how to make friends online with offline? – EduTech Club
Download
In the new issue of EduTech magazine “ Hybrid learning: how to make friends online with offline? » you will learn about the specifics of hybrid learning, approaches to developing educational programs, and:0011 3 successful cases of training in a hybrid format
Asymmetric crises, such as the coronavirus pandemic, affect various areas of human activity, including education. The consequences can be extremely ambiguous: one crisis can give new opportunities, while other areas can be threatened with destruction.
New formats of education are exactly the opportunity that the crisis can give to education.
- Before the lockdown, we worked in the usual face-to-face format; online courses existed, but did not occupy a strong and large-scale position.
- After the transition to the lockdown, the world suddenly switched to remote education mode, and there were many successful ideas.
- Then came the period of recovery – a new normality, in which hybrid formats are being actively introduced, the search for synergy between the two worlds (pre-pandemic and post-pandemic) is underway.
02
The most powerful trends affecting education today:
- hybrid classrooms and blended learning
- enhanced opportunities for certification of knowledge and skills
- educational partnerships with business
- online accessibility of the educational program from any device anywhere
- proctoring
Security Compliant Campus
03
The difference between mixed and hybrid formats is provided not so much by the proportion between activities of one kind and another, but by the types of synchronization of participants. The hybrid format involves the parallel work of online participants and full-time students in a single hybrid learning environment.
04
Five models of hybrid learning from education transformation evangelist John Spencer:
- Differentiated – synchronous and regular interaction between online and face-to-face groups of students.
- Multitrack – students in synchronous classes are divided into cohorts, each of which follows its own educational trajectory.
- A/V model – students change types of training: face-to-face or online. Online learning in this case occurs mostly asynchronously.
- Virtual group – if there are few students present online (3-4 people), they can function as a virtual autonomous group, from time to time connecting to face-to-face classes via video link.
- Offline project – A small group of online learners are invited to complete a small project.
05
Hybrid learning gives you more variability and flexibility in how you set up your learning. However, when designing an educational solution, it is necessary to take into account a number of factors that will inevitably affect the effectiveness of training in a hybrid format:
- tools and technologies
- content adaptation
- time management
- digital skills of teachers and students
- qualification level of teachers
- student support
06
Key steps in designing and building a hybrid program:
- assess the opportunities and challenges
- analyze and adjust learning goals
- plan learning activities
- tailor content, scoring, and course rules
- take trial classes
07
Hybrid learning can only be built on the foundation of a productive learning culture: it must be open and safe, provide equal opportunities for students, and make the best use of various communication channels.
Creating a hybrid educational environment is a long-term and strategically difficult task, in which it is important to take a proactive position, avoid the mechanical transfer of previous pedagogical formats and anticipate the further development of education.

Levels of education in the Russian Federation – news in the field of Russian education
November 21, 2019© Shutterstock. com
The Russian education system is multi-level, involving different forms and directions of obtaining knowledge. In this article we will consider the stages of education in Russia.
Classification of education in Russia
Let’s see what education is like in Russia:
-
Preschool . From the age of three, a child can go to kindergarten.
-
Initial general . In the Russian school, children begin to study at the age of six; Primary education takes four years and is considered compulsory.
-
Basic general . Training from 5th to 9thth class is also mandatory for everyone. After the 9th grade, students take exams. Further education can be continued at school or enter a technical school, college.
-
Secondary general (from 9th to 11th grade at school) or secondary vocational (technical school, college). In the first case, training takes another two years, at the end of the 11th grade, students pass the unified state exam (USE), its results are taken into account in the competitive selection of applicants to higher educational institutions. In the second case, studies last from three to four years, the graduate acquires a specialty and can work.
-
Higher . The system is built according to the Bologna principle, consists of several levels: bachelor’s degree, specialist’s degree, master’s degree, postgraduate study, residency and others.
Levels of higher professional education
Higher education provides for obtaining qualifications in the chosen specialty. In the USSR, higher education was one-stage: after five years of study at a university (six for medical specialties), a graduate received a diploma of a specialist with a higher education. In 2003, Russia joined the Bologna process, which involves the gradual formation of a single European standard for higher education. The first of the Russian universities that switched to a two-level higher education (bachelor’s and master’s) back in 1995, became RUDN University. Now all Russian universities adhere to this format (although in some areas, for example, medicine, the specialist will remain).
Undergraduate studies take four years. A bachelor’s degree confirms the receipt of higher education. A graduate can work in his specialty or continue his education in a magistracy. However, the diploma does not give the right to enter graduate school and engage in scientific activities. That is, the bachelor’s program is aimed more at training practitioners than scientists.
Master’s studies are designed for two years. After the master’s degree, you can either work in your specialty, or go to graduate school and engage in scientific work.
Training of scientific personnel
Those who intend to engage in science or teach at universities, after receiving a specialist or master’s degree, can continue their studies in graduate school, while simultaneously conducting teaching and research work. Postgraduate studies take two to four years. In professions related to art, an assistantship is equated to graduate school, in military specialties – postgraduate studies.
