contact Pension Plan Members and Communities – News
Brothers Church News Feed members of the Pension Plan, as well as churches in this denomination, are contacted by Wells Fargo Advisors about pensions and retirement. Representatives of Wells Fargo Advisors link to the BBT website and hint that there are serious problems with the Brothers pension plan and that members should be concerned about their investments.
BBT emphasizes that these Wells Fargo Advisors employees are in no way affiliated with the brethren’s charitable foundation, the brethren’s retirement plan, or the brethren’s church denomination.
They do not have a complete understanding of the Brotherhood pension plan, but they are clearly trying to undermine the Brotherhood pension plan for their own personal gain.
The Brotherhood Pension Plan remains a safe and secure investment for church leaders, pastors, district staff, denominational agency staff, and retirement community workers who seek retirement security. BBT-managed investments are made by eight national managers, which are reviewed quarterly, and the funds are well diversified across market sectors. Although the pension plan experienced a reduction in the annuity rate for the first time in its history, it still ranks highly when compared to similar pension plans.
In the spirit of Matthew 18, the GBT sends a letter to the two representatives who write letters from Wells Fargo Advisors asking them to stop their attacks on the GBT program and to apologize to those they contacted. The BBT hopes this will solve the problem, but otherwise will use other options to protect its members and the Fraternity Pension Plan.
Since 1943, members of the plan have looked at their retirement with a sense of security, trusting that the brothers’ pension plan will last for the rest of their lives. BBT takes this responsibility very seriously and is determined to live up to these expectations.
