Description: Childtime’s educational philosophy is based on the Reggio Emilia approach, named after the Italian city and the surrounding villages where the method took root after World War II. Central to this philosophy is the belief that secure relationships with responsive and respectful adults provide the basis for all learning. With these relationships in place, children develop a capacity for trust, competence and independence that helps them grow as students and people.

LATE FALL VISIT 9000 oct. 2021
Because we were there in October a lot of the roses were done for the year, but some were still in bloom. We appreciated that they were labeled and that the park is free. This is a short walk to the lower falls. nine0003

Neglecting Rochester Tourism
Aug. 2021
Neglected, weed-filled, badly maintained plants. Probably volunteers responsible for upkeep are overwhelmed. Straggly plants, no pruning. . .but ID signs still in place. City of Rochester seems unable to keep “touristy” areas like this attractive. Also area seems to be a hangout for homeless people who are camping out until shelters open up. nine0003

Farmington, Conn. We went in mid-June, so that helped, of course. No charge, there is parking. We took a lot of pictures. You can walk down to the lower falls directly across from the gardens, though we honestly were not impressed with those. nine0003

wonderful for sight and smell
June 2021
A beautiful spectacle of color and fragrance. Quite large and many varieties and all are large and bushy. Very well maintained and roses are thriving – I think there is an irrigation system. Plenty of benches, some shade, and an upper level walkway with stairs for perfect picture taking. Cross Park Ave next to the YMCA to see the Genesee river falls. Can’t wait for the second bloom in a few months. nine0003

June 2017 • Family fun
The variety of roses at this park is truly unbelievable. There is plenty of parking and even a gazebo for you to sit and enjoy the sweet aromas that surround you! Well worth the trip if you’re a gardening aficionado. I certainly wish I could grow roses this well. The park is well maintained. In the fall, there is a historic home tour in the area that’s worth catching. nine0003

Aug. 2017 • Family vacation
My family visited Maplewood a few times this summer. The flowers and trees are well-tended, and there are benches if you tire while strolling around the grounds. A pretty gazebo gave us a bit of shade. Our favorite time was when the roses were in bloom. nine0003

Si te subes al tren que sea solo para irte de zoológico, porque no da paseos internos. Las jirafas, elefantes y pingüinos para mi fueron la mejor atracción

Family trip with the babies
June 2022 • Family trip
Our family went to the zoo on a Thursday, at 12 in the afternoon.
The zoo was still buzzing with parents and their young children as well it was not overly crowded at all. nine0494 Checkin is quick, we purchased tickets online and went with our 3 1/2 year old and new born.
The seals are a must and the Giraffes, we met some of the caretakers of the giraffes and they told us interesting facts!!
Baby OMI short for Omstead who is only 7weeks old, the Dad Parker was separated he plays a little to rough right now with the baby.
Food court has been renovated:
We purchases a grilled chicken salad and a cheeseburger 2 drinks and a bag of chips. nine0494 Under $40
Burger are $16 alone
Food was very good and we had no complaints.
We also later got ice cream from one of the stands for everyone.
It was a nice experience better than our usually visit, speaking with the attendees.

Go somewhere else
May 2022
You are better off driving to Buffalo or Syracuse to visit there Zoos. We have been members for the last five years, and every time I go, I dislike even more. The Zoo is very long and narrow. They took out an old building 4 years ago that was at the entrance, which housed primates, tortoises, reptiles, birds. They replaced it with a log park, and they have just now started planning for it’s replacement. The only thing that they have built is more places to eat, which is not the reason I take my kids to the zoo. You need to walk a half mile before you see an animal, and they probably won’t be out. You never see most of the animals. They have placed an emphasis on amenities, and not animals. By the time they have the new animal buildings up, they will have lost a generation of children. nine0003

Very enjoyable zoo
Oct. 2021
For the size of the zoo we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of animals out and visible. Many many of the animals could be viewed up close. The layout of the zoo is linear so the tram is a good option rather than having to backtrack through the whole park. There is plenty of shade. nine0003

Small but worth the visit
Aug. 2021
This is a small zoo that doesn’t take long to get through. There are not a ton of animals so it doesn’t take long to get through. You pretty much just go in a straight line to see everything and then you can take a tram back to the entrance gate if you do not feel like walking all the way back and seeing each animal again.
