I have an in-home daycare in West Chester, and we are looking for one more playmate, as one child in our current group is “aging out.”
I have an Early Childhood Degree, and I have been working as an Au Pair,Nanny, preschool teacher, and in-home daycare provider for about 25 years. We raised all four of our own children, now aged 20 to 24 years, right here in our house. My husband is a teacher.

Elmer Potter – Admiral Nimitz

On this resource you can read a book online for free online Elmer Potter – Admiral Nimitz. Genre: Biographies and Memoirs, AST publishing house, year 2003. On the site e-Knigi.com you can read the full version of the book online without registration and sms. You can also get acquainted with the content, description, preface about the work

Shortly before the end of the reception, the Americans saw Admiral Togo, heading along the path to the exit. Somewhat heated with wine, they decided to intercept him, and it was Nimitz who chose to invite the admiral to their table. Togo accepted the invitation with a smile and joined them. He shook hands with everyone, drank a sip of champagne, and spoke to them for several minutes in English, which he spoke well, having spent seven years in England, first as a student and then as an observer during the construction of a light cruiser. The admiral made a deep impression on Nimitz, who never saw him face to face again, but often paid homage to the memory of the old sea dog over the years.

Long-term friendly relations between the United States and Japan were sharply complicated after the stunning victory of the latter over one of the most populous Western powers[21].

For the Americans, the need to defend the newly annexed Philippine Islands from a (possibly) expansionist Japan has taken on new urgency. President Roosevelt’s mediation did nothing to save the old friendship. It brought the Russo-Japanese War to an end after the signing of the Pact of Portsmouth (in New Hampshire), but infuriated the Japanese, who were denied indemnities to restore the economy undermined during the war.

Under the circumstances, Roosevelt saw fit to withdraw all capital ships. When the Ohio sailed for the United States in mid-September 1906, Midshipmen Nimitz and Kanaga were among the remaining Americans, as both were transferred to the venerable cruiser Baltimore, which had fought alongside Dewey in the Battle of Manila Bay. Nimitz and Kanaga believed—perhaps rightly—that they selected and retained the most capable officers to serve in the East.

In a letter written to grandfather Nimitz on 12 December 19’06 in Cavite in the Philippines, Chester reported that he and other graduate midshipmen had passed their ensign exams, and the results were likely to be known at the end of January. Exam results didn’t bother him. Chester had other good news.

“I have already written to you about trying to get an assignment here on one of the gunboats. So, the authorities assured me that I would take command of the gunboat Panei as soon as she entered service. She would be ready in about two weeks and would be cruising among the southern islands of the Philippine group. Take a look at the map of this area and you will see for yourself how big it is. space. These small ships have no permanent mission – that is, they can go to any ports of their choice.Besides me, there will be another officer on board – McCain, who was in the course younger than me.The crew will consist of approximately 30 man, and I was allowed to recruit the future crew myself from the crew of my current ship, and they are almost all selected, so, as you can see, I will get a good team.0003

Although his former Spanish gunboat was only 92.5 feet long, Nimitz was thrilled to be her commander because, as he said: In addition, it should help me gain a certain confidence and ability to rely on myself.

On January 31, 1907, Chester and Bruce were promoted to Ensign. Nimitz soon departed Cavite on the Peney, and Kanaga was given command of a similar gunboat, the Paragua. They planned to go camping together, and carried out that decision when they could. Their job was to “show the flag” to the recently oppressed Filipinos and Moros living in the Sulu Archipelago, to provide assistance to the local population whenever possible and to solve problems when necessary. As it turned out, both young ensigns did not face serious problems. The patrol service became a time of exciting adventures for them.

In addition to the gunboat, Nimitz commanded a small unit at Pollock, Mindanao, with 22 Marines. “Figuratively speaking, I stood with one foot on the shore and the other in the sea,” Nimitz said, “but I lived on board the Peney. Those were great days. We had no radio, no mail, no fresh food supplies. We hunted a lot. One of the sailors even said that he could no longer look a duck in the eye.

However, this idyll was suddenly interrupted by events in other places. After the end of the Russo-Japanese War, Japanese veterans began to move to California in search of a new home, where they agreed to work for such little money that it undermined the job market on the West Coast. San Francisco responded by segregating Japanese schoolchildren, a hint of racial inferiority that infuriated the people of Japan. Under pressure from President Roosevelt, San Francisco agreed to put an end to this practice, and in response, the president entered into an agreement with Japan to restrict immigration. Then, holding back the Japanese warmongers, he announced 9July 1907 on the transfer of the fleet of American battleships from the Atlantic to San Francisco.

The threat of war caused the US Asiatic Fleet to develop a feverish activity that reached Pollock. In the end, the Japanese in 1904 did not hesitate to attack the Russian fleet, which had fifteen modern battleships against six Japanese ones. Togo and his admirals first destroyed the divided Russian Far Eastern squadron in parts, and then waited for the Russian Baltic squadron to arrive from the Atlantic and also defeated it. If Japan intended to use the same strategy against the American fleet, then the obvious place to start the war would be the Philippines, and the moment would be now, while the Atlantic Fleet had not yet arrived in the Pacific.

Nimitz and his Paney were called to the large naval base at Cavite. “Then there was so much talk about the war with Japan,” Nimitz recalled, “that when we approached Manila Bay, I almost sent reconnaissance ashore, wanting to make sure that we were still holding this place.

After mooring the gunboat, Nimitz put on a white uniform with a dagger and went ashore to report the arrival to the base commander, Rear Admiral Uriah Rose Harris, who was nicknamed “Uria Gip” by his subordinates. He was a strict boss with an icy face, who believed that smiles had no place in the service. Harris dryly informed Nimitz that he was appointed commander of the destroyer Decatur, which needed repairs, and should immediately take the ship to drydock. In announcing such an extraordinary appointment, the admiral could afford at least a slight paternal smile. It was not now, nor was it then, the order of the day to appoint twenty-two-year-old ensigns as destroyer commanders, even in times of grave danger. Of Nimitz’s contemporaries, whom fate then raised to high positions, Spruance received command of a destroyer at the age of

Kindergarten “Dragonfly” is open on the street. Zapadny Bypass, 22. More than 90 children already visit it, and their number is growing every day. Tickets are being issued now. During the morning working tour of the new educational institution, together with the parents of the pupils, the head of Krasnodar Evgeny Pervyshov looked.

— This is the 15th kindergarten built in Krasnodar over the past three years. Moreover, this educational institution is only the beginning of the construction of a whole complex of social facilities in this part of the city. The Western Bypass area is actively developing, precisely on the principle of parallel creation of social infrastructure and housing. We are completing a school next door to this kindergarten, and another one on the other side of the Western Bypass. In general, about 30 land plots have been reserved along this highway from the German Village to the Red Partizans for the construction of new schools, kindergartens, and clinics. A significant part of the territories is already in municipal ownership. And we understand exactly where the social facilities needed by residents will be built,” said Evgeny Pervyshov.

As Yevgeny Pervyshov added, the large-scale construction of schools and kindergartens in Krasnodar is carried out as part of the execution of instructions from the governor of the Kuban, Veniamin Kondratiev, and the tasks set by the townspeople.

The head of the city also noted that this land plot – for a kindergarten and a school – is the first that the developers donated to municipal ownership. Together with the project that has passed the state examination and already summed up communications.

Now Dragonfly is a branch of Kindergarten No. 64. In the future, it will become an independent institution. Required licensing kindergarten passed in December 2019at the same time, the recruitment of pupils began. In January 2020, classes began here.

Evgeny Pervyshov, together with the head of the kindergarten Galina Muzychenko and parents whose children are already attending kindergarten or have just booked vouchers here, walked around the territory and premises, looked at the game rooms, the catering department, a computer class, music, choreography and sports halls, a studio for creative work , medical block.

— We live very close by. Recently, constantly, literally from the windows, they watched the progress of the construction of this kindergarten. We got here very quickly. Spacious groups, landscaped area, wonderful teachers. Here are excellent conditions for our children,” said Anna Bastrygina, whose two sons went to this garden.

Alexander Zhuravlev, head of the Prikubansky district, also took part in the working detour.

Building area – more than 6.6 thousand square meters. m, consists of four two-story blocks. There are 14 groups in it, 2 of them are nurseries. The kindergarten will be able to accept up to 560 pupils.

Now 8 new schools and 5 kindergartens are being built in Krasnodar, about 30 more social facilities are in various stages of design and preparation for construction.

A total of 15 kindergartens have been built in Krasnodar over the past three years.
