We send children to the camp. Tips for parents

    1. We all live according to the same daily routine. We get up at 8.00 and go to bed at 22.30. Participation in detachment and general camp affairs, circles, master classes, adherence to a diet, and going to the beach is equally mandatory for all children without exception.
    2. The territory of modern camps is quite large. Therefore, for safety reasons, children can move around the territory of the Center only accompanied by a counselor.
    3. Children’s camp – the territory of sports and clean air. Children are strictly prohibited from drinking alcohol and smoking. Camp teachers always sincerely rely on honesty, openness and the desire to pass this law, but do not forget to control it.
    4. Over the years, each camp has developed its own culture of communication based on the principles of kindness, trust, respect, cooperation and co-creation. It is not customary to offend, insult and humiliate the dignity of a person.
    5. Self-service work is accepted in the camps: cleaning the bed, sleeping quarters (according to the duty schedule), camp territory, taking care of one’s clothes. The guys carry out duty in the camp and the dining room in joint activities with teachers and peers.

Activities of the child that are prohibited in in the dining room), personal hygiene, daily routine; respect for peers and camp workers.

Adults in children’s camps categorically prohibit the actions and decisions of the child that threaten his life and health, the life and health of others, harming nature: smoking, using drugs and alcoholic beverages, bathing on his own, leaving the territory of the center unaccompanied by adults, spoiling or encroachment on the property and dignity of the people and the center.

In case of violation of these rules, any camp has the right to inform the parents and the educational institution about the violations committed by the child, expel the child from the children’s camp and send him home at the expense of the parents; recover from the parents in a legal manner the amount of damage caused to the children’s camp.

    Adaptation of the child:
A child, like any adult, goes through a stage of adaptation when he enters a new team. In a short time, he must take his place in the detachment, find friends and like-minded people, determine what he likes and overcome communication barriers. Counselors, teachers and specialists of social and psychological services help the children with this. They involve children in active collective activities aimed at team building and interaction. Most often, the adaptation period lasts 3-7 days.

We ask you to try to keep your communication with your child in the first days of your stay at the camp to a minimum, let him make friends with new guys on his own. Try these days to respond less to the complaints of the child. Do not call often, do not control the child, let the adaptation process develop naturally.

If you find it difficult to calm the alarm, call:

    • the duty teacher of the children’s camp (to clarify information about the children’s camp and the number of the unit in which your child is resting),
    • to the head of the children’s camp (for questions about the child’s stay and well-being) or send a letter to the camp’s email address.

What should you do if your child frequently calls you on the phone in the early days complaining of boredom? Of course, talk to him – it is important for him to hear your voice and feel that you are in touch. Ask if he found friends in the detachment, what he does, what he learned new, interesting, what events did he attend? If you feel that your son or daughter cannot cope with anxiety on their own, call the head of the children’s camp where the child is resting. Your call will help professionals take the necessary steps to integrate your child into a peer group. If you feel that your son or daughter cannot cope with anxiety on their own, call the head of the children’s camp where the child is resting. Your call will help professionals take the necessary steps to integrate your child into a peer group.

    Visiting a child
We ourselves are parents and we understand that mothers and fathers are bored and tend to visit their children more often. But when you take a child away from the detachment for a long time, especially during the period of adaptation, he misses important and emotionally intense activities and activities aimed at uniting the detachment. While he is absent, the rest of the guys from his squad became even more friends, and he fell out of the event field. Such situations complicate the process of further adaptation of your child in the detachment, contribute to the emergence of conflicts and confrontations with peers.

Taking into account the daily routine of children’s camps, camps usually invite parents to visit their children on weekends (Saturday, Sunday) from 10.00 to 18.00. Contact your child in advance and find out the daily routine of his squad on the day of arrival, because it may coincide with the field trip. Keep in mind that only parents can pick up a child from the children’s camp with the provision of documents confirming identity and kinship (passport). Other relatives must have a notarized power of attorney.

On the day of your arrival, be sure to talk to the counselor, find out how your child behaves in the children’s camp, inform about your desire to take the child for communication, fill out a special application. Try not to overfeed your child during the visit, unfortunately, such cases happen and children do not feel well after the departure of their parents.

    Showering:
Showering at the camp takes place twice a day on schedule after each return from the beach. Also, in the daily routine of each children’s camp, time is allocated for personal hygiene (13. 30 -14.00, 22.00 – 22.30).

    Personal hygiene of older children:
Counselors of younger units monitor the hygiene of babies, and older children do it on their own. The degree of accuracy in adolescents is different, but we assume that the skills of maintaining the cleanliness of one’s own body, changing underwear at this age should be formed. We hope for the independence of adolescents of the senior detachments in self-service and solving personal hygiene issues. The counselor will definitely remind, but cannot put pressure on the teenager of the senior detachment to go for a swim, change socks, cut his nails. Therefore, we ask parents to cooperate with us and remind their children to take care of their own cleanliness.

    Laundry:
Children wash their own clothes. To do this, there are rooms for washing and drying linen on the territory of the camp. Children do laundry in their free time.

    Room cleaning:
Cleaning of the children’s camp premises is carried out daily by office cleaners. Observance of cleanliness and order, cleaning in the sleeping quarters is carried out by its residents independently according to the duty schedule. This procedure not only disciplines the guys, but also teaches them to keep order in their room.

    Meals:
Five meals a day in the camps: breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, second dinner. The menu is formed in accordance with the requirements and norms of SanPiN 2.4.4.1204-03 – the main regulatory document of the children’s health camp. Nutrition in the children’s camp corresponds to the dietary table of the children’s institution, it implies the absence of spicy, salty, fried foods, pork, thermally unprocessed dairy and sour-milk products in the diet. The stomach quickly adapts to such food and sometimes reacts aggressively to rough food in the form of sausages, semi-finished products, chips, etc., which parents unknowingly bring in the form of gifts when visiting a child.

Such food seems unusual for children at first. Various cereals for breakfast and first courses for lunch – especially unusual and unloved by children, since the modern diet of both children and adults is far from ideal – often excludes these dishes from the daily menu and replaces them with sandwiches and fast food. It takes time for the child to get used to such diet food. An unusual or undesirable dish in the dining room does not always mean tasteless. Now very experienced cooks work in the camps, especially in baby food, who know how to cook deliciously, and the reviews of most of the guys confirm this.

    Swimming in the sea:
The safety of bathing children is now usually ensured by a whole group of specialists. Counselors, lifeguards, specialists from the emergency rescue team of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and medical workers are constantly working on the beach. A car equipped with modern technology is constantly on duty near the beach area, designed to assist the victims. Every year, all camp staff take a course in first aid. In the camps, they strive to maximize the use of the health-improving potential of sea bathing. But there are rules that guys do not always accept. During swimming, you can not dive, leave the bathing sector, swim on your own outside the children’s beach. Parents should also tell their children about this before going to camp. Parents often contact us by phone with a request to allow their child to skip sea bathing due to lack of desire. Is it possible?

Bathing is a strictly regulated procedure that requires compliance with strict rules of behavior on the water from both children and camp staff: medical workers, counselors, rescuers. Bathing the squad requires the presence of both counselors on the beach. One leader is in the water with the children, the other is watching the swimmers from the shore. Therefore, the camp cannot allow one of the leaders to stay with the children who did not want to go to the sea, since on the beach one leader cannot ensure the safety of the children.

According to the rules of staying at the children’s summer camp, swimming in the sea must be done at least twice a day. Parents turn to our center by phone asking why we didn’t take our children to swim in the sea one day or another? DOL is not protected from the waves of the sea and bad weather. In the camps, they try to bathe children in the sea every day, while strictly observing the temperature regime. At a water temperature of 18 degrees, dipping is allowed for children, at 21 degrees – swimming. Usually the guys bathe 2 times a day, but in very hot weather 3 times, additional bathing is carried out from 19.30 to 20.00. With a slight wave of the sea, the guys sunbathe on the beach and take a dip. In case of strong excitement, bathing of children is not carried out.

    Conflicts
    Children’s quarrels in the detachment:
The dynamics of detachment cohesion suggests the passage of a period of confrontations and conflicts between children. This is a natural and inevitable step. Even adults get into conflict with each other, but forget about it when they find out that their child is fighting with someone.
We want to prevent your worries and assure that educators pay special attention to assessing the relationship of the children, the emotional and psychological climate in the detachment, the prevention, prevention and resolution of conflicts between the children. This issue is now approached very seriously, deeply delving into each situation.

How do learn about conflicts between children?
Every day during the day, educators monitor the physical and emotional well-being of children. In the children’s camp there is always a psychologist who helps teenagers to solve various disturbing situations. Every evening, when the children fall asleep, everyone – educators, leaders, psychologists – gather to sort out difficult situations and difficulties that arise in each detachment, discuss life in the camp, plan activities.

    Conflict resolution:
When educators receive information about a conflict, they try to make a picture of the conflict: they reconstruct the events and preconditions of the conflict, collect information from the participants in the conflict. In no case are they guided by the complaints of one side. Therefore, conflict resolution is a process that involves the “offended”, the “offender” and their “support groups”, and sometimes the entire detachment. Specialists solve the problem with individual conversations, team trainings, the schedule of team events is changing to help the guys meet each other.

Peculiarities of children’s behavior in conflict:
Both sides are always to blame in adolescent conflict. Teenagers are at an age when they do not like to admit their mistakes to their peers, to their parents, especially at the moment of resentment or anger. Therefore, when children tell you about their offense, they often omit the facts of their own guilt – so you form your attitude based on incomplete one-sided information.

It is difficult for children to analyze the situation, they do not understand at what point they made mistakes that led to resentment and aggression from their peers. Remember that each child comes to camp with a different set of social skills that have developed by their age, in accordance with their level of social activity, their upbringing and the behavioral example of their parents. The child may not have the behavioral skill to deal with a difficult situation at the time of the conflict, and we delicately seek to help form natural ways for ourselves to deal with difficult situations.

Is it possible to resolve the conflict by taking the child away from the detachment or camp?

Sometimes parents take a child away because of a conflict situation. This is not always correct. A child who left the detachment masters a stereotype of behavior in which all his difficult life situations must be resolved by his parents. Ultimately, a lack of confidence in oneself and one’s strengths, an idea of one’s own weakness in front of a hostile peer is formed. In the future, this develops into life infantilism, avoiding the problems encountered. Early departure from the camp may also manifest itself next year – the fear of going to a children’s camp.

What should you do if your child calls you to complain about bullying?
If your child calls you to complain about being treated badly by peers, don’t overreact. Support him, assure him that he is not alone, that there are people who will help him solve the problem and call the head of the children’s camp.

What if an expensive item is missing from a child?
Loss of an item is not always theft. Most often, children lose clothes, phones, players or other things through inattention. Experiencing confusion, not knowing how to explain the loss to parents, the child finds the easiest way in this situation – he dumps responsibility on his comrades in the detachment. Most often, things are found later. After all, on the fact of each loss in the camp, an investigation is carried out with the involvement of specialists from the internal security service and law enforcement officers. Therefore, when preparing for a trip, try to convince your child not to take expensive things, the loss of which can upset him and loved ones.

    Dear moms and dads!
When choosing a type of vacation for your child, keep in mind that the stay of children on vacation in the camps of the Black Sea coast is based on compliance with the rules established for all, the general regime and the requirements of collective security. In organized children’s recreation, it is difficult to separate collective wishes from individual ones. The basic rule is to live by the rules of the community. This is the difference between organized children’s recreation and the sanatorium-resort. But it is life in the community of the children’s camp that allows children to experience the most unforgettable emotions, to receive love, recognition and attention from their peers, to feel one with their squad.
