Two children drowned on a river in the Yakovlevsky district – rescuers, police and volunteers are looking for another girl (UPDATED)
Three children disappeared in the Yakovlevsky district of Primorye while swimming on the Arsenyevka River – a criminal case has been opened. It is known that four children from 8 to 12 years old from the village of Novosysoevka went to the river without adult supervision. One of the boys began to drown, his friends and brother tried to help, but they were carried away by the current. As a result, only one child was able to get ashore and tell his parents about what had happened. During the day, two bodies of drowned children were found.
First, the incident was reported by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Primorsky Territory. The duty unit of police department No. 12 of the inter-municipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia “Arsenevsky” received a message about the disappearance of three minors.
On Saturday, June 24, at 12:00, the children went to the Arsenievka River, after which they did not return home.
Search and rescue activities have been organized, in which volunteers, police and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations take part.
Signs of the missing:
8-year-old boy – height 120-130 cm, slim build, short dark blond hair, brown eyes.
9-year-old boy – height 100-110 cm, slim build, short light blond hair, brown eyes.
12-year-old girl – height 120-150 cm, slim build, dark blond hair, brown eyes.
The police invite anyone who has information about the whereabouts of minors to contact any department of internal affairs by calling 02, 102 (mobile).

Update 15:11 : A criminal case has been initiated into the disappearance of three children in Primorye.
According to the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Primorsky Territory, on June 24, four minors – 8, 10 and 12 years old – went swimming in the Arsenyevka River in the Yakovlevsky District without adult supervision.
It was established that one of the children began to drown and called for help from friends, the latter tried to save the boy, but they were carried away by the current. Clinging to a snag, one of the guys climbed ashore, called his mother and told about what had happened.
A criminal case was initiated on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence).
The prosecutor’s office of the Yakovlevsky district also organized an investigation into the incident on the Arsenyevka River. The supervisory authority clarifies that the children left the village of Novosysoevka. Search and rescue activities continue.
Update 17:30 : 30 people, 11 pieces of equipment, including 4 boats, are involved in the search for children.
Rescuers EMERCOM of Russia survey the water area.
Vladivostok PSO of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Primorsky Territory found one of the missing. Unfortunately, he drowned. The Investigative Committee clarifies that the body of a 10-year-old boy was found.
Update 19:00 : The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that the body of the second drowned child has been found. The search for the missing girl born in 2011 continues.
