Kindergarten: to love or not to love
Every weekday I persuade myself to go to kindergarten. I can hardly take my head off the pillow, rearranging the alarm clock a couple of times, I quickly get myself together and cook porridge. And then I wake up my girl, who sleeps so sweetly. But while my daughter is only 3 years old and she weighs 15 kg, I can take her in my arms, take her to the kitchen so that my dad does not wake up, and let her wake up gradually to the sounds of my favorite cartoon.
As soon as Marusya was born, I immediately got in line! It was the first turn in the life of my child – in kindergarten! I was very worried that I would be left without a place. What to do then? How to live? After all, you have to go and persuade, but I really don’t like it.
But maybe because we don’t live in a residential area, we had a place. And there were only 14 children in the group.
And so, having delayed the date of entering the garden to the maximum, we have arrived. It was October. I remember Mashin’s first day in kindergarten! She was looking forward to it and went there like a holiday! Certainly! After all, before we only looked at the playground of the kindergarten from behind the fence. I can imagine how interesting it was for her to go where they were not allowed before! It’s a miracle for a baby – fantasy becomes reality.
Masha really wanted to be an exemplary girl, so at breakfast she diligently choked on a casserole, which she doesn’t like. From the smell and dirty clothes, I guessed the fate of the casserole. For some reason, the teacher did not tell me about this episode. Masha wanted to remain a good girl and pretended that nothing had happened. I don’t know, maybe they said something to her in the garden, or she didn’t want to upset her mother. As a result, the baby sobbed the next two mornings: “Mamaaaa, I don’t want to go to kindergarten!” At the same time, she reluctantly left the garden.
I tried to find out why my sociable and cheerful girl, who is used to parting with her mother and knows that her mother always comes back anyway, throws tantrums in the morning? It turned out that she just didn’t want to have breakfast in the garden!
This is the solution! We have breakfast at home, and Masha runs into the garden with pleasure!
As a result, I realized that any lack of a garden can be compensated for at home. Any problem related to the child’s perception of this institution can be solved with the help of loving parents!
Kindergarten teacher has about 20 children. And she does not have time to look for an individual approach to everyone. Correctly setting up the child, explaining to the teacher the peculiarity of your baby and getting attention to him is the task of the parents. Educators who know how – a rarity! More often there are those who are sure that the parents who raise the child incorrectly are to blame for everything.
How can you help your child fall in love with kindergarten?
- First of all, try not to give your child away for the whole day at once. Start with a few hours.
- Try to get to bed early. Changing the regimen is bad for well-being and leads to a weakening of the immune system. I know from my daughter that it is very difficult to put her to bed earlier, but a shift of 10-15 minutes every day is quite a feasible task. Sometimes I succeed.
- Do not rush your child in the morning. It’s better to wake up 10 minutes early, but give the opportunity to get ready without stress. And do not wake up shouting “Company, rise!” For the baby, rituals are still important. Both for falling asleep and for getting up. Music will help someone, light will help someone, massage will help someone. You can take your favorite toy and wake the baby on her behalf. Mine wakes up in my arms, trying to see the cartoon with sleepy eyes. I loved waking up so much. If you don’t want to, open your eyes.
- You can give your child a favorite toy, promise to do something together in the evening. My Masha loves to dress up and show her outfits to the kids. Well, let! Yes, she can get her pretty dress dirty at dinner! But then the boys in the group tell their mothers that Masha again had a new skirt! Once, when we didn’t go to the garden because of a cold, she was so upset when she saw the pre-prepared dress! “Aaah! I won’t show the dress baby!” I had to be allowed to walk in this dress at home.
- And most importantly, tell your child more often that you love him! Praise him for what he did! Do you know that the child understands what cannot be done, and what is good – he does not know? What do you say more often: “It’s impossible!” or “What a good fellow you are!”? The child tries to get your attention with whims and pranks. And if he notices that you respond with praise to his actions, then he will want to do it again and again!
And in conclusion, I highly recommend reading Noel Janice-Norton’s book “Stop punishing, yelling, begging, or How to deal with children’s whims without scandals and hassles. ” The book is about how to turn your baby from a brawler into an obedient and attentive.
When I decided to try to praise my daughter for obeying the first time, getting dressed quickly, putting away toys herself, after 30 minutes of endless praise she said: “Mom, you are so good! I love you so much!”
Love your children, make them happy and they will do the same to you!
