A year has passed since the events of the first Night Watch movie. Dozor agent Anton Gorodetsky and his student Svetlana Nazarova driving along the motorway near the Moscow Exhibition Center. Sveta reads aloud the legend of how Tamerlane came to take possession of the Chalk of Destiny – an ancient artifact that, according to the prophecy, has the ability to change fate. Suddenly, the receiver in the truck receives an alarm signal. An elderly woman was attacked by the Dark One near the Expocenter. He plunged a needle into her and began to suck out the life force. Anton and Svetlana find the woman, as well as the attacker. The Dark One leads Light into the Twilight, Anton follows them. After some time, Svetlana and the Dark One go to the second level of the Twilight, where only the Great Ones can go, Anton cannot go there.
