One of the youngest lyceums in the capital, one of the twenty best schools in Moscow. Despite its young age, the lyceum has already developed its own traditions. Along with the specialized teaching of mathematics, physics and computer science, applied computer science, programming, logic, English, drawing, and chemistry are studied under special programs. Teaching is based on a system of workshops and laboratory work, setting up problem experiments in physics, chemistry, biology, special preparation for experimental rounds of Olympiads in physics, chemistry, biology. Much attention is paid to project work – an annual scientific and practical conference is held, where all students present the results of their work. The newspaper “Lyceum Bulletin” is published. Many students take part in the work of the Nadezhda tourist club. Lyceum students show excellent results in subject Olympiads of various levels.

Irina Gushchina,

Lyceum graduate

I entered the Lyceum after the 7th grade. It is close to my house and is known as a good and strong physical and mathematical school. Upon admission, I passed mathematics and Russian. When I studied at the Lyceum, starting from the 9th grade, we were divided into two additional profiles: chemistry and drawing. Now there are more profiles. The lyceum has self-government of lyceum students, that is, students themselves organize events and attend important meetings. Preparation for the exam goes after school. The main focus is on preparing for the Olympiads and participating in them. I passed the exam with very good results: 95 points in Russian, 96 in mathematics and physics, 86 in chemistry. At the same time, I did not study anywhere else. I also passed the internal exam in mathematics at Moscow State University with 90 points. To those entering the lyceum, I want to say the following: get ready that you will be leaving home very late. The load is very large, there are a lot of items, but they ask strictly. But the result of training, no doubt, will please you very much.

The gymnasium participates in two new projects of the Moscow Department of Education – “Medical class in a Moscow school” and “Engineering class in a Moscow school”, within which the corresponding classes are opened in the high school. Students in these classes study in depth, respectively, chemistry/biology and mathematics/physics and prepare for admission to medical and technical universities. The training focuses on participation in olympiads, project conferences, teachers provide information about such events and help with preparation. Much attention is paid to environmental education, schoolchildren take a separate subject “Moscow Ecology and Sustainable Development” and create projects with an environmental focus.

Anastasia Kiyan,

graduate of the gymnasium

I studied at the gymnasium for 11 years. We had wonderful teachers in both elementary and high school. We learned two languages - French from the 1st grade and English from the 5th grade. As far as I know, we were one of the last parallels that could choose the first language: now everyone starts with English. Despite the fact that this is a school without a language bias, we had four hours of French per week and two hours of English until the 10th grade, when the second language was excluded from the compulsory grid. In my parallel, the classes were divided into socio-economic and socio-humanitarian, in both profiles – four hours of social science per week and an hour of economics; they differed only in the number and level of mathematics. It did not come in handy for me, since none of them corresponded to my university. For those who did not fit into these profiles, additional hours were optionally allocated: in my case, these were chemistry and biology. In the next graduation, the school already had physics and mathematics and natural science profiles, and a medical class was opened for the younger ones. We were not so lucky, but everything depended on the number of students who chose one or another subject. We were prepared for exams both in class and in electives. I entered PMSMU named after Sechenov, and my choice was greatly influenced by Valentina Ivanovna Kolesnikova, a biology teacher. She showed us the most interesting aspects of biology at the very beginning, saw in me an inclination to study this subject, and then helped me decide on the choice of a future profession.

3. School No. 283

Training Profile
individual curriculum
Place in the ranking of schools
Department of Education-2015

Average
at the USE-2015

Currently, the school is a huge educational complex, which includes 10 structural divisions. This structure allows the school to provide versatility in the upper grades – all children study according to an individual curriculum. Gymnasium classes with an emphasis on foreign languages work in primary and secondary schools: English is taught according to an expanded program from grade 1, German – from grade 5. In addition, the school has the opportunity to organize a large number of extra classes and circles in the afternoon, which all students can attend. Among them are design, programming, Olympiad mathematics, Moscow studies, rhetoric, and genetics. Much attention is paid to project work and presentation of projects at various competitions.

Alina Dobrolyubova,

graduate of school

I studied at school from grades 1 to 11, in grade 1 we already had English and computer science. It was always interesting to attend classes, the teachers at the school were creative and used a variety of methods: we put on skits, went to the park during biology lessons, traveled abroad for language practice. Based on the results of the OGE, after the 9th grade, we were divided into profile groups. I studied in a group with specialized history and social studies, as I took three additional subjects at the Unified State Examination: history, English and social studies. Since I knew English better than history, I chose this group. The school is distinguished from all others by a huge number of extracurricular clubs and events. Almost every month we have events, there are subject weeks, during which students can take part in quizzes on a particular subject, come up with projects. Personally, I went to three all-Russian design competitions. Preparation for the exam was very strong. We were constantly solving tests, writing essays, once a week free electives were held, in which we additionally prepared for exams. I entered MSLU on a budget, because from the 7th grade I dreamed of becoming a translator.

Maria Pugacheva,

graduate of school

The main advantage of the school is that teachers of the “old school” work here: they calmly give both twos and ones; For them, the main thing is how the child learns the material. During the preparation for the exams, we were not “drilled” for tests. We solved complex problems, analyzed examples, and the test part was always homework, which helped many of my class to pass the exam with high scores. The school has recently been refurbished, so there are a lot of new computers, and there are interactive whiteboards in every classroom. After graduating, I entered the Moscow State Pedagogical University, I will be a teacher of mathematics and computer science, since I dreamed of this profession since childhood, and I passed mathematics at the Unified State Examination.

4. Gymnasium No. 1558 named after Rosalia de Castro

Grades

Training Profile
Spanish
Place in the ranking of schools
Department of Education-2015

Average
at the USE-2015
Spanish – 91, English – 80, Russian – 81

The famous Spanish special school No. 1410 now has a new name and the status of a gymnasium. In 1993, the school was the first in Russia to be admitted to the educational system of the International Baccalaureate (IB). As part of the Russian-Spanish project, a number of subjects are taught in the school in Spanish. The gymnasium cooperates with the Cervantes Institute, students take the international DELE exam in Spanish. In high school, you can study according to an individual curriculum, paying special attention to the subjects necessary for entering a university. Graduates of the gymnasium demonstrate outstanding results in the USE in Spanish, many of them continue their studies at universities in Spain and other countries.

Alexandra Nechaeva,

graduate of school

In addition to advanced Spanish at school, each student has the opportunity to choose a narrow specialization, which helps a lot when passing exams and further studies at the university. For any subject, you can choose the level of study depending on your own preferences. For example, I studied English and history at the profile level. Active preparation for the USE at school begins from the 9th grade. We regularly worked with USE materials, systematizing knowledge. After such preparation, I passed the English and Spanish exams by more than 90 points. In addition, I won the 1st level Olympiad in history, thanks to which I entered the Higher School of Economics at the Faculty of World Economy and World Politics without competition. Now I am one of the few in the group who speaks two foreign languages well.

5. School No. 1095 with in-depth study of French

Grades
1 to 11
Training Profile
French language, physical and mathematical, philological, chemical and biological, economic, humanitarian
Place in the ranking of schools
Department of Education-2015
118
Average
at the USE-2015
French – 80, English – 67, Russian – 71

The French special school does not limit its students to exclusively language specialization. High school students can choose one of several diverse study profiles. Graduates demonstrate good results at the Unified State Examination not only in foreign languages, but also in the main subjects of the chosen profile. Much attention is paid to the participation of schoolchildren in olympiads, competitions and events in the field of the French language. In the afternoon, you can additionally study French and English, attend technical circles: aircraft modeling, robotics, radio engineering. Or go in for sports: trampolining, swimming, rock climbing, fencing.

Sasha Khaprenko,

a graduate of school

The main focus of the school is learning languages, in particular, of course, French. I studied French and English from the first grade and now I have a very good conversational level in both languages, which allowed me to enter MSLU in linguistics. In the humanities class, the largest number of hours were devoted to literature, history and social studies. These subjects were taught by the most qualified teachers, which now allows me to freely operate information in these areas. In addition, our school has a very active social life. There is a theater, many clubs, a large number of charity events, concerts and holidays. You don’t have to be bored. Preparation for the Unified State Examination begins in the 10th grade with free electives and additional classes.

6. Cadet School No. 1778 “Moscow Sheremetyevo Cadet Corps”

Grades
1 to 11
Training Profile
military, sports, physical and mathematical, social and humanitarian
Average
at the USE-2015
Russian language – 70, English language – 64, social studies – 59

One of the best cadet schools in Moscow, as a result of the reorganization, became part of school No. 1381, while maintaining its focus and traditions within the educational unit. Cadets wear military uniforms, go to military sports parades and training camps. A separate place in the life of the school is occupied by holding balls, at which all students dance, preliminary preparing for them in ballroom dancing lessons. The school adheres to its concept in the afternoon – there is a large selection of free circles that correspond to the main profile of education: museum work, technical modeling, historical layout, the basics of military service, the Young Patriot and Young Medic associations, as well as military applied sports and hand-to-hand combat. The school accepts children who have no health contraindications for enhanced physical education and military applied training; you must provide a certificate from a doctor.

Marina Buinovskaya,

graduate of school

The school is distinguished by discipline, friendship, mutual assistance and cohesion of the team. There is a pronounced sports bias here – schoolchildren actively participate in many events and competitions, and thanks to this they are in excellent physical shape. As part of the military profile, we studied the basics of military training, military applied sports, life safety, medicine, and drill training. Teachers constantly let us decide on options for USE subjects, and there were additional classes. After school, I entered the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sports, Youth and Tourism, which is considered the best in Europe in the sports field, world and Olympic champions study here. I chose RGUFKSiT because I have always been involved in sports and I don’t see my future life without it. All the skills and knowledge gained at the cadet school help me while studying at the university.
