My son has been attending the infants class since he was 2 months old (he’s now almost 8 months). He loves going to daycare! The infant teachers are wonderful people who have worked with him to help him progress through milestones. I would love for him to develop a love of reading so I send him to school with books everyday and they read the books together. I would definitely recommend Creative Schools at Davis Park– it feels like they really care about your baby.

My daughter attended from 3 months old until she started kindergarten. The staff was great and showed a lot of love and care for all the kids. I loved the curriculum that they have and my daughter is off to a great start thanks in part to that. The facilities are great and the kids stay active with fun and learning. Being able to check in anytime I needed through the school’s webcam was a great bonus, and I always felt welcome if I needed to just go to check in on my daughter. Highly recommend this facility.

My daughter goes here since she was 4.5 months- she is now 2 years and 9 months. The staff are very caring and i feel comfortable and safe dropping my daughter there every morning. Noora has had issues during transition and the staff have been attentive to my concerns and tried to make it better for us- it worked! Also, Ms. Vanessa is a great director! I could see numerous enhancements with regards to extra- curricular activities ever since she became the director. Thanks you, Creative Schools staff!

Murray Davis Park – KC Parks and Rec
The Park
Murray Davis Park is a small (.09 acres) island of property located in the Westport area of Kansas City. The island was created when there was an adjustment of Main Street’s direction in the early 1920s. There is a monument in the park that is dedicated to Murray Davis, a Kansas City resident who was killed in World War I. The park and monument are cared for by the Parks and Recreation Department. The local organization Main Street Corridor Development Corporation also assists with maintenance.
History
Murray Davis was born in Burlingame, Kansas on Sept. 24, 1887. His family moved to Kansas City in 1889 and Murray attended Central High School. He graduated from the University of Missouri law school in 1909. He was a lawyer in Kansas City and also donated time to the Free Legal Aid Bureau and the Swope Settlement House. He was held in very high regard by his local legal colleagues.
He joined the army and worked his way up from Private to Major in the 140th Infantry, 35th Division. Davis worked in various legal capacities while in the army but he was adamant about taking an active part in combat. He was killed in the Battle of the Argonne Forest in France on Sept. 29, 1918 (four days after he’d turned 31 years old). His last words were said to have been, “Take care of my men.” The battle was important but very costly in terms of casualties and losses.
The island at 40th and Main Streets was dedicated as “Murray Davis Square” on Memorial Day, 1927 (May 30th) by the City of Kansas City. The monument was not placed there at this time but there was a dedication program for the naming of the property involving Davis’ family members, former Army comrades, speakers, and other people there to honor him including members of the Murray Davis post of the American Legion.
The monument was dedicated on Memorial Day 1928. It is made of pink Tennessee marble. It was designed by Kansas City architects Wight and Wight and was constructed by the Kansas City Marble and Tile Company. Its cost was about $10,000. The inscription represents his death in battle and includes: “Killed in action at Exermont France September Twenty-ninth MCMXVIII. A kindly just and beloved officer wise in counsel resolute in action courageous unto death”
The 1928 dedication was attended by a large crowd and had a number of city officials and representatives of the American Legion who participated in the program. Speeches were given by Mayor Albert Beach, City Manager H. F. McElroy, James Nourse of the American Legion, and others.
At the time of the dedication and placement of the memorial the island was city property under the auspices of the Public Works Department. It was accepted as park property by the Kansas City Park Department and dedicated as a park in 1931.
Improvements
In October of 2022, improvements facilitated by Midtown KC Now with funding from an AARP Community Challenge Grant and the Main Street CID, included the planting of six pear trees and two serviceberry trees by the Giving Grove, cleaning of the monument and installation of a new flag. Other improvements include landscaping, sprinkler system, two chess tables, new path around the monument, and an art wrap on electrical box.

About us people talk
and now a little about my path: I have been studying at KVADRAT for 4 years already, and I would have continued if it weren’t for graduation. I love this place for the creative atmosphere that prevails here: all the guys are really interested in work, it’s nice to work in such a team. Special thanks to the teachers who will answer any question that arises – this is a very important aspect in learning something. I will never forget the 6 or more hours spent here at work, after which there is not even fatigue, but only the desire to continue working further! I will also say for those who are looking for something serious, to enter good universities, this is what you need, the main thing is your own initiative! “Kvadrat” – love forever (and Irina Alexandrovna, who makes it an even more spiritual place, without weakening the working mood). nine0004
Alla Antonova (Ryabinina)
Gen. director of LLC “SantekhStroyGrad”
Great place for creativity! I attend an adult drawing group. We have a motto: if you want to draw – age is not a hindrance. Great team. A wonderful teacher of painting Danila Andreevich. He teaches us not just to draw pictures, but to understand the essence of what is happening on them.
Culture, creativity, pleasant communication, self-realization. What else do we adults need?
I didn’t know how to draw before, but I really wanted to. Dream come true!!! nine0003 Of course, a huge plus is a completely democratic price for such high-quality training.
There is a desire to draw – discard all doubts, brushes and pencils at the ready and to the easel!!!
Anzhelika Popova
Art Director of the Radio City Company
Yesterday I attended the first lesson for adults. I was impressed all day long. Yes, and today I feel a pleasant tone – I realize that I received an incentive to move forward for the whole week. The most important thing that gave me the “Square” at this stage – the confidence that I will succeed. And I will no longer be afraid of other people’s assessments. In one three-hour session, I learned: 1. understand how to make a drawing voluminous and began to practice; 2. not be afraid to draw in a group and discuss work. The second point is more important to me. Since, in fact, they helped me get rid of the problem that I avoided and was afraid of. It turned out primarily thanks to the creative and pedagogical talents of Danila Andreevich Burlak, and of course other newcomers. In addition to new knowledge, I received a lot of pleasant emotions. I look forward to the next meeting. I thank the head of the school Irina Aleksandrovna for opening the school. I wish you success, creative heights, opening of new branches!!!! THANK YOU for doing this! nine0004
