Rooms are outdated, non-smokers smelled of cigarettes and marijuana smoke. The refrigerator didn’t work in 202, there were roaches on the floor in 203, and room 128 was so smashed under the mattress that we couldn’t tell if there were bed bugs.
we called and spoke with the manager on the phone, authorized a refund. We called back and spoke to the manager who was extremely unprofessional, talked to us, made ridiculous claims about why we litter in the hotel but refused to see the photos we took documenting our experience. I don’t recommend this hotel, no one should waste their vacation fighting this nonsense. nine0005

The staff is very rude, where are we going to go but they told us to leave Now we had to do a sand football tournament for our son, things were running behind on Sunday games we literally about me the lady comes to the door and says if you want to pay 25 dollars now and stay until one i said no we get our things now so you put in 25 dollars. I said no again then she replied let me see you get your stuff and leave often you both my kids travel sports never have we ever been treated like this. Also, the pool was full of water during the summer and the Lady was very rude saying that it has been closed for three years and it doesn’t matter please don’t talk at this place. nine0005

I got a very good deal for 3 nights, the reception is very nice and helpful, the rooms are good beds and a good and comfortable atmosphere, they need to clean a little better, but I always clean my hotel rooms so I know they are clean, the toilet is slowly flushing but a pleasant stay and close to the beach and shops.

We stayed for quality at Del Rehoboth Beach. Perfect place. The same is expected here. Not right! This place was a dump! Will never stay here again! It’s better to sleep in your car! The mattress had a big sag in it. The toilet continued to run. The room was dirty, feel about it. Holes in the carpet. They had okroshka for breakfast; it looked like dog food. It was not a buffet, but a breakfast disaster! STAY ELSEWHERE! nine0005

The front desk was polite and helpful. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast had many options. The location was about 25 minutes from the beach. Close to a good bar called “Comfortable Belly”.

This hotel is close to the beach. 20 minutes. It’s quiet and clean. Fridge is nice and cold. Air conditioning. The beds are super comfortable. The pool was really nice too, not crowded at all. Breakfast, continental style and good. The kids loved making their own waffles!. If you are just looking for a place to stay. It’s perfect, nothing fancy, has everything you need and the staff was helpful and friendly! The only complaint was the clock didn’t work and the handle was broken on the microwave but it worked! I would that come back! nine0005

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The first room had cockroaches, they moved us to the next room, which had bedbugs. I have an infant scan who didn’t care that there were bugs in our room. The manager did nothing to accommodate my family, she didn’t even apologize. Wish I had read all these reviews before we booked our trip. nine0005

I was a bit of a bedbug! 18 bites to be exact! The manager won’t listen to my complaint and all they will do is give me a $20 gift card for the medication I need to stop the itch. I have to say… Room 223 by the way and make sure you don’t stay there as they didn’t take care of cleaning the room properly.

Not a bad place. Close to everything you might need during your stay. The Old Butt Motel is reasonably maintained. The heater kinda glitches and 1 light has a loud whine where it only matters. Clean enough and was friendly. nine0320 Since the survey we saw 2 German cockroaches and an American roach, hopefully not more before checking in in the morning. I went from 4 stars to 3 because of this.

The hotel itself is in a good area with little traffic but nothing loud. There is a small strip mall behind it with a grocery store, a thrift store and a few other odds and ends. It’s not far from decent “downtown” places, taxis will only run you $10-15 for most places. The Mexican restaurant next to the hotel (Ole) has great food and the hotel will give you a 20% discount if you ask! nine0320 As far as the rooms go, they were clean and presentable and the amenities (refrigerator, microwave, standard equipment) were all functional. I never tried breakfast but the dining area was also well maintained in appearance.
All in all I’m only knocking one star because the beds are not top notch by any means. Luckily I have a firm sleeper, but this can even be described as lumpy for some people.
I still highly recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a cheap place to sleep with good service staff. (Plus, Ole’s is just delicious!)

I hated him! Every where I looked all I saw was cockroaches! I got out of the shower and went to eat my lunch and there were crawl bugs on it and also while I was standing in my GM towel just walked into my room unannounced and acted like he didn’t want to leave. There is absolutely no reason for him to even enter my room because I just checked out. The rooms smelled like mold and the sheets were so disgusting I didn’t even dare to lay in them. I was at the hotel for maybe a total of 1 hour before I noticed all the appalling quality and immediately went to check in for a full refund. I couldn’t get away from this dump fast enough and I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone! nine0005

The fridge was broken, I found a cockroach in the room and the amenities are pale compared to other hotels in the area. However, the price is quite affordable and the room is equipped with enough to sleep in relative comfort.

Family Kanban: how office software helps organize home life | Ideonomics – Smart about the essentials

Some couples have found that transferring corporate management techniques into family life is not such a stupid and soulless idea

Michelle Pensac and her husband Sean planned to move from Hawaii to Atlanta before the pandemic. There, Sean was supposed to start working for SkyWest. Such a move in any circumstances is a difficult matter, especially with children. And then there’s the pandemic. Sean was sent on leave without pay, and the family began to look for a new place to live. They settled on Virginia Beach.

And that meant choosing a new district, house, school, reviewing the entire family budget. Can they afford kindergarten? And what about the move itself – what protective equipment will they need, what kind of stroller for children so that they do not touch anything, how often do they need to wash their hands? To bring some structure to the chaos, the family turned to Airtable, a cloud-based collaboration service that companies use to manage large projects. There they brought all the lines of their budget, all protective equipment, all kindergartens. nine0005

The family started using this strategy of using office software to organize their home life a year ago. The strategy involved weekly meetings on Sundays, short midweek review meetings, and using platforms like Airtable and Trello (a kind of bulletin board that helps you use the kanban system to streamline processes).

Michelle runs Squared Away, a company that trains military wives to be secretaries and assistants. “My job is to help people get organized,” she says. “And my philosophy is that if you do something more than once, you need a process. ” nine0005

But for many years, Sean and Michelle made decisions on the fly, which at times created tension. As soon as they conducted an audit of their marriage, things began to improve. And now, during the coronavirus, Michelle is especially happy that she runs the family as a business.

Not all couples are so businesslike as to cross family life with meeting rooms. But for some, it brings peace in these turbulent times. Megan Asha and Lev Brie rely heavily on the system they created for their marriage, which they call “My Relationship is a Startup.” nine0005

“Running a business is like having a family and children,” says Asha. What is the mission of our family? How can we organize ourselves? How to achieve trust, transparency, how to communicate when difficulties arise?

A few weeks into lockdown, they learned that Megan, who runs the convention agency FounderMade, is pregnant. She was forced to lay off half her staff and switch to digital events, and Lev, the founder of the search platform River, worked evenings with his remote team. “We wanted a baby this year, but we didn’t think such an apocalypse would happen,” he says. nine0005

To deal with the situation, they used Clickup, an office application that tracks yearly, quarterly, and weekly goals for their relationship. The main tool is the “weekly sprint”, a kind of organizational checklist borrowed from software development. In normal times, the topics that are fixed there are more often to go somewhere together in the evenings or to think over the future upbringing of a child. Now they’ve added a “pandemic plan” that includes both the big questions (where is it safer to live when the baby is born) and the small ones (how to reduce current stress). They discuss these issues in regular meetings and provide written, constructive feedback. nine0005

“The system allows us to get down to business with difficult conversations,” Megan says. “We used to get into fights over things like someone didn’t wash the dishes, or someone doesn’t pay attention to someone. But now we have a space where we can think through them and consciously approach how we relate to each other.

Of course, for such strategies to work, both partners must be prepared for this approach. Michelle Pensac says that her husband was a little taken aback at first by the need to use the software so actively, but then he got used to it. Now we no longer have someone say: “Hmm, I don’t remember you saying that.” nine0005

Allison Daminger, a Harvard sociologist who studies the impact of social inequality on family relationships, agrees that such formal systems can be annoying or tiring. But she says they help achieve equality in relationships. Last year, she published an article in the American Sociological Review about the cognitive work—foresight, planning, and monitoring—that is often required in household chores. Without “a clear plan, couples almost always re-enacted the status quo in which women get more done,” she says. More formal systems help couples figure out what they really want. nine0005

Geeta Palepu, head of a pharmaceutical startup, investor and mother of two, says that “a lot of women experience this when you are constantly doing, doing, doing and waiting for your partner to say: “Come on and I will participate. ” Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen often.” She had her breakthrough moment in late 2018 when she was pregnant with her second child. She suffered from depression, and it seemed to her that her work and family obligations were simply impossible to fulfill. Then she saw a “family checklist” from friends on Instagram and asked her husband to try it. nine0005

“Now we go through almost everything every week: how you feel, how I feel, how our marriage is doing,” says Palepu. “If one of us feels uncomfortable, feels that he or she is not appreciated or not heard, we discuss how we can fix it.” This level of honesty and vulnerability took some getting used to. “The first meetings were incredibly uncomfortable. You have to put your ego aside. It’s practice.”

“Your home should be the most important organization in your life,” says Yves Rodsky, author of Fair Play: A Game-Changing Solution for When You Have Too Much to Do (and More Life to Live). In an efficient, well-functioning office, people know their tasks and clearly understand expectations. At home, she says, this is often not the case. Justice, she says, requires that everyone has specific responsibilities at home and that everyone feels they are their own. Whether it’s washing dishes or managing the family budget, you need to be responsible for all the logistical and cognitive work involved. nine0005

Rodsky says that before she wrote this book, her husband was in charge of the children’s extracurricular activities in their family. But in reality, this meant for him that he comes to sports matches where children participate. And Eve actually did the main organizational work: medical uniforms, sportswear, collecting children, organizing trips. Now, with the new model, “I don’t think about those activities anymore,” she says. So she had six hours a week freed up.

But if you really want to fix domestic inequalities, she says, careful spreadsheets and fancy apps won’t help. They won’t help you communicate your thoughts to each other, Rodsky says. nine0005

Mor Regev and Eric Sweeney of Houston have learned this lesson.
