All schools have their problems, even this new school opening across town (Rancho Campana). It’s also true that this school almost looks like it’s about to fall apart any second (probably an exaggeration). Besides, transferring to another school probably won’t make your life too bitter either. As they always say, the grass is always greener on the neighbor’s lawn, and when it comes to the public schools of this great country, those lawns are far from perfect wherever you go (literally and figuratively). Summing up, I would say that it could have been better, or it could have been worse.

Based on a past student: Camarillo High is a great and fun school. The academic and athletic levels are very high. Some may complain about teachers or staff, but everyone has their own opinion. I really opened my eyes and saw that they all want you to succeed through hard work.

High school can be a tough time for many.

High school can be a difficult time for many students, so it’s no wonder there are some angry and negative reviews here. On the other hand, I had two children who recently went to this school between 2004 and 2010. They both spent all four years here playing sports and taking AP classes; which allowed them to attend college at an advanced level. The high school staff was like many other schools, some of them were very good and some of them were very questionable in managing classes. Before the current director, Mr. Lipman, there was someone who was not suitable for this job, but she was fired in 2005. Parent involvement also varies from very involved to not involved at all. I believe that the more involved the parent, the more experience their student will have. For example, going to parent committee meetings where the principal talks to parents regularly and explains what’s going on in the school and the district. Attending parent-teacher meetings for sports, arts, drama, music band, etc. – whatever your child is interested in – also helps children (and parents) understand how everything is determined, chosen, judged, etc. school nights to meet with teachers and learn about class expectations, grading rules, and other things children may not understand in class.
I believe that how a child functions in high school is a predictor of how they will function in the wider world after graduation. Parents themselves can help with their participation!

They are …

Some of the reviews for this school are full of crap. They don’t kill animals, the group isn’t full of drugs and booze (I’m in the group myself), the kids are ready to go to college. It’s true that some teachers just care about their salary, but most want you to succeed, and unlike Dave, I’m proud to go to this school. Sean, they allow you to wear hats, just make sure it has the school logo on it, or if it’s a different logo, be sure to cover it up.
I am a high school student and I must say that this is a good school and I am glad that I came here to study in high school.

Lots of bad teachers…

just a good school, I think. Lots of bad teachers. But there are a couple of very professional, very special teachers who care about their students and want them to succeed. Each school has its pros and cons. I personally really like to go to Rio instead. for several reasons. 1 ASB is just being self-centered (my opinion) and doesn’t really care about the other clubs at this school. asb goes in for sports. for example: football, basketball and swimming/water polo. BUT they forget about the drama club, the orchestra, the farming AND the students. they celebrate birthdays or 1/2 birthdays. Wonderful !! …but please give everyone happy birthday buttons. I know this probably sounds silly and immature, but the reason I’m saying this is because it was the birthday of the ASB students in my first year in my class, and Asb brought balloons, a cake, a button, and a banner. and just forgot about me. They missed a few birthdays of my friends All 4 years. they still missed 2 of mine… I have 2 birthday buttons but they were from my friends and they felt bad. So in general Some good kids Some bad ones Many bad teachers but a few good ones.

High schools in Camarillo are in a terrible state. Many Camarillo children are very anxious and consider themselves privileged. However, with the exception of a few good children, I managed to form strong friendships for three years, IT WAS A VERY LONG THREE YEARS. But that was also my high school experience, I can only imagine Camarillo and Oxnard’s kids together?? I’m so glad I’m not going here, good luck to you. (This is my opinion so don’t answer)
