L. 2000, c. 77 (N.J.S.A. 30:5B-6.10 to 6.17). The sponsor or sponsor representative and each staff member shall complete the electronic fingerprinting process through the vendor authorized by the State to conduct CHRI background checks through the Division of State Police in the Department of Law and Public Safety and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Fire prevention requirements are as follows: the center shall conduct fire drills at least once a month, as specified in the NJUFC. The center shall provide sleeping equipment for children 12 months of age and younger, the center shall provide for each child a crib, that complies with the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s (CPSC) Federal Safety Standards for Full- Size and Non-Full-Size Baby Cribs; 16 CFR 1219 and 1220, which is incorporated herein by reference, and can be obtained through the CPSC’s website at https://www. cpsc.gov/Safety-Education/Safety- Education-Centers/cribs , playpen, or other Office of Licensing-approved sleeping equipment that meets the following requirement that sleeping equipment shall be free of pillows and soft bedding, including, but not limited to bumper pads, when occupied by a sleeping child. Violation Observed: Ensure that sleeping equipment is free of pillows, soft bedding, bumpers and other hazards when occupied by a sleeping child. Crib and pack and play bedding was loose in multiple rooms.

There is a boom in restaurants in the Kids-friendly format in Moscow. These are institutions that always have a children’s room with toys, cartoons and other entertainment.

Benefits of having a children’s room:

• Parents can chat quietly over dinner while the child plays.
• Children get to know each other in the playroom and do not interfere with other guests.
• In the children’s room, developing classes and master classes can be held: the child will learn something new and the baby will have pleasant impressions.

A playroom in a restaurant in Moscow may look different: some establishments are limited to a corner with coloring pages, others organize a zone with cartoons, others set up labyrinths, and others set aside a bright room for children with lots of toys.

Some family restaurants have several play areas for children of different ages. For example, playpens are installed for toddlers, older children frolic in a dry pool, coloring books and films are provided for independent children. Typically, establishments with a wide range of entertainment position themselves as a children’s restaurant.

Another attraction is a petting zoo or animal corner. Often, in order to attract the attention of young visitors, an aquarium with unusual fish, a cage with bright parrots or cute fluffy rabbits is placed in the play area.

Things to watch out for

• Floor cleanliness: Children often sit or roll on the floor while playing.
• Is there air conditioning in the room: maybe you should ask someone from the staff to adjust the temperature to a comfortable level.
• How close are the seats to the screen if cartoons are shown.
• Is there an animator in the playroom or a nanny who looks after the children and entertains them.
• Is there a screen in the hall where you can watch in real time what is happening in the children’s area: if not, maybe you should choose a place next to the playroom so as not to worry.

Large family restaurants in Moscow always have a nanny and a staff of animators. A very common practice is when one teacher is on duty in the children’s room on weekdays, and on weekends a show program or performance is arranged for the little guests. Restaurants that value their guests and reputation are sure to hire people with specialized education. If you do not trust the nanny in the restaurant, it is better not to leave the child with her and inform the manager about this.
