Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin said that Ukraine still has the strength to continue the counteroffensive. He made the corresponding statement at a joint press conference with the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea James Marape in the city of Port Moresby, reports TASS .

“They are trying to overcome minefields and other obstacles, but they still have a lot of strength. When and how these forces are used will be decided on the basis of assessments of the situation by their leadership,” the head of the military department said, speaking about the Ukrainian side.

According to him, Kyiv still has “some possibilities” in terms of offensive operations.

“And we can expect them to keep putting pressure on us,” Austin added.
