Alumni of the “Rassvet” school shared their memories of studying at elementary school and talked about their plans for the future life

Graduates of the school “Rassvet”

August 29, a meeting of graduates of the preschool department of the Federal Resource Center for the organization of comprehensive support for children with autism spectrum disorders (RASsvet school) was held.

The meeting was held in an informal setting at the teacher’s school. It was attended by graduates and the head teacher of the school Maria BERESLAVSKAYA. “Rassvet” is an elementary school operating within the structure of the FRC MSUPE. This school teaches children with ASD from grades 1 to 4 in four different adapted general education programs (AOEP) for children with ASD. After graduating from primary school, these children go to study in other educational institutions, already prepared for life in a regular school – both in terms of the educational program and in terms of communication skills.

At the moment, the average age of the graduates who took part in the meeting is 18 years old . All of them successfully entered colleges and universities. The children will master the professions of a financier, engineer, landscape designer, pastry chef and many others.

Everyone has a very different life path and plans for adulthood. For example, Vasily BOROVKOV, a graduate of the Rassvet school, shared with the correspondent of the MSUPU Press Service:

– Vasily, please tell us what you remember from elementary school?

– What I remember most from elementary school was acquiring social skills, because I rarely went to kindergarten due to family reasons. Of the first four classes, the first thing I remember was communication with people. Secondly, I remember the study itself: how to perceive information, how to write it down correctly, so that later at home I can figure out how to listen to the teacher, what conclusions to draw.

– What difficulties did you face when you finished elementary school?

– Despite the fact that, as I said, I have acquired social skills, nevertheless, I have an introverted personality type. There were some difficulties with mutual understanding with peers, with teachers, with various members of the social groups that I was a part of – the football and volleyball sections.

– Where are you studying now? Did you go somewhere?

– I am a freshman at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation. In the Russian Federation, there is such a problem – I independently identified it – there are many people with diplomas, but few high-quality specialists who really understand their profession. They study “for the sake of crust. ” I want to understand economics, finance, cash flow – not even to get a high-paying job. First of all, I am interested in understanding how this sphere of social life works.

Such stories prove that it is possible to lead a full happy life with autism spectrum disorders if a child with ASD is surrounded by caring and loving people, qualified teachers and psychologists. Children with ASD grow up into full-fledged teenagers and successfully find jobs and enter higher educational institutions. Many of them successfully cope with autism. And for sure they all make new friends.

School “Rassvet” is a structure within the MSUPE that helps children with ASD and their parents in this difficult task – overcoming autism, acquiring social skills and mastering the primary school curriculum. It allows you to prepare a child with ASD for a full-fledged independent life and study in a comprehensive secondary school.
