Welcome to La Petite Academy in Sterling, VA! My name is Diane, the director. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in child psychology with a minor in sociology and over 33 years of experience in early childhood education. I have been at this La Petite Academy for over 30 years. Drawing from my background, I can truly say we offer the best Infant daycare and private Preschool in Loudoun County.
Our curriculum provides exciting hands-on activities with individualized lesson plans that inspire creativity and a love of learning. There is a lot of longevity within our staff; some of our teachers even attended our school as children. Combined, our team has over 90 years of experience! Ongoing staff training is conducted, and our teachers are CPR and First Aid certified. They have also completed Virginia State Trainings, three of our lead teachers are also CDA certified. We have also achieved Level 1 in the Virginia Quality Program!
Our school offers the following enrichment programs: phonics, yoga, Spanish, and Kindermusik. We offer full-time, part-time, and flex care program options for all ages.

Sterling Silver Care Tips: How do you clean your silver jewelry?

In 1851, Tiffany became the first American company to introduce the 925 sterling silver standard now used throughout the world. Tiffany only uses sterling silver, one of the most beautiful and brilliant metals. Sterling silver is a precious metal that requires periodic cleaning.
With proper care, your silver product will remain just as beautiful, will not lose its properties, and it can be inherited.
First rule of silver care
Sterling silver tarnishes, especially when exposed to salty air and sulfur-containing products such as rubber products and some types of paper. However, with regular use, silver usually does not require much maintenance, and Tiffany recommends that you wear your silver pieces daily.

Apply a small amount of Tiffany Silver Cleaner to a soft cloth and gently wipe the silver several times. Then rinse the silver in warm water and dry thoroughly. This will remove the tarnish, making your sterling silver jewelry look great. Please note that chlorine and bleach accelerate tarnishing and should be avoided.
After cleaning and polishing, silver must be properly stored dry. Our Tiffany Blue® flannel pouches will protect it from abrasion and provide some degree of tarnish protection.
Special recommendations
Oxidation is the blackening of the grooves in the design of a silver product to more clearly draw decorative details. Be careful as the coating can be removed with excessive force when cleaning and polishing.

We recommend using silverware frequently. Frequently used silverware requires minimal care and attention and develops an attractive patina better. Most silverware, with the exception of knives, can be washed in the dishwasher. But it should be removed before drying. It is best to wash cutlery by hand in hot, soapy water immediately after use. Rinse them well in clean hot water and dry them by hand immediately and thoroughly. Tarnished silverware should be cleaned with a quality silver polish, avoiding dip polishing.

The silver must be absolutely dry. If silver is used regularly, avoid excessive exposure to air and store it in a tarnish resistant cloth.

Good boxes are lined with anti-tarnish fabric on the inside and have compartments for each decoration. In humid climates, use in storage areas, be it a closed box or flannel bundle, desiccant sachets. Avoid contact with elastic bands or other rubber products as sulfur will tarnish and corrode.

The Moscow Exchange will suspend trading in the British pound sterling on the foreign exchange market from October 3, 2022.
The decision was dictated by the potential risks and difficulties in making payments in this currency, says in a press release from the trading platform.
“From October 3, 2022, trading in the British pound on the Moscow Exchange’s foreign exchange market is suspended. The suspension of operations is due to potential risks and difficulties in making settlements in the British pound,” the Moscow Exchange said in a statement.
Restrictions will apply to spot and swap instruments not only for the British pound – Russian ruble (GBPRUB) currency pair, but also for the British pound – US dollar (GBPUSD). The suspension of trading will cease in both exchange and over-the-counter modes.
At the same time, the fulfillment of obligations under previously concluded transactions, as well as under agreements that will be concluded until September 30, 2022 inclusive, will take place as usual. The Moscow Exchange also clarified that it continues to interact with correspondent banks about the resumption of operations with the British pound in the foreseeable future.
The exact date of the restoration of trading will be announced later.
As a result of trading on September 20, the ruble index of the Moscow Exchange fell by 8.84%, to 2215.67 points. The dollar RTS collapsed by 9.31%, to 1154.17 points. The collapse of stocks was the strongest since February 24, 2022, when the market fell immediately by 33.3%.
