Helpful Job Hunting

There is a lot of opportunity in the Care app to find a job. But most importantly I appreciate the background check that’s offered in which helps connect with families of higher pay. I like how this app allows families to create profiles that states the schedule and some additional in-depth detail of what the job inquires because me as a nanny could review this and see if there is potential of being a good fit for each other. I also am able to create a profile of myself which allows families to review and reach out through private messaging if they’re interested, or if you private message a family they could take a peak at your profile before replying. I’ve had great luck.
The only thing I would recommend to the Care app is if there was a way when families research a nanny name that our personal pay rate is shown with our name. I say this because too often I have families that reach out to me but have an extremely low pay rate to offer which I unfortunately have to pass up because it doesn’t meet my personal needs/qualification.

Needs work + ridiculous new fees

The app is very glitchy. Constantly crashing, delayed notifications, always displaying an “error” message. All of that I was willing to deal with, as I have previously found families to work with, and had used instant bookings. However recently, they have started taking out MAJOR fees from instant bookings. Mind you, that’s PRE tax. They claim this fee is for background checks to “ensure our safety.” I find that very funny because I paid for my own background check. They also claim it’s for a support line, which I have received zero support from, I’m met with an error message every time. I would prefer them to say they are just broke, need money, whatever. Because absolutely nothing has improved, in fact it’s only gotten worse for sitters. I had to cancel a booking because I was not feeling comfortable with it, there are still many fake accounts circulating through the app, and I live in New York City where it is not the safest. After cancelling (mind you I had to cancel probably 10 times because of the error messages), I received a message saying cancelling could affect future bookings. Well then maybe you should actually use the money from your high fees to run real background checks. Get rid of the fake accounts. I have made money off of the app, and found good families to work with so that’s why I am leaving 3 stars. But in the mood to leave one after these stupid fees.

Strange Nanny app. Not sure.

I’m pretty new to this app but it’s pretty strange. First of all, they charge the nanny or caregiver, which no other app or group does. Second, they have an instant job request feature, which I actually just scored a job through so yay. But they charge both nanny and parent a big cut when you get paid through the app. It allows the family to request a one time booking, and if you say yes it makes you wait sometimes forever for actual confirmation. So as far as I know I might be working in two hours because I never heard back one way or the other. It’s ridiculous they don’t make the family confirm one way or the other. And then the app keeps messaging ME to confirm, which I already did. Pretty frustrating. And really bad customer service if you actually want to talk to the company. But yet I seem to have gotten a couple jobs through it. Started out on premium membership for one month which does your background check. Will probably either downgrade or quit soon and use a different service which has better communication and does not charge. Never had issues like this with Sittercity, which I’ve used for 14 years. I’m guessing it’s pretty confusing for the parent also because so many people have very confusing job posts. I’m wondering if half of the ads are even real because everyone has identical wording on their job posts with no specific information.

The website has 22 million members in nine countries.

In the United States, Care.com has a reputation for being an easy place to find everything from a sitter for date night to a senior caregiver for elderly family members to a dog walker in your local area.

If you’re looking to pick up work as a full-time or part-time care services provider, Care.com is a great place for you to start (and probably finish) your search!

How to Sign Up

It’s easy to sign up for Care.com.

Just navigate to Care.com and click on the red “Join Now” button at the upper left-hand corner.

When you change your answer to the question “What would you like to do?” to “Apply to jobs,” the form will change to the one below.

Fill out the form with your first name, last name, address, zip code, email, and a password.

You’ll also need to select which services you’re planning to offer.

You’ll only be able to choose one service you offer for now, but can add additional choices later.

You’ll be asked to set up your complete profile for the service you’re providing.

You should upload a friendly photo of yourself, summarize your experience, and indicate your hourly rate and whether you’re looking for full time or part-time work.

It’s a good idea to make yourself look as friendly and professional as possible.

Here’s an example of a great profile photo:

Use your personal blurb to go into more detail.

Talk about your relevant education and work experience, list relevant references, and accumulate reviews from previous employers, friends, and family, and note any extra details like how far you’re willing to travel and whether or not you smoke.

If you plan to provide multiple services, simply repeat these steps and create multiple profiles.

How to Search for a Job

To look for a job, start by logging into your Care. com account.

Once you’re logged in, go to the Care.com homepage and scroll all the way to the bottom.

You’ll see the different categories and find the ability to click on the sorts of jobs you want.

Select the type of job you’re seeking.

If it’s Child Care, you’ll see a list of jobs hiring near you that looks like the screenshot below.

While our list has jobs located all over the place, your jobs list will be local to you because you logged in.

If you forgot that step before, log in now to see jobs in your local area.

You can also search by sub-categories of jobs.

Click on a job listing to see details.

If it looks good, the next step is to apply.

How to Apply

Once you’ve found an active job listing that looks appealing, you can apply by clicking the link that says “Apply for Job.”

Clicking the link enables you to send your application directly to the family that is seeking help as a message.

(This image says “Join to Apply,” but yours will say “Apply for Job” if you’re logged in to your Care. com account.)

Take a few minutes to compose a well-written message to the care seekers letting them know why you’d be perfect for this job.

Consider it an informal cover letter that will encourage them to look at your profile and hire you instead of anyone else who applies.

Free Membership vs Premium Membership

While signing up for a Care.com account is free, ponying up for a premium membership will expedite your job search process and Care.com credits can ensure more of your applications are seen.

Free Care.com Membership

A free Care.com membership will allow you to create a profile on the website and browse for potential jobs.

You’ll be able to apply to those jobs and be seen when care seekers are browsing caregiver profiles.

If you’re patient and willing to apply to multiple jobs, you can get by with a free Care.com membership.

Premium Care.com Membership

A premium membership on Care. com comes with several benefits that can speed up your job search and help you nab those great jobs everyone wants.

As a premium member, your profile will be displayed at the top of search results.

This is beneficial as many care seekers choose to browse care providers instead of reviewing applications to their job post.

You’ll also get instant alerts about any relevant new job postings and to be able to see when an employer views your profile.

Care.com provides all its premium membership care providers with a free basic background check, which makes you look more credible in the eyes of care seekers and saves them the cost of running one on you.

A premium membership as a care provider costs the following:

Care.com allows care seekers to limit the number of applications they need to go through.

In those instances, it’s really helpful to have Care.com credits you can use to purchase one of the five application slots for that job.

This tends to happen for those really good jobs that know they’ll be inundated with applications and that need to hire someone quickly.

Having just five candidates makes the screening process easier for the care seeker and increases the odds that you’ll be the one hired for that position.

You can purchase credits right on your profile page for the following prices:

  • 10 credits for $9 (only $0.90 per credit)
  • 25 credits for $19 ($0.76 per credit — save 16 percent)
  • 50 credits for $29 ($0.56 per credit — save 36 percent)

You don’t have to pay Care.com a penny in order to apply to jobs.

However, if you’re serious about finding great work quickly, the money invested in a premium membership or Care. com credits (or both) can pay off.

Help: How to register on the site?

This manual will help you to register in the application system (ie create your user account or as it is also called – user account). This is absolutely necessary for applying – without registering in the system, you will not be able to apply.

So, let’s start:

1) On the main page of the site, click on the link “Login / Register” in the header of the site (on a black background) or on the link “Registration on the site” in the left side block “Users”:

2) This link will take you to the registration page for you as a user in the system.
Check that “I want to create an account” is highlighted in yellow – if not, just click on it.
Now you need to fill in the required fields on it (this is your login and password from the registration system – remember them, but rather write them down somewhere. They will come in handy more than once!).
Please enter a valid email address, otherwise you will not be able to activate your account!
You need to enter the letters from the picture in a special field – this is protection from automatic registrations on the site.
At the end, you need to click the “Register me on the site” button.

3) The site will create your account, but it will need to be activated (this is necessary to confirm that the email address you provided really belongs to you). Before activating your account, you will NOT be able to access the Application System website using your username and password.

4) Now you need to enter your e-mail box (which you indicated at the previous step when registering) and find in the “Inbox” a letter from the address reg@bioturnir. ru (Application system) with the subject “Account details …” .
ATTENTION!!! This letter is generated and sent instantly after you fill out the registration form on our website. Therefore, if after 1-2 minutes you still have not received the letter, then check the “SPAM” folder of your mailbox – it could have got there. In this case, do not forget to mark this letter as “NOT SPAM” so that all further letters from us do not fall into spam, but go to the “Inbox” and you can read them immediately.
In this letter you will find a long link to activate the user account, which you need to click on (or copy it into the address bar of any browser program, for example, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, etc., for this you need right-click on the link, and then select “Copy” from the context menu.)

5) After clicking on the link to activate your user account, you will be taken to the website of the Application System, but already as a registered user (under your login and password).
Now a menu has appeared on the site page at the left edge (where your username is indicated – login and links to the main operations with the Application System). The same menu should appear in the site header (on a black background).
This means that you are logged in as an authorized user and can apply.

6) At the end of everything, an email will be sent to your email address from [email protected] (Applications System) with the subject “Account … activated”. This confirms that your account is created, active, and now you can log in to the site and apply!

So, congratulations, you have successfully registered in the system!

How to register for public services – step by step instructions

To use the patient’s personal account “My Health”, you must register on the Unified Portal of Public Services (EPGU, gosuslugi.ru).

The number of services available to receive depends on the user’s account level. The more legal the service, the higher the account requirements.

The following types of accounts operate on EPGU:

Simplified account The user receives it immediately after completing the registration procedure. First of all, it provides access to reference information – extracts from registers, checking traffic police fines and others.
Standard account To receive it, the user needs to fill in passport data and SNILS in his profile. Expands the list of available services: checking the fines of the traffic police on the vehicle registration certificate, on the car number and on the driver’s license. With this account level, you can make an appointment with a doctor.
Verified account Opens access to the full range of public services and allows you to fully use the portal.

You can register either personally by visiting any of the Service Centers in Sevastopol and other cities (you will immediately receive a verified account), or via the Internet.

Via Internet

Step 1. Registering a Simplified Account

You can go to the registration form from the main page of the portal, or follow the link: https://esia.gosuslugi.ru/registration/

Indicate in the registration form your last name, first name, mobile phone and e-mail address. After clicking on the registration button, you will receive an SMS with a registration confirmation code.

Please note: when registering, you automatically agree to the processing of your personal data and your children.

An email will be sent to the email address you provided during registration with a link to verify your email address.

Important point: When registering, you must come up with a secure password (this is a mandatory requirement and is necessary to protect your data). _{|}~`).

Step 2: Verify your identity – create a Standard Account

Fill in the user profile – indicate the SNILS and the details of the identity document (Passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation, for foreign citizens – a document of a foreign state).

After saving, the data will be sent for verification to the Federal Migration Service of the Russian Federation and the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation. The check can last from several hours to several days. Notification of its results will be sent to your email address.

Step 3: Verify Identity – Create a Verified Account

There are several ways to verify your Gosuslug account:

When applying with an identity document and SNILS to a convenient Service Center (in Sevastopol, these are branches of Rostelecom, MFC, RNKB)

If you are a customer of one of the following banks:
