After School Programs, Sites Around the Triangle
The YMCA offers quality After School programs for students in grades K – 8 in Wake, Durham, Orange, Chatham, Johnston and Lee counties. YMCA After School is held from school dismissal until 6 p.m., and early release days are included.
We provide after school programs at many area schools. Our after school program includes dedicated homework time in a quiet environment, active indoor and outdoor games and activities and a weekly STEM project. YMCA After School programs are led by a team of high school and college-age students who are supervised by full-time YMCA directors.
Just a reminder, you must register for YMCA School Programs (Before School and After School) by Monday at 11:59 p.m. in order for your child to attend programs during that week. For example, if you register on a Tuesday, the first day your child is allowed to attend YMCA School Programs is the following week. This process ensures accurate staffing to maintain our high safety standards.

Before and After School | Brightside Academy
The Brightside Academy Experience is an integrated child care and early child education program model that prepares children to be life-long learners.
Brightside Academy School Age Program
At Brightside Academy, it’s all about bringing out the best in your child. Whether your child chooses to nurture their inner scientist, artist, teacher, doctor, CEO, or all of the above, we want to give them the freedom to follow all of their curiosities and passions!
Fun activities play a big role in how your child will develop critical skills. It may just feel like playing to your child, but what’s really happening is learning that will last a lifetime!
Our program offers enriching learning opportunities in a fun environment for maturing school-age children. This includes before-school and after-school care, back-up or emergency care for school holidays and closings, and exciting summer day camp programs for children up to age 12.
Parents who work outside the home often are challenged to provide supervised before and after school care for their children. In fact, more than 70 percent of U.S. children have parents who work away from home, leaving 15 million youth unsupervised by adults when the school day ends.
Brightside Academy’s School Age Program supports busy families with a safe and engaging learning environment for their children when they are not in school.
We offer:
- Service for children 5- to 12-years-old
- Homework help and tutoring
- Enriching activities: drama, art, technology and more
- Safe and secure environment
- Nutritious meals and snacks included
- Passionate and caring teachers
- Payment through vouchers/subsidies/span>
- Snacks and hot meals are provided for free to those who qualify
Many of our locations also provide safe and reliable transportation to and from select schools.
And There’s More!
Distance Learning Support
With many school districts offering distance learning or a hybrid of in classroom and at home learning, Brightside Academy is here to help parents and students by supporting distance learning.
More than just homework helpers…Brightside Academy will offer both full-day and after-school programming for elementary-school-aged children.
BSA is collaborating with many of the school districts we serve in order to help families navigate this new learning environment. Our goal is to try and keep our kiddos lives as normal as possible, our teachers will assist the children with their assigned classwork via distance learning as well as give students the opportunity to participate in additional activities such as music, art, and physical education.
Our Academy
Our Mission is to provide school-age families from all backgrounds, access to a high-quality out-of-school experience that heightens their ability to compete as life-long learners in an ever changing world.
What does excellent out-of-school education look like? We’re glad you asked.
- A Hands-On, Project-Based Curriculum
- A Clean, Safe, and Engaging Environment
- A Culture of Collaboration & Kindness
- Instilling and Reinforcing Respect, Fun, and Leadership
- Operating Hours That Make Sense
- Locations Close To Your Home, Work, & School
- Individual Attention Through An Average Student to Teacher Ratio of 12:1
- Snacks and hot meals are provided for free to those who qualify
Children are born with an eagerness to learn. They are curious by nature, all they need is the right environment to achieve their full potential. Brightside Academy strives to provide an out-of-school experience that stretches a student’s exploratory thinking while building confidence, peer to peer unity, and respect.
Facilities & Amenities
Brightside Academy is proud to offer cutting-edge, modern-day facilities that grant your school-aged child unique opportunities to investigate and explore real-time adventures that stimulate their development.

Nutritious Menu
By participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), we ensure that our menus meet the nutrition standards of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. In addition to serving your school-aged child great food, we teach them to develop healthy eating habits through designed activities.
School aged children receive:
- A healthy morning snack
- A nourishing lunch and/or dinner
Staff & Certifications
Brightside Academy has been providing high level child-care and early education for over 25 years. We employ over 450 people and serve over 3,000 children per day, with 33 locations in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh Regions.
We are recognized by the NECPA (National Early Childhood Program Accreditation) as we take great care in deciding who we hire to protect and teach your children. We strive to always earn the kind of high ratings that state initiatives look for.
Adhering to, then attempting to surpass the standards of Pennsylvania’s Keystone STARS programs are part of the DNA of our management’s strategies.
In addition to always meeting state requirements and qualifications, we look to specifically recruit management and teaching professionals. Many have degrees in early childhood education, but employing professional, high-quality teachers is only the beginning. Studies show that teachers are a key determinant of positive outcomes in early education. High quality teacher-child interaction is very important to promote not only academic skills but social and emotional competence.
Our entire staff receives additional training throughout the year in diverse and important topics that include, but aren’t limited to:
- Appropriate practices that encourage proper child development.
- Health, safety, and nutrition.
- Deep-dive specifics about the curriculum.
- Lesson planning and individualized instruction.
- Screening and assessment strategies.
- Diversity and inclusion.
- Teacher-child interactions.
- Quality early learning environments.
Curriculum and Activities
Philosophy of Education
At Brightside Academy, we believe that children learn through project-based activities that are an extension to their in-school learning. This helps them continue to explore and discover their world, become more self-aware and confident, and reach developmental milestones.
We ensure a safe, warm, and responsive environment and access to appropriate learning materials, technology, and books.
We provide an array of experiences to meet each individual child’s learning style. We provide a supportive, inclusive, and multi-sensory enlightening setting in which your child’s needs can be met.

COVID-19 Measures
The current Covid-19 pandemic may have you wondering if it is safe to send your child to our facility for care. Here are some of the methods we use to enhance our health and safety protocols during this time.
The following items are an abbreviated list of our new procedures. Please remember these guidelines are to protect your children, our staff, and the community and may change at our discretion.
- Face Masks & Hand Sanitizer: All persons entering the academy must wear a face mask and must use hand sanitizer upon entering.
- Health Screening: All children and staff will have a health screening prior to entering the building and their temperature will be taken throughout the day.
- Social Distancing: Only one family will be permitted in the lobby at a time. Please wait in the designated spot and maintain 6-feet of social distancing.
- Symptomatic Exclusion: Anyone with a fever, cough, sore throat or flu-like symptoms will not be permitted to enter the academy.
- Drop Off Hours: Will now be from 6:00- 9:30 am. After the daily health screening, the intake attendant will safely escort your child(ren) to their classroom.
- Pick Up Hours: will now be from 3:30-6:00 pm. Upon arrival at the academy, a staff member will bring your child(ren) to you.
- Classroom Stability: Your child’s classroom will be stable in that the same group of children and teachers will be together each day.
- Fun Facemasks: We have purchased face masks that have fun animal faces to reduce the fear for your child(ren). Each teacher will be required to wear them all day and will be permitted to wear a face shield.
- Staff Preparedness: Staff have been educated on the Covid-19 symptoms as well as preventive measures to ward off the spread of the virus.

Provides an immediate lifting and smoothing effect.
Possesses the prolonged action.
Improves the regeneration and renewal of the epidermis, evens out the skin.
Neutralizes free radicals and protects the skin from external influences.

Active Ingredients
Phytoestrogens from soy, wild yam, red clover, red grapes are plant structural analogues of female sex hormones (estrogens). Under the control of estrogens is the condition and appearance of the skin, the secretion of the sebaceous glands, the regenerative capacity of connective tissue, collagen synthesis, and hair growth. A decrease in estrogen levels with age leads to an acceleration of the aging process.
Phytoestrogens
Phytoestrogens have a broad spectrum of estrogen-like biological activity to maintain optimal skin function during periods of hormonal decline. They stimulate the synthesis of collagen, lipids and intercellular substance, have a pronounced regenerating effect, increase the level of moisture in the epidermis. Phytoestrogens are highly effective antioxidants, have anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic effects, normalize fat and protein metabolism in cells, and increase complex immune defense. Many phytoestrogens have capillary-strengthening properties, reduce the permeability of vascular walls and increase their strength. Phytoestrogens prevent damage to the scalp, strengthen hair follicles.
Wheat and soy phytoproteins
Wheat and soy phytoproteins are hydrolyzed vegetable proteins rich in biologically active substances necessary for the regeneration of skin cells. They provide an immediate lifting effect, perfectly moisturize the epidermis, stimulate protein metabolism, and have protective properties.
Seaweed
Seaweed are a source of elastin, collagen, amino acids, important minerals and trace elements, polysaccharides (moisturizing, immunostimulation), antioxidants (beta-carotene, vitamins C and E), essential fatty acids (restoration of the epidermal barrier) and other biologically active substances. Extracts of green algae spirulina and brown algae Macrocystis Pyrifera, which are part of the series, provide a high level of epidermis moisture, stimulate blood circulation and regeneration, nourish and strengthen the skin, increase skin immunity, and protect the skin from external influences.
L-ascorbic acid
L-ascorbic acid stimulates collagen synthesis, neutralizes free radicals, accelerates epidermal renewal, improves skin tone and defenses.
The program is suitable for all skin types, including oily. Provides regeneration and increase of skin turgor, implements hydration of the skin. Saturation of the skin with phytoestrogens and vitamins occurs in pulsating, non-shocking doses.

Active ingredients
Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid (low molecular weight) is a polysaccharide belonging to the glycosaminoglycans. An important structural element of the skin. Almost half of all hyaluronic acid in the human body is concentrated in the skin, where it is located in the connective tissue of the dermis between collagen and elastin fibers, as well as in the cells of the stratum corneum – corneocytes. Due to its high hydrophilicity and unique ability to bind water, it forms a protective film on the surface of the skin, retaining moisture and preventing its evaporation.
Lactic acid
Lactic acid (Lactic Acid) has a pronounced moisturizing and exfoliating effect, improves skin elasticity.
Green tea extract
Green tea extract contains vitamins C, K, PP (nicotinic acid), group B, bioflavonoids and is one of the most powerful plant antioxidant complexes. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect, soothes the skin, strengthens the walls of blood vessels, relieves swelling, protects collagen and elastin from damage. Green tea polyphenols inhibit the enzyme hyaluronidase, due to the increased activity of which the amount of hyaluronic acid decreases in aging skin. Green tea extract is effective for the prevention of aging, for the care of irritated and sensitive skin.
Centella asiatica extract
Centella asiatica extract has a pronounced firming, stimulating, antioxidant effect.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E is a natural antioxidant that prevents lipid peroxidation by free radicals. Stimulates the regeneration of skin cells, promotes its rejuvenation, slows down the aging process. Smoothes the skin, gives it elasticity and velvety, protects from ultraviolet radiation.

Facial care – minimum program
In my practice, I often find that women make serious mistakes even in simple daily facial procedures, while being completely sure that they are doing everything right.
But the skin of the face is like a dress given to us by nature. The only one for life. Worn leather cannot be thrown away and bought new. And only with the help of proper care, you can preserve its beauty for many years.
In this article I will tell you about the main rules and the main stages of facial skin care at home. These rules and mini face care program are the same for everyone, regardless of age and skin type. Only the cosmetics themselves are selected individually.
- Proper facial care
- Skin cleansing
- Skin toning
- Skin moisturizing
- How to properly apply the cream on the face

Proper facial care
Two main rules must be followed:
1. Regularity
Basic facial skin care should be done every day in the morning and evening. It takes no more than 3 minutes and should become the same habit as brushing your teeth.
2. Proper technique for applying cosmetics
All cosmetics must be applied only along the massage lines – these are the lines of the least stretching of the skin. Otherwise, you will stretch the skin daily and contribute to the premature appearance of wrinkles.
- All cosmetic products should be applied with fingertips – without stretching or pressing on the skin.
- The hand should be relaxed and the pads of the fingers should glide smoothly along the surface of the skin.
- If the cream is quite thick or the skin is very thin, such as around the eyes, then the cream can be applied with light patting movements. It is recommended to do this with the ring finger, as it is the weakest, it is more difficult for them to press too hard on the skin. But personally, I prefer to do it with the middle finger, since I have a light hand, and I have good control over the pressing force with any finger.
It is not difficult to memorize the main massage lines – almost all lines go from the center of the face to the periphery. Only in the area under the eyes, on the contrary – from the outer corner of the eye to the inner. On the front surface of the neck, cosmetics are applied from the bottom up, and on the side, on the contrary, from top to bottom.
It is necessary to care for the skin of the neck in the same way as for the face, because in this area the skin is thinner, it is less nourished, which means it loses its elasticity and ages even faster than the face.
These two rules – Regularity and Correct application technique – are much more important than the brand and cost of your cosmetics. And much more effective than an emergency visit to a beautician before a vacation or corporate party.
Home Facial Program
Now let’s move on to the minimum daily facial skin care program. It includes only three stages.
1. Cleansing the skin
Cleanse the skin in the morning and evening. In the morning, in order to remove the waste products of skin cells accumulated there during the night from the surface. Otherwise, these harmful substances, together with the cream, will be absorbed back into the skin.
In the evening, remove dirt and cosmetics accumulated on the surface of the skin.
Technique:
- Wash your hands first, and always touch your face with clean hands only.
- In the evening, if you have eye make-up, it would be correct to first use a special make-up remover in the eye area. Simply apply this product to a cotton pad and swab a few times along your lashes to remove makeup. As well as along the upper and lower eyelids.
- Next, you can moisten your face with water, or simply apply a small amount of cleanser to wet fingertips and distribute it in a circular motion along the massage lines of the face and neck. This process should not take more than 1 minute – during this time, cosmetics, dirt and waste products of cells will have time to completely dissolve. Then rinse thoroughly with room temperature water and pat your skin dry with a towel. Exactly get wet – but in no case do not rub or stretch the skin.
2. Skin Toning
Toning neutralizes the action of cleansers, normalizes the pH of the skin after washing and prepares it for the application of moisturizer. Therefore, it is necessary to wipe the face with a tonic both in the morning and in the evening immediately after cleansing.
Technique:
- Moisten a cotton pad well with tonic and gently wipe the skin along the massage lines.
- If, like me, you prefer toners in a spray, then spray generously on the face and neck and work in with light movements with your fingertips or wipe the skin with a cotton pad.
3. Moisturizing the skin
Moisturize the skin in the morning and evening. Because the lack of moisture leads to dry skin, loss of elasticity and firmness, and as a result, the premature appearance of wrinkles.

How to properly apply the cream on the face
- In my work, I used to apply the cream on the back of the hand, and from there on the client’s face. I do the same when I take care of my skin at home. And I recommend that you do the same – it is very convenient, and now you will understand why.
- If the cream is in a tube or pump bottle, squeeze a small amount of cream about the size of a pea onto your hand. If the cream is in a jar, remove the required amount with a clean spatula.
- Rub the cream a little with your fingertips before applying to bring it to body temperature. This will increase his activity.
- Then apply the cream in small portions on the face and neck and distribute along the massage lines. In the eye area, the cream is applied only along the bone edge. Feel for the bony edge and apply the cream along the orbit of the eye. No need to apply cream along the eyelashes and on the moving eyelid. Don’t worry, the cream will spread itself over the skin of the eyelids, as our eyes are constantly on the move. Moreover, it will be distributed evenly and without excess, which is difficult to achieve in such a delicate area with your fingers.
- Do not skimp or apply too much cream. The amount of cream should be optimal – moisturize the skin well, but not be an extra load, preventing it from breathing. Therefore, if after 20-30 minutes the cream is not absorbed into the skin, the excess should be blotted with a napkin.
- And the rest of the unused cream can be spread on the back of the hands.
Important to remember:
- Day cream should be applied no later than half an hour before going outside, and in winter no later than an hour, so that it has time to be absorbed.
- Night cream should be applied no later than one hour before bedtime. It can be done in 2-3 hours. Because as long as your muscles are mobile, the cream will absorb well and do its job. And if you apply the cream and immediately go to bed, your muscles will relax, microcirculation is disturbed, the cream stagnates and in the morning this can cause swelling, especially in the area around the eyes.
And very young and young girls under 25 usually do not need a night cream at all – in the evening they just need to cleanse and wipe the skin with a tonic. At this age, the skin is perfectly restored itself. She does not need to help, otherwise she will start to be lazy and grow old ahead of time.
Frequently asked questions about face care
Is it possible to wash your face with ordinary tap water
Of course, it is better if you have the opportunity to wash your face with clean, non-chlorinated water, or at least filtered. But if not, you should not worry too much – the face is in contact with water for only a few seconds, and already at the next stage – Toning – you will neutralize the effect of hard tap water.
Should I wash my face with hot or very cold water
Not worth it. Hot water promotes the expansion of pores and capillaries and increased sebum secretion. And too cold water constricts blood vessels, which leads to a lack of skin nutrition. Therefore, it is best to wash your face with water at room temperature – it is colder than body temperature, therefore it gives a pleasant coolness, refreshes the face well and does not have an undesirable effect.
Is it possible not to wash your face with water at all, but simply remove the cleansing milk with a cotton pad
It is possible. But in this case, it is better to at least moisten cotton pads with clean water, which you usually use for drinking, or tonic, and wipe your face especially carefully so that there are no traces of cleansers and cosmetics on the skin.
Is it necessary to cleanse the skin as thoroughly in the morning as in the evening
Young skin, especially combination and oily skin, is characterized by increased sebum secretion, so I recommend thoroughly cleaning such skin both in the morning and in the evening. And for normal and dry skin, as well as mature and sensitive, in the morning you can simply rinse with water and proceed to the toning stage.
Minimum program
Today I told you how to take care of your face — the basic skin care rules and the minimum program that you need to follow every day, starting from the age of 16 and throughout your life.
Two important rules:
- Regularity
- Proper application technique
The three must-haves for skin care:
- Cleansing
- Toning
- Humidification
The next important aspect of skin care is the ability to choose the right cosmetics. To do this, you need to take into account age, skin type and be well versed in cosmetics.
You all probably know your age, and I will tell you how to determine your skin type and how to choose effective cosmetics yourself and distinguish good products from useless and even harmful ones.

Treatments for skin care at different ages
We change with age in everything: outwardly, intellectually, emotionally. And our skin also changes with each age period, requiring a completely different approach to self-care. This also applies to creams – it is not for nothing that they are marked by age, and to cosmetic procedures. A good cosmetologist will warn you that some procedures should not be done at the age of 20, and some are already useless at 50. effective.
Under 25
At this beautiful age, the skin is still fresh and young. If there are no specific problems (acne, post-acne, rosacea, etc. ), young skin care is quite simple. All your actions now, in fact, should be aimed at maximizing the preservation of the existing skin condition and preventing age-related changes.
The main thing at a young age: competent cleansing, moisturizing and sun protection.
It is important to clean the skin daily: in the morning and in the evening, using non-aggressive detergents. Once a week, you can perform more intensive cleansing (peeling, gommage) and make an active cleansing or moisturizing mask according to your skin type.
If there are skin problems, it is better to solve them as quickly as possible – this way you will not let complications develop.
If you are suffering from acne – contact a cosmetologist or dermatologist – the doctor will select a treatment, clean it and recommend anti-inflammatory, cleansing, drying agents.
In the presence of post-acne, the cosmetologist will help remove traces from the skin by conducting a series of peels or performing laser resurfacing.
25 to 35 years old
Immediately make a reservation, this age period is called very conditionally. There is no clear boundary, and for some, the first signs of age-related skin changes appear earlier, for others later. But around this period, our skin begins to need more serious care and some effort is already required to maintain its radiant appearance.
After 25 years, the level of skin hydration decreases, the barrier functions of the epidermis worsen, the turgor and elasticity of the skin decrease, and the ability to physiological recovery decreases. The skin becomes more sensitive to stressful moments – if at the age of 18 you could not wash off your makeup, spend the night in a smoky room, and in the morning you were fresh and beautiful, then after 30 years all night vigils and the lack of regular care already become visible to the naked eye.
At this age, the skin needs nutrition, hydration and skin stimulation programs such as mesotherapy and biorevitalization. Mesotherapy with multivitamin cocktails, trace elements and hyaluronic acid truly works wonders. These microinjections effectively restore the skin’s water balance and increase its elasticity. Thanks to the procedure, problems associated with excessive oiliness of the skin are solved, the condition of small vessels improves, and atonic, sluggish skin is tightened. Biorevitalization is an injection technique that allows you to restore skin tone, elasticity and color. Thanks to this procedure, the complexion improves, wrinkles decrease, age spots and spider veins disappear. The essence of the procedure is that low molecular weight hyaluronic acid is introduced, which stimulates self-healing of the skin. The drug, as it were, forms an elastic mesh in the skin, which attracts moisture and promotes the formation of its own hyaluronic acid.
Professional care programs will help to support the results of biorevitalization: moisturizing, brightening, nutrition, lifting, rejuvenation, treatment of problem skin.
Also, after 25 years, the first wrinkles usually appear – in the forehead, bridge of the nose, around the eyes and lips. As you know, the best way to deal with wrinkles on the face and prevent them are injections of botulinum toxin. The essence of the action of the drug is that it blocks the excessive activity of facial muscles (while normal facial expressions are preserved), and the skin ceases to constantly wrinkle in the same places, and can recover. Unfortunately, this method will not help with deep wrinkles – therefore, it is recommended to start injections at the very first manifestations of wrinkles.
A separate category of procedures that already makes sense to start at this age is hardware. Hardware cosmetology is a modern progressive methods and procedures. In combination, they can achieve not only an improvement in the appearance of the skin, but also stimulate blood circulation, enhance lymphatic drainage, and improve cell nutrition. Microcurrents, ultrasonic cleaning, phonophoresis, myostimulation, d’arsonval are well-known procedures that help reduce swelling under the eyes, strengthen the muscular frame of the face, improve blood circulation and lymph flow, increase metabolism, and prevent the development of wrinkles.
In fact, with proper skin care and a harmonious lifestyle, at 35 you can look the same as at 20-25. The first signs of aging that so easily pass off a woman in her 30s may not appear on your face for a very, very long time.
After 35 years
35 years is such a conditional watershed, it is this age among experts that is considered to be the beginning of the appearance of the first true signs of age: pronounced wrinkles, changes in the oval of the face (gravitational changes), a persistent decrease in skin elasticity, a decrease in the natural ability to retain moisture and produce collagen.
If you were actively engaged in yourself before this age, then you will have the first signs of aging much later. If earlier it seemed to you that “everything is fine”, now there is nowhere else to put off – urgently start working on yourself!
Most importantly, affects our appearance – our lifestyle. In order to look good, it is important to get enough sleep, be less nervous, eat a balanced healthy diet with enough vitamins, microelements, fiber, fats (yes, strange as it sounds, but for a good skin condition, you need to consume at least 15 g of fat per day ). Be sure to take vitamins, omega-3, omega-6 preparations (polyunsaturated fatty acids). Stop smoking (if you still smoke) – now every cigarette provokes wrinkles and folds around the mouth and thinning and dry skin.
Cosmetic procedures at this age include programs of deep moisturizing, nutrition, active mineralization, face and body lifting, as well as anti-stress therapy and relaxation.
After 35 years, it already makes sense to actively and regularly visit a beautician and apply programs aimed at combating age-related changes: chemical peels, injection techniques, the use of fillers and contour plastics, the installation of mesothreads, as well as hardware and laser procedures. All this must be combined with regular competent home care, which your beautician will help you choose.
The most popular procedures aimed at restoring the youthfulness of the skin
Fractional photothermolysis
This laser treatment is the latest word in rejuvenation. It can be applied to any area of the face (including the eyes and lips) and body, for any skin color and is effective at any age. The laser allows you to renew the entire collagen-elastin framework of the skin. As a result of exposure to a fractional laser, a large number of so-called treatment zones are formed in the skin, in which new young tissue is rapidly formed, and cells located near the treatment zones are also involved in this process and are actively renewed. Thus, the processes of skin remodeling occur both in the superficial and deepest layers, which makes it possible to rejuvenate the skin throughout its entire thickness. The relief of the skin is leveled, it acquires a smooth and even appearance, and the newly formed collagen-elastin framework gives the skin density and elasticity.
During the procedure, the skin is dehydrated, so in order to get a pronounced effect of rejuvenation, it is important to properly prepare for the procedure and help the skin recover after: nourish and moisturize as much as possible with injections (biorevitalization, mesotherapy).
Laser procedures are recommended to be performed in the autumn-winter period, when the sun is the least active, since after fractional photothermolysis the sensitivity of the skin to ultraviolet increases.
RF lifting
RF-lifting (radiolifting) is based on high-frequency currents, which provide uniform heating of the skin layers without affecting the epidermis. On RF-lifting, there is a uniform heating of the layers of the dermis and subcutaneous fatty tissue. Due to this, all processes occurring in the skin are stimulated, and most importantly, the active production of collagen and elastin begins. As a result of the procedure, the oval of the face becomes much clearer, the entire lower third of the face is tightened, the nasolabial folds disappear. Also, RF-lifting works very effectively in the area around the eyes: it removes puffiness and fine wrinkles. The procedure is carried out both on the face and on the body. When carrying out the RF lifting procedure for the body, it is very good to combine it with LPG massage. The latter relieves swelling after radiolifting, improves metabolic processes, promotes lymphatic drainage and getting rid of cellulite and excess weight.
Subcutaneous suture threads (mesothreads)
Polydioxanone suture implantation is a minimally invasive rejuvenation technique. the cosmetologist introduces a special flexible needle with a thread at the level of the zones of maximum mobility of the face and lines of skin stretching subcutaneously at the level of fatty tissue, the latter remains in the tissue. Increased production of collagen begins around the thread, which leads to the creation of a new skin frame and provides a lifting effect, eliminates ptosis (sagging tissues) of the face and body, and eliminates fine wrinkles. Mesothreads essentially allow you to create a frame that will not allow the oval to blur, sag on the cheeks, eyelids, chin, etc.

What to pay attention to, how to prolong youth and have a blooming appearance? Bogdanova Alena Olegovna, a cosmetologist at the Semeynaya clinic in Ryazan, tells about the peculiarities of caring for appearance at this age.
After the age of 35, skin care should be more thorough and targeted. Simply cleansing and moisturizing may no longer be enough, because the skin at this age begins to lose elasticity, becomes more sensitive or dry, wrinkles, pigmentation appear on it, and the complexion may become duller. Of course, a lot depends on lifestyle: smoking, stress, unhealthy diet leave their negative mark on the skin, while women who adhere to moderation in nutrition, go in for sports, observe sleep patterns look much better than representatives of their age group. Nevertheless, whatever the circumstances, it is in your power to restore energy to the skin, to prolong its youth as much as possible and maintain a fresh and attractive appearance. Remember that the condition of the skin is related to the hormonal balance of a woman, and at 35-40 years old, it is still, as a rule, in order, which means that the skin, with proper home and professional care, can look great.
Routines
As before, don’t forget about daily cleansing – morning and evening. Give preference to soft products that do not tighten the skin, making it not only clean, but also smooth. Hydrophilic oil does an excellent job with this task: it carefully frees the skin from makeup and impurities without damaging it. If you have a tendency to oiliness, you can use foam cleansers for oily or combination skin that do not leave a feeling of dryness and tightness. Do not forget that the upper layer of the skin (horny) needs to be exfoliated periodically: to do this, use gentle, without coarse particles, peelings (possible with fruit acids), or peeling rolls, which are applied to a wet or dry face, and then rolled off with light massage movements. It is better to wash off cosmetics from the eyes with a special tool designed specifically for this area. Modern bi-phase eye makeup removers remove even the most stubborn makeup in an instant. Have micellar water on hand to help remove remaining traces of makeup. Finish your cleansing routine with a toner according to your skin type.
How to stop aging
Known fact: the skin ages faster if it is dehydrated. Therefore, moisturizing always remains the number one task. Only now the composition of your cream should become more saturated and meet the needs of your age. Pay attention to products with hyaluronic acid (this is one of the main natural compounds of the skin, responsible for its hydration, elasticity and youth), collagen responsible for the elastic skin frame, retinol (vitamin A), which ensures the strength of collagen and elastin fibers, and other vitamins ( C, E), peptides that also preserve youth, etc. It is advisable to use a cream with a sun protection factor of at least 30 almost all year round, since the sun can be quite aggressive even in winter, and its direct effect contributes to both faster aging and the formation of pigment spots. If you are lost in the abundance of cosmetic products on the shelves and want to choose the most suitable cream for you, contact a cosmetologist: he will test your skin and advise exactly the home care that will bring you the greatest benefit.
Attention to the eyes
After the age of 35, special attention should be paid to the care of thin skin around the eyes, prone to the formation of mimic wrinkles, circles and puffiness. Every day you need to use a cream that tightens, brightens, moisturizes and strengthens this delicate area. Periodically, you can use masks and patches for this area: they quickly relieve fatigue and give a quick effect of an open young look (and with regular use, also long lasting).
Youth Concentrates
Now you can have various serums (active concentrates applied before using the cream) in your arsenal, aimed at solving certain problems. So, serums with hyaluronic acid perfectly moisturize, with collagen – promote elasticity and lifting, with vitamin C – improve complexion, with retinol or acids – renew and brighten the skin.
Professional care
35-45 years old is the time when the skin responds gratefully to various manipulations. In arsenal of modern cosmetology there are many tools that can literally work wonders: fill with volume, erase traces of time, restore smoothness and clarity. Every woman can find something for herself that will help her maintain youth.
- Injection procedures. Now that autumn is about to come, they are especially relevant: it’s time to restore the skin after summer holidays and exposure to the sun. Biorevitalization and bioreparation are shown, that is, saturation of the skin with hyaluronic acid preparations, mesotherapy – cocktails based on hyaluronic acid, vitamins and peptides, contouring – replenishment of missing facial volumes and correction of wrinkles with fillers based on the same hyaluronic acid. Biorevitalization and mesotherapy are usually carried out in courses consisting of several (at least three) procedures, the exact number of which is determined by the doctor based on the condition of the skin. The result of the course of procedures is smooth, moisturized, radiant skin. Contour plastic – correction of nasolabial folds, nasolacrimal sulcus, cheekbones, chin is performed only once, and the effect lasts for about a year or more.
- For those who do not accept injections, there are hardware techniques, massage techniques. So, hyaluronic acid can be applied as a gel, and then the skin is treated with ultrasound, microcurrents, laser, etc. The effect of one such procedure lasts up to three weeks, and from a series – much longer.
- Peels. Acid, mandelic, salicylic and other peels used in beauty parlors solve various skin problems: they get rid of acne, even out the relief, relieve inflammation, eliminate scars, scars and pigmentation. The best time for peeling is autumn and winter.
- Laser procedures. Manipulations on modern safe laser devices can literally transform the skin. With their help, you can smooth out wrinkles, tighten the oval of the face, make the skin more elastic and smooth, remove age spots, moles, unwanted hair, improve tone and give uniformity to the complexion, create a lifting effect for a long time. You can undergo such procedures at the Family Clinic.
A few tips
- Do not use the same cream for years, especially if it is very active. The skin gets used to the components of the cream and stops responding to them. Change your routine periodically.
- It is not necessary to apply the cream in a very thick layer, this will not increase its effectiveness. You need to use quite a bit of cream, which should be completely absorbed. There should be no sensation of a film on the face. It is better to remove excess with a napkin.
- Day cream should be applied about an hour before going outside, and night cream should be applied 40-60 minutes before bedtime.
- Before deciding on any procedures, check your health. There are conditions in which injection or laser techniques are contraindicated or will not bring the desired result.
- Sleep at least 7.30 hours a day, consume fresh vegetables and fruits daily, lead an active lifestyle, drink at least one and a half to two liters of water a day.
- Pamper not only your face, but also your body. Every day, use a moisturizer or oil, periodically undergo a massage course, do exercises and stretch.
- Maintain an adequate water balance in the body.

Combination skin features
Combination skin care is, by definition, a bit more difficult than dry or oily skin. With this type, different parts of the face behave differently: the T-zone is characterized by increased secretion of sebum, and the skin on the cheeks, on the contrary, is prone to dryness.
Combination skin highlights:
-
intense secretion of sebum in the forehead, nose and chin;
-
enlarged pores in the T-zone;
-
frequent inflammation, black spots;
-
tightness, dryness and peeling on the cheeks and periphery of the face.
It is very important not to confuse dry and dehydrated skin.
The peculiarity of the epidermis of dry skin is that it lacks its own fat and loses moisture without its protection. Therefore, dry skin is a permanent skin type.
Dehydration is a temporary and reversible condition caused by a lack of moisture in the cells. Dry, oily, and combination skin can be dehydrated.

How do you tell them apart? Here are three tips.
-
Dry skin pores are not visible, while dehydrated skin can be quite large.
-
Dry skin hardly suffers from inflammation, while oily and dehydrated skin is a common story.
-
Dehydration is most pronounced in winter, while dryness is a permanent condition.

Steps of care
Even the best skin care routine won’t work wonders to turn combination skin back to normal. But he can neutralize some troubles.
Make-up remover
Oily areas are often prone to breakouts. To warn them, make it a habit to take off your makeup before bed, no matter how tired you are during the day. Micellar water and hydrophilic oil will come to the rescue, the main condition for using them is not to rub or stretch the skin.
Wash
Do not use harsh cleansers, they cause dehydration, which only exacerbates the problems:
Toning
Toner is perhaps the most underestimated cosmetic product. They are neglected in 8 cases out of 10, and completely in vain:
Exfoliation
Exfoliation is essential for all skin types, especially those prone to clogged pores and breakouts. Use gentle scrubs or acid-based products to remove dead skin cells from the surface of the epidermis. This will help regulate the secretion of sebum and prevent acne.

Moisture
Moisturizing is essential for both dry and oily skin. The difference is only in the textures of funds:
In the case of combination skin, the following moisturizing scheme is suitable: apply a gel texture to the entire surface of the face, and on top of it, on areas prone to dryness, a thicker cream.
Deep Cleansing
Clay-based purifying masks reduce sebum production and prevent bacterial growth in pores. Apply such masks exclusively on oily areas (forehead, nose, chin) and do not let them dry out: when hardening, the clay causes tightness and discomfort.
Nourishment
Intense moisturizing cream in winter will keep combination skin from dehydration, while oil-based serums will help prevent moisture loss in drier areas. So feel free to apply a nourishing formula on top of a moisturizer.

Suitable Ingredients for Combination Skin
Combination skin requires double reading of labels to meet the needs of both oily and dry areas of the face.

-
Glycerin and hyaluronic acid are hygroscopic agents that form a moisture barrier on the skin.
-
Antioxidants , such as vitamins C and E, slow down oxidative processes, protecting cells from the negative effects of free radicals and prolonging youthfulness of the skin.
-
Lipid supplements (solid oils and essences) do not allow moisture to evaporate from the skin, which is especially true for areas prone to dryness.
-
Clay and Zinc absorb sebum and are bactericidal, so they are often included in cleansing facial masks.
-
Retinoids and acids (glycolic, lactic, salicylic) stimulate skin renewal, exfoliate dead cells. Regular exfoliation prevents both wrinkles and acne.
-
Panthenol has a soothing effect and is also a good hydrofixer.

Care at different times of the year
Among the factors that affect the care of combination skin, among other things, is seasonality.
Summer
In the warm season, the skin reduces sebum production and actively loses moisture. To prevent this process, of course, it should be intensively moisturized, choosing light textures. For example, replace a classic cream with a gel or fluid that does not clog pores and does not provoke inflammation.
In winter
Changes in temperature, dry air, frost and wind have a devastating effect on the hydro-lipid mantle of the skin. As a result, the skin becomes dry, prone to irritation and flaking. To avoid this situation, before going out, apply an intensive protective cream on your face, and use moisturizing masks at home.
Care at different ages
Obviously, time affects the body – with the onset of maturity, the skin becomes drier and its needs change. In short, the cream that you liked at the age of 20 will no longer cope with its task at 40.
Up to 25 years old
Combination skin still needs high-quality moisturizing and non-aggressive cleansing. However, due to its characteristics, it can be prone to acne. It is quite possible to prevent and reduce pimples by using cosmetics with acids and cleansing masks.
After 25 years
During this period, it is a good idea to add antioxidant products to your skin care routine to protect against aggressive factors and prevent aging. Pay special attention to hydration – look for formulas with hyaluronic acid.
After 35 years
The first signs of aging appear, associated with a decrease in the production of the body’s own hyaluronic acid. To keep this process without consequences, include an intensive moisturizer in your care, and not only in winter.

After 40 years
Combination skin wrinkles are usually late guests, but after the age of 40 there is a threat of ptosis, especially with excess weight. Postponing the appearance of this problem will help procedures in the cosmetologist’s office, including facial massage, which can be done in courses from the age of 30.
After 45 years
A timely consultation with a gynecologist before the onset of menopause will not only prolong the youthfulness of the skin, but also relieve the discomfort that accompanies this difficult period.
When it comes to skincare, you’ll need the big guns of powerful anti-aging ingredients like retinol. Its derivatives – retinoids – accelerate the process of cell renewal, which can significantly reduce the depth of wrinkles and restore tone and freshness to the face.

TOP-7 products, 10 main rules
How to understand that your skin belongs to the dry type? How to provide her with the right care? And, finally, what means will help to keep her young and beautiful for a long time? We’ve put together the most comprehensive dry skin care guide for you to answer all your questions!
DRY SKIN SPECIFICATIONS
Dry skin is skin that suffers from a lack of moisture and natural oils. Moreover, from birth and at any time of the year. This is the main difference between dry skin and dehydrated skin: dryness is a permanent sign, skin type, and dehydration is just a temporary condition that can be corrected.
! | It is important to understand: dehydrated skin, first of all, lacks moisture, and dry skin lacks sebum (sebum). |
SIGNS OF DRY SKIN
The best way to find out if you really have dry skin is to consult a beautician. And at home, you can conduct a small test. Mentally put a tick next to each statement that characterizes your skin:
- thin and sensitive;
- non-greasy;
- pores are almost imperceptible;
- does not suffer from acne and rashes;
- often flaky;
- may be rough to the touch;
- suffers from a feeling of tightness;
- is prone to early signs of aging.
The more checkmarks, the more likely it is that you have really dry skin.
CAUSES OF DRY SKIN ON THE FACE
Most often, the skin becomes dry due to disorders in the sebaceous glands. They secrete too little sebum and thus deprive the skin of its natural nourishment and protective barrier. As a result, it rapidly loses moisture and remains practically defenseless against the influence of negative environmental factors.
Other causes of dryness are:
- Heredity. Yes, dry skin can be genetic.
- Love for sunbathing. Direct sunlight dries out the skin and reduces its immunity.
- Incorrect care program. Perhaps you have misidentified your skin type and chosen the wrong products?
- Environmental factors. For example, too dry indoor air, air conditioners, strong wind or frost, etc.
- Atopic dermatitis. This is a disease that even the most nourishing creams cannot cure. A trip to the dermatologist is a must!
The more checkmarks, the more likely it is that you have really dry skin.
How to care for dry skin
Regular daily care is important for dry skin. The cumulative effect may not appear immediately, so the saying about patience and work is 100% relevant here.
Dry skin care steps
Cleansing
Make-up remover is best used with micellar water or hydrophilic oil. It dissolves fat and cosmetics, and after contact with water, it turns into an emulsion, which is enough to wash off with water. Foam or milk is best for washing dry skin, and scrubs with the smallest possible particles are best for exfoliation. They will help to gently remove dead particles from the surface of the skin and even out the complexion.
Toning
In the care of dry skin, regular toning is essential. Why? The clearer the skin, the better the moisturizers will be absorbed. Try putting some toner on a cotton pad and wipe your face right after cleansing. You will see dirt and makeup residue that makeup remover and cleanser could not remove. Thus, the tonic completes the cleansing stage and prepares the skin for the next stage of care – moisturizing. In addition, it restores the pH balance of the skin and acts as a conductor of active ingredients.
Hydration
Moisturizing can be superficial or deep. Surface hydration allows you to create an invisible barrier on the surface of the skin that seals in moisture and prevents it from evaporating. And deep hydration binds moisture molecules inside the skin and creates conditions for recovery at the cellular level.
Moisturizing at the surface level is most often provided by creams, and at the deep level – by serums and masks. Serum is usually applied after toning and 20 minutes before night cream, and masks – gel, tissue, creamy – can be done 1-3 times a week. Don’t forget to read the instructions!
Nutrition
Night cream is more responsible for nourishing dry skin. Its main task is to saturate the skin with lipids, amino acids and fats, which are necessary to maintain the hydro-lipid balance and restore the protective properties of the skin. As part of the funds, it is important to look for fatty acids (linoleic, linolenic, oleic) and natural oils (almond, shea butter, olives, etc.).
Features of morning and evening care
The beauty ritual for dry skin care must be repeated in the morning and evening throughout your life:
- In the morning choose products with SPF, especially during the sunny season. The main focus is on hydration and protection from negative environmental factors, so the texture of the day cream can be light and melting.
- In the evening the main focus is on thorough cleansing, nutrition and recovery. Be sure to use make-up remover, tonic and night cream with a dense and rich texture. It is best to apply it at least 20-30 minutes before bedtime so that the product is properly absorbed and not smeared on the pillowcase.

- Beta-carotene is an antioxidant that protects the skin from free radicals and prevents photoaging.
- Shea butter – moisturizes.
The cream has been ophthalmologically tested. Thanks to its water-oily texture, it is quickly absorbed and does not spread, so the risk of contact with the eyes is minimal. Use the product twice a day and apply along the orbital bone of the eye with soft patting movements.

Ultra Facial Deep Moisture Balm
Kiehl’s Balm is specially formulated for dry to very dry skin. It performs the same functions as a moisturizer: saturates the skin with moisture, restores the protective barrier and prevents dehydration. Among the key components are edelweiss extract and antarcticin, which have proven their effectiveness even under extreme conditions.
In addition to cucumber extract, the product contains valuable rosemary oil and natural vegetable glycerin, which help to restore the hydro-lipid balance of the skin.
