During a child’s formative years, developmental cards are almost a necessity, and not just for entertainment. Flashcards are great for games and just starting conversations with your child. Plus they’re great fun!

It’s long been known that the key to developing a child’s intellectual abilities is their personal perception and experiences during the first five years of life. By showing your child these cards, you’ll:

A Proven Approach

Start playing with your child by showing them flashcards three times a day. Do one or two sections at a time and for just 2-3 seconds for each card. Play close attention to your child’s level of engagement – when they become disinterested, stop the game.

As time progresses you should be able to increase the length of each period you use the cards, but again pay attention to your child’s level of interest as these cards work best when your child is fully engaged.

Want to like this game, but after using it with my kiddo for a few days, the audio stopped working. The iPhone audio works fine, we checked the settings, everything is toggled on “ON”. We now play other games and are unable to use this one. Seems that if it was functional, it would be a great product from an education standpoint.

Children, Russian language and R / Sudo Null IT News

A typical situation in the current educational process at school. At 22:00, a new task appears in the child’s electronic diary. At best, the day after tomorrow, but usually tomorrow.

Three reaction options:

  • do not do at all;
  • “not notice” and postpone the decision of the issue until later;
  • try to do.

The second reaction is essentially identical to the first, since the snowball of such tasks will rapidly accumulate without any chance of dismantling it.

Choosing the third option, in some cases, even tasks in the Russian language can be tried with R, taking into account that there is a maximum of 15-20 minutes for everything about everything. 5 minutes for “extreme programming”, 10-15 minutes for final design. When the problem is solved in principle, the design can be done already in the morning

It is a continuation of a series of previous publications.

Naturally, you have to write or think the essay yourself. But there is a certain class of tasks that looks like a task for a robot and is algorithmized well.

Below are just generalized examples, for sure, many will find something to add.

Task 1

Compilation of crossword puzzles (Russian/English). There are pseudo-variations – drawing up in a given geometric structure or in free form. Optionally, a theme can be set.

Task 2

Find N words on a given topic in which there are (missing) letters (a subset to choose from).

Problem 3

Pick up N words that can be written with ‘not’ both together and separately.

This class of problems implies a large vocabulary. This “long” strategy is solved only by systematic reading of fiction.
N can be really big (several dozen), but we have 5 minutes.

Step #1. We are looking for and loading ready-made corpora of the Russian language. You can use whatever you can find. Recently a good selection was here. If it is not there, then you can look in the pantry.

Step #2. [vezhzknosheyu]+$")) %>%
mutate(l = stri_length(word)) %>%
arrange(desc(l)) %>%
print(n=400)

Solving problem 3 . What nouns can be written with ‘not’ both together and separately?

 tic("Annotating")
print(lubridate::now())
ann_tbl <- voc_df %>%
  mutate(ne_word = stri_c("not", word)) %>%
  inner_join(voc_df, by = c("ne_word" = "word")) %>%

  select(word = token) %>%
  # some post-corrections
  filter(stri_length(word) > 3) %>%
  filter(!stri_detect_regex(word, "u$")) %>%
  mutate(ne_word = stri_c("not", word)) %>%
  sample_n(200) %T>%
  print(n=200)

Etc. etc. There is no goal to write a perfectly working algorithm, the main task is to weed out 99% of the unnecessary as quickly as possible, and choose what interests you from the rest. Saves a lot of time, effort and nerves.

P.S.

  1. Write your thoughts and complaints about the educational process on kremlin.ru, it is pointless to write them here in the comments.
  2. A fairly regular scenario is described, which is typical for the current education system and one of the possible ways of reaction. ONE OF. It is not worth giving an assessment to anyone, especially since there is no specific information here except for the formulation of tasks. You are 100% wrong.
  3. It will be good if everyone who wants to give advice in the comments first writes how many children he has and what age. The correction factor to the advice will be clear.
  4. If you decide to write advice or a private opinion “for life” in the comments, then the publication did not imply any such instructive advice, no one asked them.

Children about the Russian language. Clear, interesting and with pictures

A book on the Russian language is not always just a set of tables and rules. A book on the Russian language may not look like a textbook at all, but much more like an adventure story. History that is happening here and now. After all, language is constantly changing!

The books included in this collection are written specifically for children. In them, the authors vividly and fascinatingly tell not only how oral and written speech has developed over the centuries, but also help to understand the changes that are taking place right before our eyes and in which we ourselves are directly involved. And they also explain complex rules to the child in a simple and figurative language. It’s no secret that the easiest thing to remember is what we are really interested in!

“How did the alphabet come about?” will appeal to those who love riddles and secret ciphers, as well as interesting and informative stories. From it you will learn how different peoples passed messages to each other before the advent of writing, who invented the letter “E”, why high school students memorized the poem: “White, pale, poor demon ran away hungry into the forest . ..”, what is the difference between the modern alphabet and the ancient Slavic and many many others.
For primary school age.

How did the alphabet originate?
Alexandre Monvizh-Montvid

About some letters of the old Russian alphabet, we do not even know how to read them correctly. What did they mean, how did they sound, and why did they disappear? What was the first Russian alphabet? Who and when came up with the letter “e”, which is still sometimes written, sometimes not written? The letters of the Russian language surround us everywhere – so let’s find out their history.

Missing letters of the alphabet
Elena Popovskaya, Leonid Kochetkov

The Russian language – rich and figurative, colorful and capacious – is our national wealth, which we must protect. The book tells how, when and why familiar and familiar words and expressions appeared in our language, what “wars” were fought for the purity of the Russian language, how writers and poets tried to “renew” their native speech and what came of it. This publication can be a good help in writing reports and essays for middle school students, as well as awaken their interest in further, more detailed study of certain aspects of the history of the language.

Russian language. History pages
Svetlana Lavrova

The content of this book is like playing with fire. At least from a layman’s point of view, it will most likely look like this, because much of what you learn about stands out decently against the background of the accepted and most simple language approach to the division into “right” and “wrong”. This book is not for fighters for the purity of the language, and even more so not for Grammar Nazis. Because both of them are somehow prone to outbursts of linguistic arrogance. I am convinced that the love of a language does not lie in a sincere desire to fight against mistakes. Love for the language lies in acceptance – you can sow what is reasonable, good and eternal without any value judgments. Because time passes, the world changes – and the language reflects this.
This bright color edition will be an excellent gift and will be of interest to both children and adults who want to learn about the most unexpected features of our great and mighty Russian language.

Big book about beloved Russian
Polina Masalygina

Masha Traub has long and firmly established herself in the hearts and minds of readers – both as a journalist writing articles for magazines and websites, and as the author of numerous fiction books. But this book will surprise admirers of her talent: who could have expected that the rules of the Russian language would become a “hot” topic for Masha, which would turn into a mini-encyclopedia addressed to schoolchildren and their parents in a stormy stream. “To develop in children, if not passion, but at least curiosity for their native language” – this is the goal of this unusual book. And yet not in the eyebrow, but in the eye: “I know for sure that what is interesting to the parent will be interesting to the children.” And we will add – it will be interesting to everyone who appreciates humor, thinks and speaks Russian!
No one will tell you better about this unusual book than the author herself – the light, inimitable, witty Masha Traub.
This is a guide for homework-weary parents. For whom homonyms, synonyms, antonyms and paronyms sound exactly the same.
Ideal for happy parents of “techie” kids. It is also suitable for parents of the humanities.

Internet users have long been familiar with “Russian in CATS” – a series of simple pictures dedicated to the rules of the Russian language. Funny cats and one lion have been helping to write correctly and point out mistakes without offending the interlocutor for several years. An educator by education and an artist by nature, Anna Belovitskaya (dalwen) has already drawn more than a hundred “cat cribs”, focusing on figurative thinking and associative connections. She pays special attention to those cases where a mistake can change the meaning of the statement. Boring rules and long wording have given way to clear explanations and fun examples.

“Journey into the Word” is an unusually fascinating book by Eduard Vartanyan, which tells about the life of words – about their origin (etymology), modification over time, the emergence of new meanings .
