AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Belmont Avenue KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community.  Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

Meet just a few of our amazing KinderCare teachers!

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • There are no words to express how much I appreciate the quality of care my daughter receives at KinderCare. I am filled with gratitude for all the hard work, effort, love, and dedication shown to my daughter. This was my first experience with daycare/preschool, and I could not have chosen a better place for my child to grow, learn, and develop her early learning and social skills. That first day I dropped off my daughter I was terrified and hysterical. But since that day, I have never worried once when I knew she was in your care. As a nervous mother, I call KinderCare to check in on my daughter constantly. I never once got a negative reaction from anyone. As a working mother, KinderCare has given me and my family the confidence and trust I was looking for in a school. It is a very difficult decision to leave your child with people whom you barely know, but KinderCare’s reassuring and understanding ways made the decision very easy. The staff at KinderCare has embraced my daughter. Every time I speak with her teachers, they put a smile on my face with their warm welcome and positive outlooks. I am blown away how each and every teacher at KinderCare knows my daughter and has a personal relationship with her, whether they are teaching in her class or not. Each staff member is always helpful, respectful and pleasant. KinderCare is bright, happy, and filled with total caring and love for children. My daughter has thrived in this educational environment and she learns new things every day. I love that her teachers know what my daughter enjoys, and they work hard to incorporate that into their daily curriculum. They say it takes a village to raise a child and for me, I could not be more appreciative to all of you at KinderCare for being part of my village in caring for my daughter.

Little Italy, Belmont area around Arthur Ave.

, Bronx. New York. Skyscraper Preserve, or The Big Apple Theory

“Little Italy”,

Belmont District

around Arthur Ave., Bronx

In Manhattan, in the Mul-berry St. area, there is still an area that claims to be Italian, but apart from the glorious past (namely: the flowery history of the mafia wars of the early twentieth century), it has long been unable to nothing to boast of, more like a huge souvenir shop. If there is a real “Little Italy” in New York, it is a few blocks around Arthur Avenue in the Bronx. Many Italians who took part in the construction of the Bronx Zoo and Botanical Garden moved here from Manhattan with their families in the first decades of the 20th century.

Now you can get here in just 20 minutes from Grand Central Station by train going to the Arthur Ave stop. I confess that I myself learned about the existence of this area only a couple of years after arriving in New York, and this despite the fact that I lived in the Bronx nearby, so Belmont is an area widely known in narrow circles. The streets belonging to Belmont are easily recognizable by the rosettes in the colors of the Italian flag, which are decorated with lampposts.

Now all the shops, restaurants, cafes and shops of Belmont are literally legendary places. As expected, these are all family businesses, passed down from father to son, grandson, matchmaker, brother, and so on. Without prejudice, I will say that an excursion to “Little Italy” is primarily a gastronomic tour, before which it is better to work up a serious appetite, which then will need to be spent very carefully, plying between a variety of pasticceria, salumeria and trattoria.

But the Arthur Avenue Market (2344 Arthur Ave.) will be a special test for any self-proclaimed gourmet. Even if you don’t consider yourself a fan of Italian cuisine and don’t know how Pesto Genovese differs from Pesto Calabrese, there is simply no better place to change your mind about the subject. Do not hesitate to ask and try – this is what you actually came for.

The meat stalls are perhaps the most interesting: many types of raw smoked and smoked hams, sausages such as bologna and mortadella, sopressates and salami, pancetta and soft Calabrian sausage n’duja, which can be spread on bread like a pate. The market has recently opened the Bronx Beer Hall beer bar, where you can try local (literally, those brewed in the Bronx) beers and eat a sandwich from Greco’s slice shop or a ball of fresh mozzarella, which is “pulled” right there on your eyes. Right on the market there is a workshop where middle-aged men roll handmade cigars – I’m disappointed, but young girls rolling cigars on their hips are not shown here. Connoisseurs say that the quality of the product is quite decent, and in some places not even worse than that of Cubans banned for import into the United States.

For exceptional local and Italian cheese, head to Calandra’s (2314 Arthur Ave.). There is fresh mozzarella of all kinds (salted, fresh, smoked and with prosciutto inside), scamorza, provolone and burrino made right there – small spheres of provolone with butter inside.

Borgatti’s (632 East 187 th St.) sells wonderful fresh pasta (including ravioli and manicotti) that cooks in seconds and is good with sauce or just olive oil and crushed garlic clove. Randazzo’s (2327 Arthur Ave.), Belmont’s finest fishmonger, is well worth stopping by, even if you don’t intend to lug home an octopus or a vongole net, for the freshest oysters you can eat on the street.

Of the restaurants, I can personally vouch for two – but what! Pizza – on a thin crispy dough with a soft center – is the signature dish of Zero Otto Nove (or simply “089”) (2357 Arthur Ave.). Try the option with pumpkin puree, pancetta and smoked mozzarella, and the kitsch decor of the establishment will instantly fade into the background, like everything that happens around.

Haute cuisine in Little Italy is handled by Tra di Noi (622 E 187 th St.), a trattoria that has been on Michelin’s Bib Gourmand list of budget restaurants for years. This means that although the restaurant lacks Michelin stars from the sky, the food here is good. Lasagna bolognese, and like any pasta, will not disappoint, and ossobucco will give odds to other versions from the Apennine Peninsula.

And by the way: there is one day a year when it is simply a sin not to go to Belmont – this is the Ferragosto autumn harvest festival, which is traditionally celebrated in Italy (both large and small) in mid-September. And remember: on Sunday, most of the shops in the area are closed – Italians still honor Catholic traditions and do not work on weekends.
