CHILD CARE CAPACITY BUILDING CONSULTANTS/COACHES

With funding from the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Child Care Aware of Minnesota is creating a one-stop regional assistance network to help current and aspiring child care providers establish licensed family child care programs or child care centers.

To help build this regional network, Child Care Aware agencies across the state are hiring staff. In addition to recruitment, network staff will provide new child care providers with technical assistance to start or expand a child care program and connect them to helpful resources.

Child Care Capacity Building Consultants/Coaches will contribute to local and statewide efforts to improve access to child care for families by increasing the supply of high-quality, licensed child care programs. Step one: make up your mind!

Depending on your higher education, profession, qualifications and work experience, the path to the Swedish labor market can be more or less difficult. However, Swedish employers are constantly looking for new specialists, and in 2008 the legislation in the field of labor migration for citizens of countries outside the EU was significantly simplified. In 2014 alone, more than 12,000 people from these countries came to work in Sweden. Among the most common categories of migrant workers are IT specialists, engineers, employees of the restaurant and service sectors, and medical personnel. Step five: plan your move

Once you’ve got your job and your permit, it’s time to plan your move to Sweden. One of the first points is the search for housing and a school or kindergarten if you have children. Finding accommodation, for example, in Stockholm is very difficult, so you should think about it in advance.

Once you know where you and your family will live in Sweden, you can apply to the nearest schools. Education for children aged six to university level in Sweden is free. Students who are not citizens of the EU/EEA/any Scandinavian country or Switzerland are tuition surcharge.

Step six: the move itself

In addition to the things you need for the first time, it is important to have the following documents with you:

  • Valid passport and identity card (with visa) )
  • Marriage or registered partnership certificate for accompanying partner
  • Birth certificate for each accompanying child.

During the first days in Sweden, you need to register with the Swedish Tax Office ( Skatteverket ) and the Swedish Social Security Administration ( Försäkringskassan ) and open a bank account.

  • Tax office issues identification numbers ( personnummer ) and identity cards.
  • To receive a salary from your employer, you must have an account in Swedish bank .
  • You must be registered at Social Security Administration to receive compensation when you are on sick leave or parental leave.

Swedish workplace culture tends to be non-hierarchical and rather informal. This applies to both clothing and forms of address: employees call each other and their bosses by their names and by you. However, like everywhere else.

A unique feature of the typical Swedish office is the coffee break (fika). This gives employees and their bosses the opportunity to meet and mingle in an informal atmosphere.
