Har Wagai (mountain and valley), one of the junior and senior regional universities, is located in Kibbutz Daphne. The school has 900-1000 students from grades 7 to 12. Early Roman Pottery fragments were found during excavations at Daphne. ^[3] A place called Daphne was mentioned here by Josephus. ^[4]

Edward Robinson, who visited in 1852, identified Daphne with “a low mound of rubbish with cut stones, apparently the remains of a former city” called Difne, which he encountered while driving south from Tel el -Cadi to Mansura. ^[4] He noted that the land at some distance to the south was called Ard Difneh. ^[4]

In the Survey of Western Palestine identified Daphne with Khirbet Dufna, which means “the death of Daphne (oleander)”, which they marked on their map in the place where Al-Shawka at-Takhta was supposed to stand later, approximately 1 km northwest of present-day Daphne ^{[5] [6] [7]}

According to a 1949 book by the Jewish National Fund, Daphne, along with other border settlements of Dan and Kfar Szold, held back Syrian and Lebanese forces during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. However, the settlement was often bombed and allegedly suffered heavy damage. ^[12]

Nouaya

In J.G. Lorimera Gulf Gazetteer , Nuaija was described as being 3 miles from the city of Al-Bidda, from where the city received its water supply in 1908.
