Proven, Traditional Education

Legacy Traditional Schools has seen great success with our Back-to-Basics approach to learning. It’s a way to stick to what works in education, to challenge students, and really focus on developing highly-capable learners.

Some things that make our approach so successful include an accelerated pace of study, high expectations for academics and behavior, self-contained K-6 classrooms, bell-to-bell instruction, integrated Language Arts curriculum (Spalding), accelerated mathematics (enVision), and more.

At Legacy, we also pay close attention to developing character in all of our students. We know that parents want their children to be community-minded and to strive to make a difference in the world. That’s our goal, too!

Every day our students learn and live the principles found in our Standards of Citizenship, which include citizenship, loyalty, responsibility, and service. Your child will begin to make commitments to do their very best at all times, and the results are incredible.

Programs designed with each student in mind

We’re committed to help each of our students win—in and out of the classroom. We’ve designed our school day to help develop all of the important characteristics that make successful, well-rounded kids. We don’t cut the programs that inspire kids—we expand them! Here are a couple of our most popular enrichment programs.

Mozart Performing Arts

Music is one of the best ways for children to express themselves, and it provides an avenue for learning that just doesn’t exist in other disciplines. Our Mozart Performing Arts Program encourages students to expand their passion for music and performance.

Momentum Fitness Program

We want our students to create foundations of health, athleticism, and confidence from an early age. That’s why we created our Momentum Fitness Program. Your child won’t have P.E. once a week for a half-hour. They will participate in 30-50 minutes of age-appropriate physical exercise four days a week!

We Teach like You’d Teach

We know that parents value education because they care about their children. They know that a good education means better opportunities for their children. They know that a good education should include a safe place to learn and grow. They want their child to have the very best. We value education for those same reasons! We want our campuses to be an extension of the home, where we teach the way you would teach – with care for each student.

A Well-Rounded Approach

Some schools only focus on test scores and impersonal numbers. Others teach just enough to give their students the bare minimum. We recognize that the time spent in school during a student’s formative years should not be wasted. We focus on growing complete students—students who learn how to be successful in every area of their lives. When a school and it’s curriculum focuses on the student rather than scores, we think great things happen. Scores will improve. Talents will shine. Character will govern. And our students will win.

Anatomy of a Day at Legacy

It’s important that our students be prepared for big things in their lives, and every day we work to ensure they learn everything they need to know. A lot goes into each day at Legacy, and our students leave campus knowing they did their very best.

Programs at the Heart of the Legacy Experience

We’ve selected proven curriculum and programs designed to help each student. You’ll see that our experience and knowledge has led to a comprehensive set of tools that is unmatched in the educational world.

enVision Math

enVision focuses on deep conceptual math understanding aided by visual models, student-centered school projects, three- act tasks, and personalized learning. enVision is set up in units where lessons will progress from introduction to more complex usage.

Spalding Language Arts

At Legacy, we use the Spalding Language Arts curriculum. This is a time-tested program and educational philosophy that focuses on spelling, writing, reading, and even handwriting. The Spalding Method incorporates a combination of explicit, interactive, and diagnostic instruction to the whole group, followed by interventions and enhancements in small groups as needed.

Momentum Fitness Program

Our students have the opportunity to create foundations of health, athleticism, and confidence from an early age. The Momentum Fitness Program is a comprehensive physical education curriculum we developed to enhance all aspects of a student’s healthy living. Your child will participate in 45 minutes of age-appropriate physical exercise four days a week, much more than most other schools.
