Daycare benefit: Child Care Benefits – HRA
My Child Care Benefit
What do I do after I’m approved?
Once you are approved for help paying for child care through the Child Care Subsidy Program, you must:
Choose a child care provider
If you need help finding a quality child care provider near you, contact ChildCare Aware or use the Show Me Child Care Provider Search. Your child care provider must be authorized before child care payments can begin. To authorize your child care provider, please complete one of the following:
- Online: Use our online form to authorize your child care subsidy provider
- In-Person: Visit your local FSD Resource Center
- Call: 855-473-3646 to speak with them directly
Provide your schedule
We use your schedule to determine the number of days and time of days your child can receive care each month. We cannot help with child care payments before you submit your schedule.
Pay your portion
You may have to pay a sliding fee and/or copayment. Your approval letter will tell you what costs you are responsible for (if any).
How long will I get help?
Your approval letter will tell you when your eligibility for Child Care Subsidy will begin and end. If you are nearing the end of your eligibility and you still need help, you will need to reapply. If you do not reapply by the date your eligibility ends, you may no longer be eligible for benefits.
If you do not receive an application to reapply 30 days before your eligibility ends, contact us at 855-FSD-INFO (855-373-4636) to ask for one. If you do not reapply by the date your eligibility ends, you may no longer be eligible for benefits.
What should I do if something changes?
You will need to notify the Family Support Division immediately if you:
- Switch to a new child care provider
- Get a new address or phone number
- Welcome a new member into your household
- Have a change in your income
- Change your work or training hours
You can report a change online, by visiting your local resource center, or by calling 855-FSD-INFO (855-373-4636).
What happens if I start making more money?
You are required to report when your income goes above 85% of the State Median Income for Child Care Subsidy, but the state may still pay a portion of your child care costs through Transitional Child Care. Transitional Child Care allows you to ease into paying for child care on your own.
You will receive a letter from the Family Support Division that will tell you if you now qualify for Transitional Child Care and the amount you will now pay. The amount you pay will depend on your income and which level of Transitional Child Care you qualify for.

Help Paying for Child Care | Division of Child Care Services
New York State Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)
The NYS CCAP helps eligible families with some or all of the cost of child care. Each Local Social Services District (LSSD) manages the CCAP with funding and support from the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS).
Eligibility Requirements
Families may qualify based on income, reasons for needing day care, and a child’s age or individual needs.
Income Requirements
Here are the maximum amounts a family can make and still qualify. While this information can be a helpful tool, families should submit an application to their LDSS to find out if they qualify. Income is only one factor to qualify for child care assistance in New York State. Other families may also qualify, based on their specific needs.
Family Size | Annual Income Limit* see table footnote | Monthly Income Limit |
---|---|---|
1 | $40,770.00 | $3,397.50 |
2 | $54,930. 00 | $4,577.50 |
3 | $69,090.00 | $5,757.50 |
4 | $83,250.00 | $6,937.50 |
5 | $97,410.00 | $8,117.50 |
6 | $111,570.00 | $9,297.50 |
7 | $125,730.00 | $10,477.50 |
Activity Requirements
Currently, the CCAP may be available for most families who need child care to work, look for work, attend employment training, attend an education program, and/or meet income requirements. Contact your LSSD for the most up to date information about what service needs or activities may qualify to meet this requirement.
Family Share (also called Family Copay or Family Fee)
If you qualify, you may need to pay a portion of the cost of care depending on your situation.
If you qualify for CCAP, you will receive a notice of approval that includes whether you have a family share, how much it is, and how to pay it.

How the new social insurance fund will pay benefits in Barnaul

Since January 2023, a new joint fund has been launched in Russia, which will deal with all social payments, including children’s
insurance. Since January, these have been handled by the regional branch of the United Social Fund of Russia (OSFR). nine0003
The payment of monthly allowances for children in the Altai Territory in 2023 will be made according to the schedule already familiar to residents of the region: on the 3rd day of each month for the previous one to bank accounts and from the 1st to the 25th day – through the Post Office Russia”.
In December, a number of benefits came ahead of schedule: on December 28, they paid a monthly allowance for caring for a child up to one and a half years old to non-working citizens, benefits for women registered in the early stages of pregnancy, and others.
Thus, the next transfer of funds to citizens who received the payment ahead of schedule will be made in February. nine0003
The new allowance for the birth and upbringing of children will be paid in the same way: on a certain day of the month following the month for which the allowance is granted. For example, if the applicant applied for benefits in January, then his application will be considered within 10 business days (or up to 30 days in difficult cases), if approved, the payment for January will be received by the recipient within five business days. In the future, the allowance will be paid from the 1st to the 25th of the month following the month for which the allowance is paid, that is, the applicant will receive the allowance for February from March 1 to 25. nine0003
The deadline for payment of a monthly allowance for child care up to one and a half years for residents of the region who have taken parental leave at the place of work will also remain the same: the 6th day of the month following the month for which the allowance is paid. On the same dates earlier, the allowance was paid by the regional social insurance. A single date for the transfer of benefits is set for the entire year. If the 6th falls on a holiday or weekend, the payout will arrive on the preceding business days.
In 2023, the transfer of the monthly allowance for the care of a child up to one and a half years for January will be on February 6. A notification about this will be sent to the recipient’s personal account on the public services portal. nine0003
There is one caveat: if the card number “MIR” is indicated as the details for the payment of benefits, then crediting to the card will occur on the day it is transferred by the department. If the allowance is paid to the current account number, the transfer will be no earlier than the next business day after the transfer of funds.
