Cutest Mixed Dog Breeds | Best Crossbreed Dogs

In the world of canine competition, mutts are usually unfairly the underdogs. Yes, we never know which gene is going to prevail and possibly turn a cute little puppy into a disproportionately funny-looking pooch. However, after centuries of cross-breeding and mixing, recognisable combos have been created and they are winning our hearts with their uniqueness and beauty.

Many cross-bred dogs have even been given creative names, a combination of their parents’ breed names and this trend has made a whole new category of super cute dogs that you’ll fall in love with immediately! Here are 12 of our favourite mixed-breed dogs.

Labradoodle – Labrador and Poodle

This famous mutt definitely encompasses the best features of a Labrador and a Poodle. Labradoodles can come in all shapes and sizes but depend on the Poodle type and which breed characteristics end up being predominant.

Nevertheless, Labradoodles are usually recognisable for their goofiness, wits and friendly personality of a Labrador and the curly thick Poodle coat. Definitely a keeper!

Border Aussie – Border Collie and Australian Shepherd

The Border Collie Australian Shepherd Mix is another unique-looking,  smart and loyal hybrid. They resemble the Collie more, although their mixed genes can make a fantastic mixture of coat and eye colours, which makes them even more interesting. Border Aussies are also susceptible to heterochromia, so you never actually know what you’re going to get with this fantastic cross-breeding. Nevertheless, these dogs are definitely showstoppers.

Pomsky – Pomeranian and Husky

Have you ever wanted a flat-friendly Husky? This adorable cross-breed is just the thing! Pomskys usually get the piercing blue eyes, the pointy ears, and thick fur of a Husky, but everything just packed in Pomeranian size. Both breeds are quite self-sufficient and wild however, so a Pomsky is no less of a handful!

Schnoodle – Schnauzer and Poodle

Another Poodle mixture deserves a place on this list since it’s just an overload of cuteness. While it basically looks like a slightly smaller poodle, this embodiment of loveliness can inherit the friendly-looking face expression and a posture of a Schnauzer. Schnoodles are very approachable and playful, which only adds to their natural cuteness.

Morkie – Maltese and Yorkie

Morkies look more like the Yorkie breed but get the soft white fur and small fluffy face of a Maltese. But don’t be fooled by their charm as Morkies get really hyperactive and naughty when kept indoors for too long.

Chug – Chihuahua and Pug

Toy-like body, the worried look, droopy ears, and a cute underbite- who wouldn’t love this Chihuahua – Pug hybrid! Be careful about their temperament though, since these two breeds are quite different in character.

Boxador – Labrador Retriever and Boxer

What makes Boxadors so unbelievably cute is the clashing combo of their parents’ features. The sturdy, muscular Boxer body combined with a small goofy Labrador face make this weirdly beautiful family dog.

Bullpug – English Bulldog and Pug

Who knew these two dopey breeds could make such a cute little thing! When you look at Bullpug’s legs and body language you assume he’s ready to attack, but then you get to see his innocent, mild face expression and it’s clear this dog is just ready to cuddle all day long. Things can’t get cuter than that!

Horgi – Husky and Corgi

Husky genes tend to be predominant in these cross-breeds, but this little pooch definitely inherited his stumpiness from the Corgi. Just wait till you see this guy run towards you and you won’t be able to stop smiling. Again, be aware of the fact that Huskies are not extremely attached to humans, so you may have to look for a different breed to find a more loyal and devoted companion.

German Shar Pei – German Shepherd and Shar-pei

The narrow, squinty eyes and the innocent look of a Shar-pei combined with the pointy nose and erect ears of a German Shepherd just don’t go together. Or do they? With this mutt, you can really see the two breed traits mixed in a very interesting-looking dog. As far as personality goes, these dogs are truly gentle giants.

Golden Husky/Goberian – Golden Retriever and Siberian Husky

The lack of inspiration for names does not diminish the majestic quirkiness of this hybrid breed. The beautiful golden fur combined with ocean Husky eyes is just mesmerizing.  If you’re lucky to get a mutt with Golden Retriever’s temperament, this can be a great family dog that will definitely turn heads.

Cocker Pug – Cocker Spaniel and Pug

Once again, the Pug strikes. However, Cocker Pugs can turn out really cute with droopy long ears and round friendly eyes, resembling a Cocker Spaniel. A lovely combination, for sure.

Final thoughts

This is solid proof that cross-bred dogs can be just as adorable as the purebred ones. What’s more, mutts are just a combination of the best features two breeds can combine, giving the most specific and individual creatures worthy of admiration.

These Cross-Breed Dogs Will Make You Fall In Love With Mutts

Dogs are probably one of the most diverse-looking species on the planet. Hundreds of years of breeding has created a wide range of unique breeds with drastically different colors, coats, sizes, and shapes. But what happens when you take some of these distinctive breeds and combine their most notable properties? You get these adorable cute dogs, which combine the best of both of their breeds.

It is debatable whether the mutts or the purebreds are, so to say, better. Purebreds have a predictable set of characteristics like size, color, and temperament that ensures that you know, more or less, what your puppy will grow up to be. However, purebreds are usually far more susceptible to genetic diseases. Mixed breed dogs tend to be healthier in this respect, but they can have behavioral problems (especially if they’ve been adopted). Also, if you get a crossbreed puppy, you may have no idea how big that dog will get – 20 lbs or 50.

The other bright side of these cutest mixed dog breeds it’s their ‘breed’ names. Did you know, that a mix of a Corgi and a Poodle is named Corgipoo? Or that a Schnoodle is a Schnauzer and a Poodle mix? With these clever breed names, you don’t even have to bother actually naming your mutt dog.

Maltese mix: the cutest and most cuddly mixed breeds! nine0001

The Maltese is one of the friendliest and most dependable puppies out there and is always a pleasure to have around!

Today it is one of the oldest breeds in the world. In the past, Maltese dogs were known to be rich and luxurious puppies! Maltese were the favorites of Marie Antoinette and Elizabeth Taylor.

It is also believed that the ancient Greeks worshiped the Maltese, as they were even depicted in famous paintings of the time.

Many different mixed breeds of Maltese roam the land today. Below are some of the most common and popular Maltese mixes we know today! nine0003

1.

Maltipoo (poodle-maltese mix)

Maltipoo is a mix of Maltese poodles and they are known for being affectionate dogs as well as adorable and fun little creatures. They are definitely a great companion! Just make sure you have plenty of puzzle toys and educational activities, as poodles are some of the smartest dogs out there and this mix will need a way to keep themselves occupied.

2. Malshi (a mixture of Shih Tzu and Maltese)

These little Malchi fur balls are just adorable! The Maltese Shih Tzu will make you laugh and play all day long. Both breeds are known to make adorable house dogs, so this furry buddy is sure to make a cozy companion. The Maltese-Shih Tzu mix is one of the most popular designer dogs, and it’s no wonder why – just look at that sweet face! nine0003

3. Malchi (Chihuahua-Maltese mix)

Malchi is a Maltese-Chihuahua mix and a pint-sized cutie. Imagine looking at this puppy every morning! Malchi is a great listener and loves to follow his favorite giant (yes, I’m talking about you). The Chihuahua can be a sensitive little guy and this Maltese Chihuahua mix is no different, so respect his autonomy and help him gain the confidence to provide a happy, well-adjusted pup. nine0003

4. Morkies (Yorkshire Terrier/Maltese mix)

Morkies are a truly charming combination as they are a mix of Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier. They are known for their playfulness and exuberance, as well as lots of hugs. Even though this Maltese Yorkie mix is small, it has a lot of brains, so consider training games or even dog sports. Just keep an eye on this little one – you won’t want to lose him at home!

5. Maltigle (beagle and maltese mix)

Multigles are good for everyone! These designer dogs are child-friendly and affectionate little puppies, although they are a bit tricky to train because they tend to be stubborn with the classic Beagle temperament.

6. Maltichon (mixture of Bichons and Maltese)

Maltichons are one of the most fearless creatures, but very gentle with their family, like a cross between a Bichon Frise and a Maltese. As a calm and affectionate dog, they are one of the most common Maltese and excellent therapy dogs! Be sure to use this as an excuse to get one 😉

7. Maltipig (a cross between a pug and a Maltese)

Maltipag is a cross between a Maltese and a pug! These little guys are good-natured and make fantastic family dogs, with both parent breeds being quite reserved. If your hybrid dog has that wrinkled nose that pugs are known for, keep an eye out for walks, as you don’t want this little guy to overexert himself with breathing issues.

8. Maltipome (Pomeranian-Maltese mix)

Malitpom is a magnificent hybrid dog with a luxurious coat, combining a Maltese and a Pomeranian! This small Pomeranian mixed breed, in particular, may need constant grooming due to its long coat. This hybrid dog also loves adorable hairstyles, so if your pup wants that, try a hair bow!

9. Cavamalt (a mix of Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Maltese)

Cavamalt is a mix of Maltese and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Since both of these parent breeds are known for their sweet, docile temperaments, it’s no wonder the Cavamalt is a fan favorite! Expect long, silky locks from this hybrid dog – you’ll probably need to dedicate at least some time to grooming and regular brushing. nine0003

10. Silky Cocker (Cocker Spaniel/Maltese mix)

Silky Cocker is an adorable mix of Maltese and Cocker Spaniel! The Maltese tends to be a fairly calm lapdog and the Cocker Spaniel is a bird breed, so expect this mix to have a bit more energy than your average Maltese. We believe this hybrid breed is ideal for those looking for a tiny walking companion.

11. Caltese (Cairn Terrier/Maltese mix)

Caltese is a cross between a Maltese and a Cairn Terrier. As you can imagine, crossbreeding with the Terrier parent breed means this energetic little pup has quite a lot of energy. The Cairn Terrier is one of the working dog breeds, so you’ll probably want this little fiery pet to be well trained and mentally retarded. It will be a great choice for agility or other dog sports!

12. Scottish (mix of Scottish Terrier and Maltese)

Scottez is a cross between a Maltese and a Scottish Terrier. This cute pup is likely to be independent and strong-willed with the energy of a terrier. This Maltese terrier mix can turn out to be pretty smart, so make sure he’s busy and busy – the Scot probably won’t enjoy being bored (and trust us, you won’t either).

13. Mauser (a cross between a Miniature Schnauzer and a Maltese)

A Mauser is a cross between a Maltese and a Miniature Schnauzer. This hybrid dog is most likely to be a masculine guy full of energy and personality! The Mauzer is likely to inherit the Miniature Schnauzer’s impressive intelligence, so be sure to give him plenty of stimulating toys and activities to keep him occupied. Since Schnauzers have traditionally been used as hunting dogs, lure coursing would be a fun sport for this guy! nine0003

We miss that mighty mustache that schnauzers are famous for. Will Mauzer inherit them? It’s hard to say for sure, but it’s always possible!

14. Maltese pin (a cross between a Miniature Pinscher and a Maltese)

The Maltese Pinscher is a cross between a Maltese and a Miniature Pinscher. As another breed that was bred to hunt vermin (specifically rats), this Mini Pinscher cross will most likely enjoy harassing squirrels in your hard while still managing to look as cute as a button. nine0003

15. Yatese (Japanese Chinha/Maltese Chin mix)

Yatese is a Maltese/Japanese Chin mix. As you can imagine, this hybrid dog can become one great puppy! The Yatese likely has a long, silky coat with the potential for unique Japanese Chin markings.

16. Boston Malterrier (Boston Terrier/Maltese mix)

Boston Malterrier is a mix of Maltese and Boston Terrier. This puppy probably combines the best of both worlds – the loving, gentle nature of the Maltese combined with the goofy, hysterical antics of the Boston Terrier.
