Driscoll Children’s Hospital offers the Children’s Learning Center  – an on-site, high-quality childcare center for the children of our employees.

Driscoll Children’s Learning Center strives to partner with families in the joys and challenges of parenting by providing a high-quality, nurturing program that supports the growth and development of children socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually while fostering their love of learning.

Hours of Operation

The hours of operation for the center are Monday through Friday, 5:45 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. We offer the flexible scheduling that rotating schedules need. We offer programs for infants through preschool-age children.

Accreditation

Driscoll Children’s Learning Center has achieved national accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

The NAEYC accreditation is the gold standard for childcare centers. In fact, only 7% of childcare centers achieve this honor nationwide. Additionally, our center is only the second in Corpus Christi to obtain this accreditation.

A new kindergarten was opened in Samara in the Oktyabrsky district

On Thursday, November 3, the Governor of the Samara Region Dmitry Azarov together with the Head of Samara Elena Lapushkina , State Duma Deputy Alexander Khinshtein , future pupils and their parents assessed the possibilities of a new kindergarten on Podshipnikova, 27 in the Oktyabrsky district Samara – one one of the most densely populated in the regional capital.

A new modern two-story kindergarten building, built thanks to the Demography national project initiated by the President of the country Vladimir Putin, is ready to open its doors for 112 children aged 1. 5 to 7 years.

“I hope that this kindergarten will become a real second home for the children, their pupils. Of course, nothing can replace the warmth of relatives and friends, but the attitude of teachers, the head of the kindergarten suggests that they will try to make the children interesting, tasty, so that parents feel that the child is safe, under supervision, receives new knowledge. Everything for this is here – both the most modern equipment and all the conditions for the development of children”, – Dmitry Azarov turned to the parents of the pupils of the new kindergarten.

Comfortable conditions for the education, development and leisure of children, including children with special needs, have been created in the new building. 6 groups will be opened here, 4 of them are general developmental and 2 groups for children with disabilities.

The staff of experienced, qualified teachers has already been formed. Among them there is a psychologist, a speech therapist, a defectologist, specialists who will help children develop, realize their talents and abilities.

Particular attention during construction was paid to safety issues. To ensure it, a video surveillance system, an access control system, a burglar alarm and emergency communications are provided. Round-the-clock watch is carried out by employees of a private security company.

Head of Samara Elena Lapushkina recalled that a few years ago there was an abandoned building on the site of a new modern kindergarten. “Now children’s laughter will be heard here, here qualified educators and teachers will work with our children. It is very important for the city. I want to say thank you to the Governor for giving the municipality a real opportunity to quickly resolve topical issues with the queue for kindergartens and schools, – noted Elena Lapushkina, thanking the Head of the region for his support. – Let childhood be happy, and parents – calm.

Of course, parents of preschoolers are most excited about the new kindergarten.

“Parents waited impatiently, called, asked when the kindergarten would open. The kindergarten turned out to be very beautiful, modern, with large rooms, equipped with everything necessary for working with children, including those with disabilities” , – said the head of kindergarten No. 291 Natalya Sipailova.

“This is a wonderful kindergarten, we have been waiting a long time to get here. This is the place where you go and feel how much kindness and warmth have been invested here. Everything is very beautiful, pleasing to the eye. Very spacious bedrooms, everything is clean, everything is for children. The kids are happy and the parents are, of course, too. Such an object is very important for Samara, for all parents, for our entire society, – said the mother of one of the pupils of the new kindergarten. – Now Russia has difficult times, but life does not stop. Our men are fighting for our future there, so that our children can feel safe here, grow, learn, develop.”

Over the past two years, two buildings of school No. 26 with a preschool department and a new kindergarten on Podshipnikovaya Street have been built in the Oktyabrsky district, thanks to which it was possible to significantly reduce the burden on educational institutions in the district.

“And we will continue this work, create all the opportunities for talented children to grow up here, in the region, create conditions for their self-realization, – assured the Governor. – All this would not have been possible without the national projects initiated by the President of the country Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. Thanks to such support, despite the special period, we have not stopped a single construction site, a single facility, or a single state regional program. On the contrary, we are trying to accelerate in all areas of development of our region: the construction of kindergartens, schools, medical institutions, sports and recreation centers, cultural institutions. These, of course, are our priorities, because we understand that the most important wealth of our region is talented, energetic people, people who make their plans and connect them with their native land, raise children, bread, and I am sure that will do much for the prosperity of our native land. And the youngest citizens who are just going to the nursery, I am sure, will pick up this banner of high achievements.”

About the project
