    Upcoming Kidz in Lids Days!

“We are thrilled to host our first-ever district-wide Kidz in Lids day. Children’s Cancer Partners means so much to our district and community. This is just one easy and fun way to give back. We look forward to future partnership with Kidz in Lids.”

Donna Gutshall, Spartanburg District 6 Assistant Superintendent

“I choose to raise money for Children’s Cancer Partners because I have realized how grateful I should be for all I have. I just want to give back as much as I can to deserving kids in the community who are fighting cancer.”

Julia Graham, Student at Spartanburg High School

How did Kidz in Lids get started?

Paige, an energetic 5th grader got this all started by walking into her principal’s office at a Carolina middle school. She had some friends battling cancer, and wanted to do something for the annual September Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Paige and her principal hatched this idea together and promoted it school wide. One of the parents offered to match the first $200 and when the first Kidz in Lids Day was over, Paige and her school had raised over $1,000!

A childhood cancer diagnosis is crushing for families. One parent leaves work to be a caregiver, but the bills still come. Pediatric cancer centers are few and far between so treatment travel, sometimes daily for months, is costly – and some treatments are only available in New York, Philadelphia, Houston or beyond. CCP provides these families with the funds needed for transportation, lodging and food associated with these vital treatments. You can join in our important work by registering your school for our Kidz in Lids program now!

    • When does Kidz in Lids take place?

The Kidz in Lids program can take place on any school day that is convenient for your school. Some schools choose to participate during National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month in September, but any day during the school year is fine. The event can be carried out on a single day, for a specific week or month, or extended to one day a week for over several weeks to generate greater participation and awareness.

Teachers, Staff and Visiting Parents can jump in too – and wear their jeans all day if they bring in and contribute $5.

    • How do we get more information or sign up to participate?

We invite all Carolina schools to join in this fun and meaningful program! To request more information about how we can customize this program for your school please contact Kate at 803-608-2505 or by email at [email protected].

“My baby” – child care from the first days of life.

    Overview

When a small child appears in the house, the main tasks of parents are to create an optimal environment for him and provide for his needs. We tell you how the “My Baby” care products will help your mother

    How to equip a nursery

First you need to properly organize the space and content of the children’s room. It should contain the minimum possible number of things that can accumulate dust. It is better to refuse carpets, a large amount of upholstered furniture, books, soft toys. Microbes such as staphylococcus, streptococcus and salmonella are quickly killed in the air or during washing, but can remain for months in sources of house dust. It is better to strive to ensure that the surface of all objects is accessible for wet cleaning, which must be carried out daily.
The room should have a room thermometer, a hygrometer (determines the humidity of the air), as well as a small lamp with a soft diffused light that helps the mother take care of the baby at night.

An important role in the daily care of a child is played by the correct selection of cosmetic products that are used in each important care procedure.

    Diaper change

It is recommended to change diapers every 3 hours, regardless of their quality and cost. At night, if the child is not bothered by anything, the diaper change time can be increased to 6-7 hours. With each diaper change, it is recommended to arrange air baths for the baby for 15-20 minutes. To wash your baby in warm running water, you will be helped by solid cream-soap “My baby”, or liquid soap in a bottle with a dispenser.

If it is not possible to wash your baby, you can use “My baby” wipes to cleanse the skin, which also provide complete care. After wiping the baby’s skin with wipes, wait until the baby’s skin is completely dry, and only then apply baby cream (if necessary) and put on a new diaper. Baby wipes “My baby” are simply indispensable for trips and walks when there is no access to water procedures.

    Bathing

Bathing for many babies is one of the favorite activities from the first days of life. This is not surprising, since within nine months, the child grows and develops in utero in an aquatic environment. It is best to bathe children every day at the same time, best before evening feeding. The optimal water temperature for bathing babies is 36-37˚ C., while the air temperature should be about 22-24˚C.

For daily water treatments, you can use the bath and baby shampoo for seborrheic crusts “My baby”. Both products are designed with children’s skin in mind. We also recommend using the My Baby solid cream soap with vitamins, which provide additional care for the sensitive skin of a child.

    Massage

For the correct development of the child in the first year of his life, it is necessary to carry out up to 4 massage sessions, starting from the age of one and a half months.
