How to Find a Tax ID Number for a Licensed Day Care Provider | Work

By Tina Amo Updated July 01, 2018

All businesses, including day care providers, must obtain a tax-identification number from the Internal Revenue Service. This number, which is referred to as an Employer Identification Number (EIN), must be on every tax document that the day care provider submits for the business. The IRS requires that number to be on your tax documents if you have worked for the business, received services from the business, or provided them with a charitable donation. You can use several methods to find out your day care provider’s tax-identification number.

Day Care Provider

Contact the childcare provider and ask for the company’s tax-identification number. You may need to speak with the owner or the proprietor if the employees do not have this information readily available. If the day care provider is a small business or is providing services as an independent contractor, you can send them IRS form W-9 to request their tax-identification number. The owner must provide this information, as well as the name and address of the business. You can use the information to prepare a 1099 form for your specific situation.

Securities Exchange Commission

Public companies submit financial documents to the Securities Exchange Commission at regular intervals so investors can evaluate them for investment decisions. If the day care provider is operating a center as part of a publicly traded company, the company’s SEC filings will contain the tax-identification number. You can search the SEC’s EDGAR database online with the name of the business.

GuideStar Nonprofit Directory

If the day care is a nonprofit company, you can find its tax-identification number through GuideStar.org. GuideStar encourages nonprofit companies to share information about themselves and their operations. This information includes the company’s tax-identification number. In addition to GuideStar, you can find information for nonprofit companies on websites such as MelissaData.com and Feinsearch.com.

Form W-2

By law, businesses must provide a tax-identification number on tax-related documents. If you are employed at the day care center, you can find the business’ EIN on your W-2 form.

Social Security Number

If you are providing goods or services to a small day care service, it is possible the owner operates without an EIN. The IRS does not require a business operating as a sole-proprietorship or one member limited liability company to use an EIN if there are no employees and certain other conditions or met. Instead, the Social Security Number can be used as a taxpayer identification number in place of the EIN. To avoid confusion when dealing with small businesses, ask for a TIN.

Return to childhood

As children, we began to nibble on apples from the minute they were set after flowering. The same thing happened with gooseberries. Uninitiated summer residents were tested with the question “Do you want to see Moscow?” – and offered gooseberries. From such a sour taste, you could see anything. In every garden there were certainly cherries – this, in itself, is delicious, and jam, and compotes, and dried berries. We also loved to peel and chew the resin that stood out on cherry trees. Peonies bloomed in every yard in the month of May, and their smell made one dizzy.
It seems to me that if at that time they told me that the berries need to be washed, I would be genuinely surprised. It was useless! We plucked everything we wanted from the trees, at any stage of ripeness, ate, and no one ever got sick. This, of course, was a long time ago.
But last week we visited Kibbutz Ein Zivan, where, it turns out, you can completely plunge into the world of childhood again.

The order of the Ministry of Agriculture forbids kibbutzniks to spray trees, the soil is also regularly checked and if they find even the slightest hint of any chemistry in it, it can end very badly, up to closure. Therefore, here, too, you can not remember the requirement to wash the berries, but tear them from the tree and eat them right there, which is immeasurably tastier.

The Golan Heights have the most suitable climate for fruit ripening. Berry picking usually lasts from May to October, because each fruit has its own ripening time. Eighty percent of the harvest of cherries and cherries is harvested in the Golan, and the rest of the plantations are in the Upper Galilee and the Judean mountains. Kibbutz Ein Zivan was one of the first to venture into a tourist destination. More than fifty thousand tourists visit this kibbutz every year, taking with them not only sweet and healthy fruits, but also warm memories.

Here you can have breakfast at tables set among fruit trees.

Cherry picking lasts only three weeks! Every year, Alex Kodish, the fruit plantation manager of Kibbutz Ein Zivan, celebrates the cherry season as if it were the first time: “This year the winter was quite cold, and there was little rain, thanks to such weather conditions, our cherries and sweet cherries taste absolutely wonderful.”

Tractoron will take you to the places where the sweetest cherries grow.

There are places in the shade where you can relax after active berry picking.

You can enjoy wonderful views.

The De Karina Chocolate Factory in Ein Zivan offers an incredibly delicious chocolate adventure. In the guest center, a whole world of chocolate will open up before you. At the factory, you will see how chocolate is made, and, in addition, you can try to make something beautiful yourself (within your imagination).
It is possible to make your own liquor from seasonal fruits, bake fruit pie, purchase delicious homemade jam, take a trip on a tractor-trailer to the Syrian border and admire the breathtaking panorama, try your hand at the sports ground, in other words, find yourself entertainment on taste.

Nearby – literally door to door – is the Bahat winery, which produces quality red wines and liqueurs. The winery is the life’s work of Ofer Bahat, a fruit canning and freezing specialist who dreamed of one day treating his friends to his own wine. Ofer received a special education and opened a winery in Ein Zivan. Kosher Bahat wines are made according to the traditional method and aged in real oak barrels for 12-18 months. Then they “age” for another year in bottles before finding their buyer. Today the winery produces about 10,000 bottles a year. Bahat winery products can only be purchased at the company store in Ein Zivan.

By the way, when choosing the time for a trip to Kibbutz Ein Zivan, you need to know exactly when your favorite berries and fruits ripen. So, cherries and cherries – late May-mid and late June, raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, white nectarine – late June-mid-July, white mulberry – late May-mid-July, green and red pears – late July-mid-August, nectarine – mid-July-mid-August, orange nectarine – late July-mid-September, peaches – late July-late September, Asian pear – late July-late September, plum – August-late September, different varieties of apples (“Gala”, “Granny Smith”, “Hermon” and “Pink Lady”) – from mid-August to the end of September, grapes – end of August-September.
Beresheet HaGolan Fruit Garden is open daily, from 09:00 to 17:00, from late May to August, including autumn holidays. Entrance fee: child – 27 shekels, adult – 33 shekels (the price includes self-collection of fruit without restriction).

No energy to return home after such an active holiday – still the road is not close, two and a half hours from Tel Aviv – you can stay in the kibbutz. Ein Zivan has several options. “Khan 4×4” – rooms for young people and families, which can accommodate from 8 to 12 people, with shower, toilet and a small but fully equipped kitchen where you can cook your own meals. A large parking lot for vehicles, specially equipped picnic areas, including barbecue facilities. Lan be Golan. For more demanding travelers, there are “zimmers” – rooms in houses with a comfortable bed, air conditioning, TV and a private bathroom. And finally, for those who seek to spend their holidays with maximum comfort, Kibbutz Ein Zivan provides wooden two-story suites.

A few minutes from the kibbutz there is an observation deck overlooking Quneitra, an abandoned Syrian city that was destroyed after the war. Since 1974, El Quneitra has been located in a neutral demilitarized zone between the Israeli and Syrian borders, controlled by UN forces. The city remains virtually uninhabited to this day. Near the border crossing, which is perfectly visible from the site, the Syrian flag is flying, on the left is the lake. To Damascus – nothing at all – sixty kilometers. Once this transition was considered one of the most peaceful: the apples grown by the Druze were exported to Syria, the Druze youth – to study at Syrian universities. The film “Syrian Bride” was filmed here, which won prizes at international festivals.

An interesting tourist attraction of Kibbutz Ein Zivan – Volcano Park. It is intended primarily for children. In the old quarry, located under the observation platform, “volcano” cones were built, equipped with radio guides describing in detail the entire process of the volcanic eruption. In the evening, the “volcanoes” come to life thanks to the grand illumination.

A bit of history. Kibbutz Ein Zivan, founded in 1968, is located at the foot of Mount Avital, in the northern part of the Golan Heights. The kibbutz got its name from the Circassian village, whose inhabitants after 1967 years moved to Syria. The word “zivan” is also called a variety of wheat. The first settlers – residents of other kibbutzim and volunteers from abroad – settled in houses abandoned by the Circassians on January 23, 1968. The arrangement was accompanied by a variety of difficulties: in the summer the only well dried up, and water had to be delivered in a fire truck. Until the Mekorot company extended the water supply from Brihat Ram Lake. Ein Zivan received permanent kibbutz status from the Association of the Kibbutz Movement only three years later. To get to Kibbutz Ein Zivan, you need to drive to the Mahanaim Junction, turn east and drive about 30 more kilometers along Highway 91. Map http://www.enzivan.co.il/?page_id=43

Childhood Road – ISRAELI CULTURE

Anatoly Liberman. Father and son, or the world without borders. St. Petersburg: Humanitarian Academy, 2021.

The theme of fathers and children is one of the most popular in Russian literature. Childhood is a source to which you can fall endlessly, remembering yourself and the most beautiful, albeit difficult, time of life. Who has not read the stories of Nikita, Theme, Petya and Pavlik, Sasha Yanovskaya? Who did not admire Chukovsky’s “From Two to Five” and did not think about the memories of the Nikitin family?

Anatoly Lieberman, a former Leningrader and now a professor at the University of Minneapolis, also took up this material. His work is an interesting chronography of a bygone era, the fate of successful emigrants who have no reason to blaspheme their new homeland. In the United States, the author and his wife were provided with a prestigious job, built a future, moved their families, traveled a lot. And they raised their only son, Zhenya, to whom the book is dedicated.

Together with the author, the reader goes through a difficult path of raising a difficult boy. The only son and grandson in a Jewish family grows up in an atmosphere of universal adoration, he is provided with everything he needs and even in excess. The most expensive toys, the best books, records, tutors, cottages, forests, fishing – anything. In addition to food, attentive parents are alarmed by the irrepressible appetite of the child and fear that he will grow up fat. Therefore, the boy Zhenya is strictly limited in food, and he makes every possible effort to beg, beg, get by deceit or even steal something delicious.

In this regard, the book is the most revealing – readers see outdated methods of education in all their glory. And they can understand what made their parents the way they are – attempts at ultra-early development, constant competition for grades and successes, deception of a child as the norm of life, the threat of physical punishment – fortunately, children were not beaten in the Lieberman family. It is good that such pedagogical methods are in the past. And they didn’t spoil the baby.

Perhaps the most important conclusion that parents of difficult kids can make for themselves is that everything will often work itself out. On the one hand, tons of knowledge were invested in the boy Zhenya – they taught music, three foreign languages, constantly read with him, filled his head with world culture. And it was practically useless. On the other hand, the boy was selfish and cowardly, scolded, lied, stole, threw mad tantrums, studied rather averagely. And that didn’t stop him. From an unpleasant troubled boy, a successful lawyer with a good career turned out. I hope this turn of the biography will comfort both dads and moms.

However, Anatoly had another effective pedagogical tool. He and his wife loved their son endlessly. And, judging by his success, they still managed to put the child on the basis of unconditional love and acceptance. So not everything in the Soviet education system was bad.
