16 correct questions for a child after school

The new school year will start soon. Some of the children will change teachers. Someone will make new friends, someone will go to school for the first time. How to find out how the adaptation at school is going if the child does not answer questions directly? Let’s be cunning by coming up with different wordings of questions. Here they are.

Usually the dialogue with the student looks like this:

“Hey honey, how was your day?”
“Good”
“What did you do at school today?”
“I don’t know”
“Hmm, what do you mean I don’t know?”
“I don’t remember”
“Can you remember one thing?”
“I don’t remember, mom”
“Okay, did you do any project today or something like that?”
“Yes”
“Oh, what was that?”
“Hmm… I don’t remember, Mom, please stop asking me!”

Upsets? Still would! But you must understand that general questions are not what will bring your child to clean water. We need to act differently.
I realized pretty quickly that if I wanted to know how my son’s day went and what was going on in his life, I had to be strategic.
As parents, we obviously want to know what happens in our children’s lives when they are not with us. And we definitely want to know how their high school experience goes.
In fact, two of the questions on the list below helped me discover a bullying situation that was happening at my own son’s school! So asking is very important. To get to the truth, you need to have some unusual questions on hand to ask the kids, and at the same time, so that they are not limited to the answers “yes”, “no” or “great”. Luckily, we have a whole list of open questions for kids that are perfect for this purpose. Good luck!

16 questions to ask kids about their school day and have them answer you:

1. Who did you play with at recess?

2. Who was sitting next to you in class today?

3. What was your favorite moment today?

4. When were you sad today?

5. Did you help someone at school today?

6. What book did you read today in literature?

7. What is the funniest thing that happened in your class today?

8. What is the most interesting thing you heard at school today?

9. If you could only change one thing about your school, what would it be?

10. If you had $1,000 to buy something for your school, what would you buy?

11. What is the funniest thing that happened at recess today?

12. Which of the guys had something unusual happen today?

13. Who is your best friend?

14. What was the most difficult thing today?

15. What do you like most about your teacher?

16. Who is the most handsome in your class?

Talking to our children about school is a great opportunity to learn how they learn and interact with peers and teachers. It’s also a good way to probe for any potential bullying situations so you can intervene before they get out of hand.
I found out about the bullying situation at my son’s school when I asked questions 4 and 9. They were the key to get the child to talk and talk about his concerns. I would never have known about the bully if I had not asked these two questions to my child and it is not known how this story would have ended.
Now I try to be ready with questions for children that are well formulated and work. This is a real salvation when you are faced with daily childish silence. The next time your child doesn’t feel like making contact, try pulling out this list of questions to ask the kids about their school day.
Perhaps this is exactly what you need to break the ice and start a conversation.

Life after school: army or university

Schooling has come to an end. Exams were successfully passed, graduation parties died down. The next page of a young man’s life is turned over. But it often happens that not all young men know what to do next – go to the army or get higher education at the university? We will try to answer this question from a legal point of view.

After passing the final exams in the form of the Unified State Examination and receiving a certificate, the graduate has the right to enter any higher educational institution.

As a rule, in the vast majority of Russian universities, the acceptance of documents, including the competitive selection procedure, falls at the beginning of July. This year, the deadlines for submitting documents are specified in the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation dated October 14, 2015. According to it,

  • for full-time and part-time forms, the deadline for accepting documents is no later than June 20;
  • deadline for accepting documents from applicants based on the results of additional entrance examinations of a creative and (or) professional orientation – no earlier than July 7;
  • The deadline for completing all ongoing introductory events is July 26.

That is, for a month young people are in a borderline state: they are no longer schoolchildren, but not yet students. What about young people, they turn 18 and, not having time to apply to the university, they fall under the summer draft into the army?

All issues related to conscription for compulsory military service are regulated by the Federal Law of March 28, 1998 N 53-ФЗ “On military duty and military service”.

Some time ago there was a serious problem in which young people who had just graduated from school, but had already reached the age of 18, could be called up for military service. Currently, the law provides for a special deferment for high school graduates, which is valid until October 1 of the year of graduation.

If a student turns 18 years old before receiving a certificate, he must submit a certificate to the military registration and enlistment office (form 26).

After graduation, he has the right to receive a deferment for entering a university, but only if he successfully passed the exam. To apply for a deferment to the military registration and enlistment office, you must bring a certificate and a certificate with the results of exams.

After admission, another deferral comes into effect, which is given for higher education.

At the same time, there are certain rules for granting such a delay.

  • First of all, the young person must enroll in a university for the first time after graduating from high school (and not college or technical school), that is, not to use their right to deferment before.
  • Second, only those who are enrolling in a bachelor’s or specialist’s degree program are eligible for the deferment. It is important to note that if the deferral was used for the period of study in educational institutions of secondary specialized education (college or technical school), then its re-use when entering a university, unfortunately, is impossible.
  • Also, a deferral is not granted when receiving a second higher education. The second deferment is possible only for admission to the magistracy after the bachelor’s degree and postgraduate studies.

But if a graduate has not passed the Unified State Examination, then he is not granted a deferment. If there are no other restrictions for military service, he will join the army. A young man will be able to retake the exams, but after the service.

This also applies to those who have not scored the required number of points for admission. Since retaking the exam for such young people is provided only after a year, and a delay for this time is not provided, he may be called upon.

It is also important to note that if, after completing 11th grade, a young man decides to enter a technical school or college instead of a higher educational institution, he is also not granted a deferment.

In any case, in accordance with paragraph 1 of Art. 28 of the Federal Law “On military duty and military service”, a deferment from conscription for military service is granted by the decision of the draft commission.
