Unusual sculptures by Ann Norton
Oct. 2016 • Family Vacation
In a beautiful city north of Miami, West Palm Beach is home to the garden, home and studio of sculptor Ann Norton. Ann has lived and worked in this house with a magnificent garden for many years.
Ann came to Florida in 1942 to teach at the School of Art. She always dreamed of doing monumental sculpture, and in this garden we saw her unusual works, including those made of brick. The inspiration for their creation was a trip to Asia.
It’s nice to walk in the shade of magnificent palm trees. The garden is arranged in such a way as to emphasize the works created by the sculptor, to be like a background for them.
Temporary exhibitions take place in the house itself. During our visit, ancient engravings were presented, which could be purchased.

Another Palm Beach highlight
June 2017
Sculptures, rare palm trees, lizards and lizards, and Ann Norton’s studio make this a great place to spend an hour or so. The woman at the front desk volunteered a lot of interesting information about Ann Norton and her cases.

Good but not worth the money
2017 • Business
The sculptures that were made by Ann Norton were very good, but very limited. Lots of other two artists, and while everything was good, I really wanted to see more of Norton’s work. The two acres of meandering garden path worked well and there are plenty of benches to sit and meditate on the artwork. I would return if the entrance fee was not so high.

Thank you for visiting the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens. We are so sorry you were disappointed not to see more of Ann’s works. We take tremendous pride in preserving Ann’s legacy and her work. Were you able to visit Ann’s room in the house where we have over 50 of her small pieces, her children’s books as well as some of her charcoal and pastels on paper? In addition her studio is filled with her works done in bronze, stone and wood as well as her original sculpting tools.

A breath of fresh air in its elegance and simplicity. A great place to visit and see the well groomed groom and the beautiful statues. Admission is a rather lame w at $8 for the elderly and offers a respite from the noise of commerce c and the clutter around. Nice place to run away

An oasis of calm
March 2017 • For two
How lucky we are to have these beautiful gardens in Palm Beach County. I couldn’t ask for a better way to spend the day walking 2+ acre paths of serentity and surrounded by fabulous sculptures. It was also nice to learn the history of Ann Norton and visit her studio which felt as if she still came and worked. During this visit, I was also thrilled to see Sophie Ryder’s gorgeous figure. I hope to visit again and dine al fresco in the garden.

A little different than I expected. Beautiful grounds and a treasure to be equipped. While some of the sculptures weren’t my cup of tea, I found peace and beauty nonetheless. The staff was friendly and competent. They even helped me get detailed information about the fabulous Dutch Pipe wine they planted there.

Little gem in residential area
Jan. 2017 • With friends
We thought we might have been given the wrong address, we were on a quiet residential street. The sculpture garden sign is very, very discreet, which is why we assumed it was a bit of a neighborhood restriction. However, it does add to the feeling that its been a private bore to which we are granted “special access”. The hotel is about 2 acres with winding paths where you “reveal” various shapes as you enter. One can comfortably see Norton’s figure and her room and the current exhibitions in the gallery and outside at around 1.5 pm. The little al fresco dining room where food is offered was very nice, but we didn’t eat there. I recommend.

New exhibitions
Jan. 2017 • For two
We went last year and found it a lot of fun. We were not enthusiastic about the figures of Ann Norton, but they are unique. This year there are 2 fresh exhibitions – figures of extinct birds and other large figures of animals made in the wire and the army of other books – extraordinary.

Sista’s birthday event
July 2017 • With friends
My sister is a teacher at Lewis Ginter Botanic Gardens in Richmond, VA, so I thought it would be a good birthday present to take her to the Mountain Botanical Gardens as part of her birthday celebration while she used to come to the area. Although I have lived in the area for 24 years, I have never been to the mountains, and especially I wanted to visit the new garden, “windows on a shaky world”. The gardens were beautiful and I really like the “window on the wobbly world” arrangement. The variety of gardens and plants was fun and it was a wonderful experience for both of us!

This is a nice little garden for a $5 donation. Unfortunately, the noise of the airport next door worsens the atmosphere. Their new floating garden is nice. If you are on a very long delay or stopover at West Palm Beach, be sure to try it. Morikami in Delray Beach. Their entrance fee is $15.

Fruitful adventure
June 2017 • Family fun
This is a pleasant visit with good walking paths through various plants and flowering trees. We went for Father’s Day to the Tropical Fruit Festival where we experienced a nutrition tasting of various tropical fruits, an educational lecture on the use and preservation of mangoes in all ripe levels, and we ended up buying a mango tree which was very exciting. the kids loved watching the fish in the koi pond. It’s a good day to go on an overcast or cool day, however, Shady way in different areas. It is equipped for the disabled as the path is paved. I know from past experiences that they have other events such as the fall festival and the Wildflower Festival. Bring your own insect repellent and sunscreen. This Festival had vendors who had different types of food relating to Wild Fruit

beautiful garden
oct. 2016
We went to the garden during the week of my birthday, it is a very beautiful garden full of different kinds of plants. My birthday is October so there was also a decor to celebrate Halloween and although I don’t take part in that holiday I did think the decor was cute/fun. Definitely a good place to relax, have a date, or even a little one time. I plan to come back here again.

Nice Garden
March 2017 • For Two
Very nice Botanical Garden with some really big trees and other types of plants. Even though it opens at 10:00 no one was there to open the gate until 10:20. Finally, someone showed up and opened the exit and said not to worry about the $5 deposit. Several people got tired of waiting and left. However, it was a good way to spend an hour away from walking.

Good juxtaposition from the bustling Palm Beach Airport!
Apr. 2017 • With friends
An ideal haven in a big city, with a very modest main entrance that is almost lost in relation to the industrial / commercial companies located nearby on the west bank of the P. be. I am the airport which is located across the road. It’s good early on a day trip as opposed to later to avoid the intense South Florida sun (and high humidity levels) typical of late spring, summer and early fall. There is a new garden under construction which is not opened it I would have liked to have a look but there were a lot of other flowering plants to see as spring is a good time to catch different flowers.
