Project “History of our city. Labor Valor”

City Library (Krasnoyarsk, Perenson St. 23; contact numbers 227-64-47 and 227-86-33) invites you to visit the interactive multimedia exposition “History of our city. Labor prowess”

Project “History of our city. Labor Valor” is a clear demonstration of how the past has shaped the future, it is a large-scale interactive exposition about the strength of a person and the value of everyone’s contribution to the common cause.

The idea of the project is to preserve the historical memory of the era of the Great Patriotic War by visualizing the picture of the events in Krasnoyarsk, personal stories and memories of veterans using modern information technologies.

Interactive multimedia exposition consists of:

1. Location “Siberian way of life” represents the interior of the living quarters of Krasnoyarsk residents during the war years.

2. Location multimedia table “Siberian Cuisine” reflects the peculiarities of nutrition of the country’s population in wartime.

3. Panoramic photographs of evacuated enterprises, evacuation hospitals and the Krasnoyarsk airfield are displayed on Gigarama.

4. New chapters have appeared in the interactive book Chronicle of the City of Krasnoyarsk, dedicated to veterans of Krasnoyarsk, the work of evacuated enterprises, evacuation hospitals, cultural and educational institutions.

5. The media gallery presents multimedia exhibitions: “Daily life of Krasnoyarsk residents during the war years”, “Work of cultural institutions of Krasnoyarsk during the Great Patriotic War”, “Evacuation hospitals”, “Streets are named after them”.

6. Interactive bookcase introduces books published during the war years.

OUR ANTHEM IN OUR HANDS!

In the Year of Corporate Culture, the Executive Committee of the All-Russian Trade Union of Education, by its resolution of June 12, 2022, announced the start of a musical and poetic competition for the creation of the anthem of the Trade Union, which should become one of the official symbols of the organization used by it at official ceremonies and events.

Both amateur authors – trade union activists, members of the All-Russian Trade Union of Education, as well as professional poets and composers are invited to participate in the competition. At the same time, creative work can be prepared individually or in collaboration. The main thing is that it should be an author’s musical work that strictly meets the requirements listed in the Regulations on the Music and Poetry Competition.

Applications and creative materials will be accepted by e-mail [email protected] (the subject of the letter is “ANTHYMN”) from September 1 to November 25, and the selection of the winners of the competition will take place from November 25 to December 26.

All participants of the competition will receive the appropriate diplomas, and the one whose anthem is the best will be awarded a winner’s diploma and a cash prize. At the same time, the winner of the competition will have to transfer to the Trade Union the exclusive right to the text and musical accompaniment of the anthem under an agreement in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation.

This guest house is in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The owner realized almost all his childhood dreams in the project, including a huge mesh hammock ceiling above the two-height living room: “I wanted this house to be fun and unusual.”

This home is owned by Ben Crisman, owner of Owners Choice Construction. He bought two acres of wooded land in Greenville, South Carolina. In addition to the main house, this one was built on the site – a guest house: “my sister lives in England, and stays here when she comes to the USA,” says the owner, “The rest of the time the house is rented by the day. ”

The 6×12 m house was erected on supporting pillars: the ground under the house has a slope, so from this side it is at a height of 6 m, and from the side of the entrance – at a height of about 3.5-4 meters.

Designer Ashley Adams used a natural palette, multiple shades of green and botanical prints to connect the home with the outside world. Outwardly the house is black, but inside it is cozy and relaxing.

The walls throughout the house were a uniform white, and furniture and windows were chosen with a slight tan. Along the wall with the TV, wallpaper with a botanical pattern as an accent. The floors are covered with wide hardwood planks.

One of the most playful elements in the home is the mesh hammock above the living room. It was found on a site dedicated to tree houses. “The mesh is strong enough to support three adults at once,” says Ashley Adams, interior designer.

Problem and solution: The hardest part was fixing the grid along the window. Three sides are fixed on the beams, and a 6 mm steel cable is stretched along the glazing, which holds the canvas. For safety, another net was fixed on the open side on the left.

The living room has access to a 6m by 12m outdoor terrace. Wire was used for the railing to stay within budget and still maintain a view of the forest. The street carpet serves as a spectacular accent.

Next to the A-shaped building is a block of main rooms: nothing blocks the view from the bedroom windows to the trees.

The kitchen has everything but the stove. This is due to legal nuances (the absence of a stove allows you to classify the hut as additional housing). “People come here for a couple of days, it’s more of a weekend getaway. There are so many great restaurants in Greenville that our guests love to go there or order takeout,” he says. Refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, sink – everything else is in place. There is a coffee station in the large cabinet on the right.

The kitchen leads out onto the porch, which is gigantic and extends all the way to the front of the house. Here is a place for an outdoor living and dining area. A heater keeps you warm on cold days, while two ceiling fans keep you cool on hot days.

They also hung a huge TV set here. “On Sundays, when the tenants are out of the house, we like to come to the hut and watch sports,” says the owner of the house.

“The bathroom is very small because of the stairs. And it would seem logical to place the toilet not under the bevel. But the designer decided otherwise: “double doors lead to the toilet, which almost always remain ajar. It was important for me that a beautiful mirror and a sink could be seen through them, and not a toilet.”

The tiger print wallpaper is a fun surprise, and the patterned trees match the treehouse vibe perfectly. “When Ashley (project designer) came to me with the tiger wallpaper, she thought I would say: “What the hell is this? “says the owner. “But I said, ‘This is amazing!'”

The stairs lead to the attic where the sleeping places are located. “My wife was against it at first because she thought it was supposed to be a romantic holiday home for two,” says Ben, “But thanks to the beds, we got a versatile home for four people, for example, families with children.”

A sunroof gives access to another terrace, which the owner jokingly calls the “crow’s nest”. “This is a great place for yoga in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening.”

Master bedroom overlooking the cliff. To make the room seem taller, the designer used a wooden headboard and dramatic botanical curtains to “pull” the eye up. A hint of green here with more blue undertones than in other parts of the house. This is a soothing shade for the bedroom.

Surprise Shower Room – A glass door leads to an outdoor shower room. “I wanted people to see that there was something going on behind that door, and I used the star tile pattern to draw them in,” says the designer.

Standard subway tiles were used for the walls. “Before, it was customary to lay it horizontally. The vertical arrangement makes the shower more modern, makes it seem taller. The accent in the niche is decorated with the same tiles as on the floor. And the colors of the accent tiles echo the star-patterned tiles in the outdoor shower room,” explains the author of the project.
