The Proof is in

Our Customers

At The Dog Stop®, we strive for excellence and pup-satisfaction. But don’t just take it from us – see what dog owners just like you are saying!

“By far the best place for pups around. My tiny bernedoodle Quincy (Q) has gone to both daycare and boarding. The rates are outstanding and the staff takes such great care of him every time he goes. My dog is a city dog for sure because we live in Chicago and only come to Trussville to visit, but they make sure he’s with a good playgroup and in good spirits no matter what. It gives this first-time dog owner so much peace of mind knowing he’s always in good hands.”

– Chase/Google

“I absolutely LOVE the staff here! Milo enjoys all of the services: grooming, daycare and boarding. I think what I love most, besides how sweet they are to my good boy, is that they give TEACHERS a discount! They’re always so helpful with our pets and best of all, Milo gets to socialize with his buddies. If you’re on the fence about trying them out, GET OFF OF THE FENCE! Lol you’ll love them! ”

– Shenay/Facebook

“This place is second to none. They have helped me with my not-so-social dog and changed her so much. She gets so excited going there, and everyone there has her best interest in mind, always smells nice there also. They have grooming and sell treats and things you may need, they have dog daycare and boarding.
Best place in Trussville.

FAQs

What are your daycare & boarding requirements?

All dogs participating in daycare must demonstrate appropriate social skills and the ability to play safely with other dogs. During their first day and/or their first overnight stay at The Dog Stop®, we will evaluate your dog’s interactions with other guests. If we find your dog isn’t an appropriate fit for daycare, they will be separated from other canine guests for the remainder of their stay with regular one-on-one staff time, potty breaks and play sessions. Before boarding and/or daycare, you must provide proof that the following vaccinations are current: Bordetella, Parvovirus & Distemper, and Rabies. Puppies must have all three distemper boosters. We also require that your dog is on a regular flea and tick prevention program, such as Frontline or Advantage or wearing a Seresto Collar (no flea powder). Dogs over seven (7) months must be spayed or neutered to participate in daycare.

What happens if I cannot drop off or pick up my dog during The Dog Stop® business hours?

We will do our best to honor client special requests, although additional costs may apply. Tardiness that is not arranged for in advance may be subject to a one dollar per minute fee at the sole discretion of Management.

What happens over the holidays?

The Dog Stop® hours of operation will be limited to half days, 6:30 AM to 1:00 PM, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve unless the holiday falls on a weekend, in which case regular weekend hours will be observed. The Dog Stop® is closed to the public on all major holidays including, but not limited to, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. We are still staffed to care for your pups during this time, we will just not be operating for daycare, grooming, or boarding pick-ups and drop-offs.

When and what will my dog(s) be fed?

We always suggest that you bring your dog’s food with you from home to limit any digestive upset they may experience by changing their diet. You can provide their food in individually portioned containers or bags. Write down the instructions on how much and how often they are fed right on the bag or container. If food is not provided, your dog will be fed our House dog kibble at no additional cost. Dogs will be fed in the morning and evening unless otherwise requested by the Owner.

Do you administer medications?

Yes. We administer medications (pills, ointments, etc.) on a case-by-case basis. Just provide the medication and instructions at drop-off. If your dog has had a recent major medical issue, we may require a release from your vet before he is allowed to return to daycare or boarding.

Do I get a discount if I have multiple dogs?

Yes! We provide a discount for any additional dog. See pricing above for multiple dog discounts.
