Due to an ammonia leak from an explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, the state of Texas decided to evacuate the population within a one mile radius of the scene. Ammonia (hydrogen nitride) is a colorless gas with a pungent odor, which, according to its physiological action, belongs to the group of substances with an asphyxiant and neurotropic effect.

Ammonia vapor causes profuse lacrimation, pain in the eyes, chemical burns of the conjunctiva and cornea, loss of vision, coughing spells, redness and itching of the skin. When liquefied ammonia and its solutions come into contact with the skin, a burning sensation occurs, a chemical burn with blisters and ulcerations is possible. nine0003

Earlier it became known that the city authorities are afraid of another explosion at the chemical plant. A large container of ammonia remained at the fertilizer plant, which could explode at any time and virtually destroy the city, reports CNN.

Recall that late on April 17 at a chemical plant located 19 miles from the city of Waco in Texas, there was a strong fire. It was followed by a massive explosion that was felt within a radius of 15 miles. The explosion intensified the fire. One of the ammonia tanks caught fire, and the fire spread to the nursing home and West’s school. nine0003

According to preliminary data, up to 70 people died, about 200 were injured. The condition of 40 victims is assessed as critical. In addition, the explosion destroyed up to 100 houses, including a residential complex with 50 apartments. Note that about 2.8 thousand people live in West.

How Father Frost’s namesake prepares for the New Year holidays. Photos of Santa Clauses from around the world – Kindergarten and child

There are many differences between Ded Moroz and his colleague, Santa Claus. Hundreds of articles have been written about it and many films have been released. But there is still one thing in common between Santa and Santa Claus – they give joy to children and adults. Let’s look at Santa Clauses from all over the world. Sometimes they can do quite ordinary things: for example, swim in the pool or cheer for their favorite football team.
