Pozez JCC’s Early Childhood Learning Center is a licensed preschool and childcare facility that provides a safe and loving environment for children six weeks to five years old.

Our program emphasizes joyful Jewish experiences and values, and a connection to community.

Our school follows a Reggio Emilia-based philosophy and involves the children as an active part of their own learning and the direction it takes.

Our nurturing Educators use a developmental approach to understanding children’s abilities and enabling them to gain confidence and independence.

Our Philosophy of Learning

The Early Childhood Learning Center strives to help each child grow as an individual. We emphasize the development of self-confidence and a positive self-image. Our activities provide experiences to foster social skills and emotional maturity, as well as promote and strengthen cognitive and physical growth.

Our teaching philosophy follows a Reggio Emilia-inspired philosophy that is based on the following ideas:

• Children have a say over the direction of their learning
• Children are able to learn through hands-on learning experiences
• Children have a relationship with other children and material items to explore
• Children have endless ways and opportunities for creative thinking
• Our philosophy involves an emergent curriculum that builds on the interests of the children.

Educators serve as resources to, and researchers of, the learning process by asking thought-provoking questions, creating inviting classroom environments and documenting the children’s work for reflection and communication purposes.

JCCA Sheva Early Learning Framework

An integral part of the program is building a foundation for a positive Jewish identity. This Framework is a basis for the continued education of the children in our program which builds upon the foundations already in place through the Reggio Emilia-inspired philosophy.

Core principles include:

1. Children as Constructivist Learners: Kavod (respect) for each child’s ability to think for himself/herself

2. Early Childhood Directors as Visionaries: Our professional staff has the chochma (wisdom) to make sound decisions for their population

3. Early Childhood Educators as ProfessionalsOur Educators develop ahavat limud (love of learning) for themselves and their students

4. Families as Engaged Partners: Opportunities are provided throughout the year to build kehillah (community) between our families and staff

5.  Discover Coordinated Approach to Childhood Health (CATCH): Emphasis on the Jewish value of sh’mirat ha’guf (taking care of our bodies) through nutrition and exercise

6. Israel as the Story of the Jewish People: Further learning about Israel to educate our students and their families about the story of the Jewish people

7. Environments as Inspiration for Inquiry: The concept of the environment as inspiration for inquiry — spaces are intentionally designed to encourage curiosity, intellectual engagement, and creativity

Welcome!

We are glad to welcome you on the official website of MBDOU No. 238 of the Proletarsky district of Rostov-on-Don

More than 50 years ago, our kindergarten hospitably opened its doors to its first preschoolers. The kindergarten is really old-timer, but this does not prevent it from being modern. And already the very first pupils bring their children and grandchildren to us with pleasure.

High professionalism, creative approach to working with children, kindness – these are the features that characterize the teaching staff of our kindergarten.

Kindergarten implements the basic general education program of preschool education in accordance with the Federal State Educational Standards for Preschool Education and the comprehensive program “From Birth to School” ed. N.E. Veraksy. The educational program implemented by teachers ensures a high level of intellectual, artistic, creative and musical development. The use of modern technologies, including project activities, helps to ensure the emotional well-being of the child, the development of independence, cognitive activity, self-expression through art, and physical development. We are convinced that constant and unswerving care for the spiritual comfort and well-being of the child, its harmonious development will certainly bring the expected result – the disclosure of the individuality and creative abilities of your baby.
