Welcome to Our School
Welcome to Childtime in Columbia, MD! Whether it’s providing loving care for Infants or participating in our Preschool programs, I love what I do each day and that is watching the children grow and learn. Our curriculum provides exciting hands-on activities with individualized lesson plans that inspire creativity and a love of learning. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment and maintain an open-door policy for anyone who would like to talk.
The staff here is second to none. They receive monthly training and participate in various other training opportunities offered in the community. We exceed the yearly training requirements imposed by the state of Maryland, and we are also trained in First Aid and CPR, as well as Medication Administration and Emergency Preparedness. Safety is also a priority of ours. The main entrance is secured by a unique keypad access system and we ID everyone that enters.
Our school is located off of Snowden River Parkway in Snowden Center, tucked away in a quiet little corner of Columbia between Oakland Mills Rd. and Oak Hall Ln., next to the My Gym Children’s Fitness Center.

Washington, D.C. and its environs are home to numerous national parks, but the city also offers the United States Botanical Garden (100 Maryland Avenue SW, Washington, D. C., 20001), a museum of living plants that informs more than a million people annually. visitors about the importance of plants not only for people, but also for the Earth’s ecosystems as a whole. Below we have listed the reasons why the Botanical Garden should be on your list of places to visit when visiting the nation’s capital.
Visiting the US Botanical Garden and seeing all of its wonderful features is free for the whole family. Its conservatory and National Garden are open every day of the year from 10am to 7pm, and the National Garden is open until 5pm from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Bartholdi Park is open every day from dawn to dusk.

The history of the US Botanic Gardens is similar to that of the US itself, as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison wanted to establish a national botanical garden, and their efforts eventually led to the creation of one at the National Trade Center in 1820. The botanical garden has been continuously functioning since 1850, and in its present place – since 1933 years.
One of the pearls of the Botanical Garden is the Conservatory, a greenhouse consisting of two courtyard gardens and 10 garden rooms under glass. The permanent exhibits and gardens located inside offer a wide range of plants and environments, providing an all-round experience that engages your sight, smell and sound.
Orchid – one of the most mythical and beautiful plants in the world – one of the main attractions of the Conservatory. An entire area is dedicated to the ever-blooming, ever-changing plant species. In total, the Botanical Garden has about 5,000 orchids, hundreds of which are available for viewing on any given day.
The hotel is located opposite Independence Avenue from the Conservatory of the Botanical Garden. Bartholdy Park This two-acre space is perfect for peaceful isolation, with canopied benches that provide shade in the summer and catch sunlight in the winter. The magnificent Bartholdi Fountain is a mesmerizing sight. And of course, the park also offers a stunning variety of plants, from evergreens to perennials, roses and bulbs.

Okay, not literally. However, there is a World Deserts room in the Botanical Garden where you will find succulents, shrubs, herbs and a number of other flowering plants that are called the home of the desert.
Three Acres National Garden showcases Mid-Atlantic environments and plants from across the country. Key features include the Rose Garden, which highlights roses native to the Mid-Atlantic, and the First Ladies Water Garden, which celebrates the contributions of the first ladies of the United States. This outdoor lab also serves as a great mentor for beginning gardeners.
Kindergarten is a great outdoor space to entertain children and awaken their curiosity about the natural world. Kids can use gardening tools, touch and smell plants, tunnel vines, dig, enjoy the climbing platform and more. And, most importantly, parents can take a seat in a shaded area.
US Botanical Garden
In keeping with its mission to conserve plants and educate the public about their great importance, the US Botanic Gardens offers an area dedicated exclusively to rare and endangered plant species. The changing display highlights plants you’d be hard pressed to find elsewhere. Check out the online gallery before you leave.
The Botanical Garden is decorated for the holidays thanks to this annual exhibition. This year, the model train will run through classic train stations such as Grand Central Station in New York, Union Station in St. Louis, and many more. Inside the conservatory, you’ll also find a garden collection of DC’s iconic landmarks, including a model of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and a poinsettia display case.
