Alexandria
When they say to me: “Alexandria”,
I see the white walls of the house,
The pale sun of the autumn evening
And I hear the sounds of distant flutes.
When they say “Alexandria” to me0013 The dancer dancing the wasp,
And I hear the sound of a tambourine and the cries of a quarrel.
When they say “Alexandria” to me,
I see a pale crimson sunset over the green sea,
Furry flashing stars
And light gray eyes under thick eyebrows,
Which I see even then,
When they don’t say to me: “Alexandria! »
