AMERICA’S MOST ACCREDITED

We’re so proud!

Nationally only 10% of daycares are accredited – nearly 100% of our learning centers are. That’s a big difference,
and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

SCHOOL-READY

What Learning Looks Like

Our talented early-childhood teachers set kids down the path toward becoming lifelong learners in a positive, safe, and nurturing environment.

Golden Meadow KinderCare Programs

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and
ready to explore their world.

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Preschool Programs (3–4 Years)

This age is all about expression, when kids really start to form their own ideas
about what they want to play and how they want to create. Every day in our
preschool classroom, your child will explore science experiments, create
artwork, and play pretend—all the skills needed for their big next step:
kindergarten!

Prekindergarten Programs (4–5 Years)

When you walk into one of our pre-K classrooms, you’ll see artwork and
writing displayed around the room. Labels are everywhere to help kids connect
letters with words. You’ll also see pictures on the walls that reflect the families
in our community. Your child will also deepen their knowledge in language,
math, science, Spanish, and social skills.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Learning Adventures – Enrichment Program

Cooking Academy™ (3 – 12 Years)

In Cooking Academy, kids learn new recipes from cultures around the world and
develop a healthy relationship with food. They’ll whip up everything from Southwest
rainbow lettuce wraps to pumpkin muffins, building their skills in STEM, communication,
and more along the way. And yes—little chefs get to eat their culinary creations!

Music Explorers™ (2 – 4 Years)

KinderCare families are already giving a standing ovation to our newest Learning
Adventures program: Music Explorers! Kids will learn to sing, move, listen, play
instruments, and even create their own tunes. Our original curriculum blends math,
science, social studies, literacy, and mindfulness (think yoga!) for a uniquely KinderCare
way of learning the foundations of music.

Phonics Adventures® (2 – 4 Years)

Learning how to read is a whole lot of fun at KinderCare! We help kids grow to love
books and words (and get ready for kindergarten) in our Phonics Adventures program.
From discovering the basics of vowels to practicing poetry, kids learn all about letters
and sounds in small-group lessons made just for their age group. (Bonus: Kids who
attend our phonics program are more prepared than their peers for school—and we
have the data to prove it.)

Spanish

Spanish Adventures provides young learners with a foundation for later success with
the Spanish language. Music, games, children’s Spanish literature, and other tools give
children multiple opportunities to hear, practice, and see Spanish language to develop
vocabulary and conversation skills. Curriculum includes lessons on greetings, numbers,
colors, animals, family, body parts, and pets, as well as how to engage conversationally
during common scenarios at home, a restaurant, or at the zoo.

STEM Innovators (3-8 Years)

You’ve probably heard a lot about how important STEM education is for your child, but
what does that really mean? Our STEM Innovators program takes kids’ natural ability to
make sense of the world and applies it to robotics, chemistry, coding, geology, and
more. While your child experiments, they’ll discover how to use technology to do
amazing things!

Our Teachers

We’re the only company in early childhood education to select teachers based on natural talent. Being a great educator isn’t enough though.
KinderCare teachers are also amazing listeners, nurturers, boo-boo fixers, and smile-makers. Put more simply,
we love our teachers and your child will, too.

A KINDERCARE TEACHER WITH

An Artist’s Heart

“My classroom is full of art!” says Mary Annthipie-Bane, an award-winning early childhood educator at KinderCare. Art and creative expression, she says, help children discover who they really are.

We put our best-in-class teachers in a best-in-class workplace. We’re so proud to have been named one of Gallup’s 37 winners of the Great Workplace Award.
When you put great teachers in an engaging center, your children will experience
an amazing place to learn and grow.

Family Stories

Don’t take our word for it. Hear what our families have to say about our amazing center!

  • My daughter Heaven and I moved into a new house in July 2006 when she was 1 year old. I found the Golden Meadow Circle KinderCare shortly thereafter. Having already had Heaven in a KinderCare since she was 8 weeks old and I had to return to work, I knew they were a good group, and they moved me to an open slot and we switched up immediately. This KinderCare was specific to my needs close to home and a perfect size classroom ratio. We have been with this center now for nearly 6 years and I love it, but more importantly my daughter Heaven loves it as well. The teachers and staff are like family and they provide loving care and guidance as needed. There are a wide range of programs for learning that are fun and interesting to my child. She has been enrolled in phonics, math, cooking and one or two others that have helped her have the edge moving forward into school. The child interaction that is present is also a great help in raising a single child, to help them adjust into a school environment. The center has outstanding support for the families that are here at the center, such as parent’s night out events and a super summer camp program. They have all been great teachers, friends and role models for my daughter. I am glad I found this center and I am here to stay for as long as my daughter remains interested and involved with the programs, staff and her friends.

  • My experience with KinderCare Golden Meadow has been fantastic. I have two sons, five and almost three years old, and the care, love and learning that they have received since they’ve been at this center are phenomenal. As a former preschool teacher and current elementary teacher, I know what good care should look like, and this is it. I feel completely at ease leaving them there each day because the teachers truly love them like they are their own. The things that they learn and share at home just blow me away as well. The best part is the fact that they love coming to school, and often don’t even want to leave when I come to pick them up. It feels like a family, and I wouldn’t want my kids to be anywhere else.

    Blossom – KinderCare Parent
  • This is our second child into KinderCare (Golden Meadow center) and it was a no-brainer decision for us, as our first child joined this KinderCare with no English speaking skills. We were really amazed to see him speak so much English with an overwhelming vocabulary in just a few weeks and soon started singing rhymes taught in the center. We absolutely credit this to the fact that they have a very knowledgeable staff and a highly responsive and energetic director, who makes this facility feel like a family and a community to parents.

    Venkat – KinderCare Parent
  • Our child is two years old and has been enrolled for four months at Golden Meadow Circle KinderCare. Prior to daycare, she was cared for by her grandparent. As most parents, we become nervous on how our child could react to daycare after having that close one on one attention. Would she feel loved? Would she be safe? Would she learn? It didn’t take long to answer those questions, the answers are yes. One thing we particularly love about the program and staff is the focus around making the children feel welcome, after-all, it is their home-away-from-home. For example, every morning our daughter is consistently greeted by name with a sincere “Good Morning” from the Director as she enters the building. The same occurs with the teacher, who warmly invites her into the classroom. Every day during the past four months, our daughter has felt important, comfortable and happy. Some days she does not want to leave! We could not be happier with the program, teachers and management.

    Renee – KinderCare Parent
  • My husband and I are so happy that our daughter attends a daycare center which thrives on providing a lot of love and care to their students. Our daughter has always been very attached to us and we were nervous with how she would react when beginning daycare but the director, Amy, and the fantastic teachers and staff made us feel at ease and relaxed, tending to our daughter with a lot of love, patience, care, and understanding. Our daughter, who is now in the preschool program, absolutely loves going to KinderCare Golden Meadow and we, as parents, feel so happy to know she is content there and is learning and exploring so much that the curriculum has to offer. She has truly blossomed since enrolling and it is all thanks to the amazing directors, teachers, and staff! Any question or concern we have is always handled with care and professionalism in adequate time. We cannot wait to enroll our second daughter there in due time and highly recommend this care center to all of our friends with children!

    Seeta P. – KinderCare Parent
  • The very first day I came to Golden Meadow KinderCare, I felt such a warm feeling when I walked through the door. It’s been over a year now since my grandson joined the program and I still get that warm feeling! The teachers and staff are fantastic and they really care about the children. We are so happy to be part of the Golden Meadow KinderCare family.

Chapter 1

Flight

Huge drops of rain fell on Adrienne’s bare arms and face as her mother carried her from under the porch canopy down the creaky wooden steps. There was a clatter of feet and a ragged breath, hands squeezing her body to the point of pain.

She turned to look at her mother’s face. Her eyes were wide open. Mascara dripped down pale cheeks. The woman flinched as lightning flashed across the sky, brilliant white against the dark silhouette of the house.

Huge, lopsided Ashburn towered over them. The white paint was peeling in places, revealing dirty gray wood, and the black windows stared out at the front lawn like dead eyes. The sun had already set, and the storm clouds were bright reds and pinks. Animals in the woods made all sorts of sounds, some insects jumped around, and a mother with her daughter in her arms ran through the tall grass to a car parked by a muddy driveway.

Adrienne fell into the passenger seat and the car door slammed shut. The mother did not fasten the girl, and this frightened her. Mom never forgot about it before. She turned to the window to look at the house and saw the front door slid open.

Mom jumped into the driver’s seat, the engine roared and the bald tires skidded through the mud. As they drove away, Adrienne thought she saw the figure of a man in the doorway.

Incredibly tall, in a long black robe. Adrienne and her mother took turns looking in the rearview mirror until the car turned a very sharp turn and the house disappeared behind thick trees.

Adrienne’s mother didn’t say anything, only panting, not noticing the tears, the mascara smeared on her cheeks and the drops of blood on her neck.

Chapter 2

A gift from a stranger

Seventeen years later

Every time Wolfgang made a long mournful sound, the taxi driver would smirk and snort with laughter as if it were the funniest thing in the world. Adrienne tried to smile back, but it wasn’t sincere. Usually Wolfgang was a calm and quiet cat. He must have really hated the taxi driver to express his outrage so often. He didn’t even notice the treat that Adrienne slipped through the bars of the carrier while he never refused treats.

“Sorry, buddy,” she whispered, hearing probably the millionth “meow” by now. – There’s still a little left.

The huge gray cat turned sea-green eyes to her and showed the most heartbreaking suffering that cats are capable of.

– Do you have family here? – the taxi driver, a young and energetic man, furiously pressing the gas pedal to the floor, had already tried several times during the trip to start a conversation, however, Adrienne was not strong in small talk even at the best of times, and this morning turned out to be far from the best.

– No… that is… apparently, there was once? It was a terrible answer to a question, but Adrienne wasn’t ready to tell the taxi driver that she’d inherited the house from a relative her mother assured her didn’t even exist.

The taxi driver looked like he was about to ask another question, but Wolfgang let out another plaintive groan, to which the driver again grunted and shook his head. Adrienne was grateful for that. The past week had been so chaotic that she had hardly had a second to herself, and now a wave of unsettling thoughts descended upon her.

Miss Edith Ashburn bequeathed her property to you…

Adrienne would never have thought that she would receive an inheritance. Of course, she dreamed about it – fantasized about how her father turns out to be a king or she unexpectedly meets a lonely millionaire. However, Adrienne grew up, and loans, medical bills and debt payments became her reality, and her dreams faded into the background.

The will was also a surprise because the mother strongly insisted that they had no relatives left. According to the twitchy lawyer, Edith Ashburn was the daughter of Adrienne’s mother’s grandmother’s sister. Therefore, she was Adrienne’s great aunt, but the girl felt that for the sake of peace, she needed to see the family tree with her own eyes.

The taxi driver turned the corner too fast and Adrienne had to grab the carrier to keep it from hitting the car door. Wolfgang howled, the girl mumbled unnecessary apologies to the driver, and the taxi driver laughed.

“Here is your village,” he said, and Adrienne looked up from her carrier to look at the pile of buildings scattered in front of them.

Ipson was a tiny provincial town. According to the Internet, its population was about eight to nine hundred people. The town turned out to be unexpectedly beautiful – large green trees lined the streets, and the houses looked relatively clean and well maintained. Two blocks from the main street with many small shops, next to the town hall was a tiny school. Even from this distance, Adrienne could make out the gleaming bronze spire of the church.

Closer to the outskirts, apartment buildings gave way to small farms.

They descended into the valley. For several minutes the road ran along a bright blue, winding ribbon of a river with willow-covered banks, then the car drove into the city.

Holding onto the carrier with one hand to keep Wolfgang from the worst jolts on the road, Adrienne stared out the window to take in the place that was supposed to be her home.
