University of Chester is a public university located in Chester, England, which is 2 hours from London by train. The university was founded in 1839 as the first teachers’ college in Great Britain. As a university, it now occupies five campuses in and around Chester, one in Warrington and a university center in Shrewsbury.

The University is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Cathedral Group, the North West Association of Universities and the Universities of Great Britain. nine0005

Approximately 14,900 students study here, of which 10,800 are in Bachelor’s programs and 4,100 are in Master’s programs. Most students at the University of Chester are British. There are also a small number of international students (about 1000).

Master programs for doctors

Chester University conducts 1-year programs of the magistracy for students , who have received a bachelor’s degree in the field of medicine and adjacent sciences in Russia and having experience in work in work in Russia.

In the process of studying, students can work as part-time nurse assistants, get acquainted with the peculiarities of the healthcare system in the UK.

An important point is the active study of English in order to have an IELTS level of 7.5 at the end of the course (from 7.0 for each component), as well as to prepare for the professional medical and linguistic exam if the student plans to apply for a job in the UK in the field medicine.

At the end of their studies, students can take the PLAB qualification exam, practice in British hospitals , and this in turn will give them the opportunity to work in the UK in their specialty. nine0005

Chester University was founded as a Chester diocesan training college in 1839 by an outstanding group of local figures of the Anglican Church, including future premieres William Ewart Gladstone and 14th Earl of Derby. It was the first purpose-built teachers’ college in the UK, making it one of the oldest higher education institutions in the UK. At 19In 21, Chester officially became an affiliated college of the University of Liverpool, which meant that the University of Liverpool awarded qualifications to graduates of the University of Chester, and students of the latter could use the educational facilities of the University of Liverpool.

In the early 1990s, the School of Nursing and Midwifery (now the Faculty of Health and Social Care) was founded, the Bachelor of Theology, Master’s and PhD programs began to be offered, and a £10 million campus renovation program began. nine0005

Due to its long association with the University of Liverpool, the University of Chester continued to award University of Liverpool degrees until the 2005 admissions.

In 2005, University College Chester received full university status and became the University of Chester. This was followed by the right to award one’s own degrees in 2007 already validated by the University of Chester by the University of Liverpool.

In 2010, the Center for Work Related Research (CWRS) was praised by the UK Quality Authority for its radically flexible and high-quality practice-based learning system – allowing students to tailor their specialization, learn by doing. In recent years the university has expanded, taking over many temporarily unused buildings in Chester and building many student apartments.

In 2014, Loyd Grossman, who received an honorary degree from the university, officially opened the Northwest Food Research Center (NoWFOOD).

University of Chester campuses

The University of Chester has five campuses in and around Chester, one in Warrington and a university center in Shrewsbury. The 32,000-acre (130,000 m2) Parkgate Road Campus in Chester is located on Parkgate Road, just north of the city walls. The campus has a fitness center, gym, swimming pool, science and language labs, bar, bookstore, and bank. nine0005

Some departments are within walking distance of the main campus.

In 2015, the university purchased the former main building of Lloyds Bank in Queen’s Park. It houses the Faculty of Business and Management and the School of Business. The university has modernized equipment at Bridge House and Churchill House, and 2,700 students study here.

The Warrington Campus includes the Northwest Media Center, which has close ties to Granada Television, the Warrington School of Management, Social Sciences and Health and Welfare. The Warrington campus is also the training ground for the Warrington Wolves rugby league team and the city of Warrington was the site of the 2013 Rugby League World Cup where the campus hosted players from Samoa. nine0005

In autumn 2015, the university opened a sister institution at Guildhall and Rowley House, Shrewsbury, Shropshire, in partnership with Shropshire Council to establish the Shrewsbury University Centre.

Student accommodation is organized by the University of Chester in residences and small houses owned by the University. Accommodation is intended primarily for first-year students and international students. The price includes heating, wifi, electricity, gas. Meals are not included. nine0005
