Our Mission:
To inspire and enable all youth, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.
Why Great Futures Start Here:
For more than six decades, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston has been the region’s leading youth-development organization, achieving an enviable record of creatively engaging, educating and empowering a large number of low-income young people in ways that positively impact their lives and improve their chances of achieving and sustaining academic and economic success.
Long renowned as “The Positive Place for Kids,” the Clubs serve more than 10,000 children and teens ages 6 to 17 each year, many of whom have few other positive relationships or dependable resources in their lives.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston provides these youth a safe haven in the midst of chaotic, dangerous neighborhoods and family contexts and delivers high-quality programming that builds character; enhances academic performance; improves physical health and fitness; expands life skills; develops leadership potential; promotes civic engagement; and equips youth for pursuing rigorous postsecondary educational opportunities and productive careers.
A private, nonprofit organization, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston improves young lives as well as the communities that surround and support us. The organization relies on private, corporate, individual and United Way funding to fill the gap between membership dues ($5.00 per child per year) and operational expenses.

90,000 Boys separate from girls. Family education club staged an experiment | Education | SOCIETY
In the club, children receive advice on basic general subjects.
“Our task is to help parents who have chosen family education for their child to educate him,” says Alla Chernorotaya, director of the club . “We have teachers-consultants and all the conditions for this.”
Children are distributed by age into classes, and classes are held almost like in a regular school. This year we decided on separate education for first-graders. Five boys study separately from seven girls, the “Russian classical school” is taken as the basis for education. This is a program adapted to the present by the great teacher Konstantin Ushinsky.
They are different
The topic of separate education appears again and again in the minds of teachers. In some places such a system of education is being introduced, and general educational institutions operate according to a new principle, for example, in Moscow. You will say that metropolitan schools have always been open to experiments, and you will be mistaken. There are about 500 such schools in the Komi Republic, they also appear in the Stavropol Territory, in Blagoveshchensk, Irkutsk, and the Amur Region.

We were afraid, first of all, of the excessive emancipation of girls. A boy can easily slap her so hard that she can’t even stand on her feet, and to the suggestion that it’s impossible to do this, the little fighter will answer with bewilderment: “She started first!” Absolutely equaling himself with a physically weak peer.
Psychologists talk about the benefits of separate education, the main thing is that the child does not have fear of a negative assessment of the opposite sex. Girls don’t make fun of stupidity, and boys don’t sneer at the cute stupidities of their classmates.
Alexander Lemeshko |
“God has given everyone a purpose in life,” says Priest Alexander Lemeshko, founder and confessor of the club. – I am for separate education, I do not like the word “gender”, they squeezed this word into everyday life, not understanding its essence at all. The boy must become a youth, a man, a husband, a protector. A girl is a girl, a woman, a wife, a mother. Girls mature faster than boys. They are more diligent, and the boys are more mobile. We take this into account. Ideally, it would be nice if a man taught the guys. It is a colossal task to find such a teacher, especially for elementary grades. But we found it! We look forward to seeing him next year, hopefully we will. Especially since he is an experienced teacher.
The approach to learning should be different, and psychologists explain that goals are always important for boys, and the learning process is always important for girls. Even a first-grader will ask – why should I do this? His classmate will diligently complete assignments.
The idea of separate education is not new.
“Such a brisk excellent student always pulls her hand in class, but it is difficult for a boy to do this,” the director of the club agrees with his father Alexander. “Their brains are different.”
Alla Borisovna is a teacher with great experience. 38 years given to the school, 12 of them she was the director of the gymnasium, so she knows what she is talking about.
Well forgotten old
The idea of separate education is not new. Under the tsar, there were male and female gymnasiums, this was explained by the fact that different knowledge is needed for a productive stay in society. Girls were prepared for marriage and motherhood, boys were taught a much wider range of subjects and sciences. In 1918, universal equality was constitutionally enshrined, and the schools became mixed. In 1943, the goal was again returned to separate training. The image of a working mother and defender of the Fatherland was brought up in accordance with the era. It lasted until 1954 years old, then co-education returned to schools again and for many years became the main principle of school education. The first division of modern time is attributed to the 90s of the 20th century. True, now such educational institutions provide classes for boys and girls separately, but within the walls of one institution. Extra-curricular activities for them are held jointly. An example of separate education was the cadet classes of schools, but over time they also became mixed. In this case, they should not be confused with the cadet corps, Suvorov and Nakhimov schools. By the way, in Europe and the USA, elite education is always separate.
“There is no need for separate schools,” adds Alla Chernorotaya. – Opponents of separate teaching methods say that when learning together, children learn to understand representatives of the opposite sex, that people are brought up who will be ready for different situations in life, the more diverse the group of peers, the more options for solving problems. But no one isolates them! They communicate superbly during breaks, our children go together to events, exhibitions, excursions, take part in prayers, meals and singing together. The concept of the existence of our club of family education is based on the foundation of the education of Christian values.
Russian classical school
Now there is no separate methodology for teaching the school curriculum, taking into account gender differences. While everything is at the level of intuition. For example, boys need to give the subject more figuratively, show more than tell.

They teach at the Family Education Club under the Russian Classical School program based on the works of K.D. Ushinsky. The Soviet school took advantage of the developments of pre-revolutionary teaching methods, changing only the ideological content. Remember this phrase that the Soviet Union has the best education in the world? It was decided to take a closer look at this technique in Yekaterinburg. Tatyana Altushkina, a mother of many children, can be said to be the progenitor of a new, or rather, well-forgotten, school. The guys began to study according to Ushinsky’s textbooks, revised and adapted to the present by the philologist Irina Goryacheva, they began to study mathematics according to Kiselyov – all outstanding academicians studied from Andrei Petrovich’s books.
Teaching at the family education club under the Russian Classical School program.
“Children begin to write with a pencil and fountain pen, they write in calligraphic handwriting according to special copybooks,” adds Alla Chernorotaya. – I’ll explain why: when a child writes with a pen, he willy-nilly becomes more accurate – otherwise the pen will tear the paper. All this is necessary for good handwriting.
After the rest, the boys and girls disperse into classes. Photo: Family Education Club at the Church of the Hieromartyr Sylvester
The textbooks of the “Russian classical school” are different from others. They even have a different paper – not white, but yellowish, more beneficial for the eyes. Bright, colored covers of notebooks, pictures in the textbook, only distract. “The methodology is built on the principle of natural conformity,” explains Alla Borisovna. – Everything is logically built in it, one follows from the other. For example, language lessons. The child knows that on Monday they have calligraphy, on Tuesday – written work, dictations, on Wednesday they will study grammar, on Thursday – editing the text, and on Friday they will work out everything they have learned in a week. Difficulty builds up gradually.
By the way, the family education club is now one step away from becoming a real school. Six years ago, the idea of its creation was born, it must be added that Anton Ashikhmin, a well-known public figure, stood at the base of this. Unfortunately, he tragically died. The club was founded at the parish, the parishioners of the church of the Holy Martyr Sylvester of Omsk became its first participants. Now they are engaged here with children from four years old and up to the 6th grade of a comprehensive school. Separate education has been introduced since this academic year, so far modestly, they say that it is too early to draw conclusions, but progress is noticeable. For boys, the program of the general education school, where they pass the certification, turned out to be “easy”.
There are several boys and girls in grade 6 “A”. It is known that in 6 “A”:…

Hi I’m following you I’m following your tik toky I’m following your profile and your tick at
User
17,18,19 there may be boys, in the third option, in others I don’t know, sorry
User
A task where two girls have 14 boy friends, and one girl has 15.
There cannot be less than 15 boys because one of the girls is friends with 15 boys. There cannot be more than 16 boys, because if there were 17, then there would be three among them. with whom the first two girls are not friends, and this contradicts the condition.
So there can be 15 or 16 boys.
