and that means KinderCare kids are getting the very best. Here’s why.

Infant Programs (6 weeks–1 year)

Leaving your baby in someone else’s care is a big step. Everyone at our
centers—most importantly, our naturally gifted infant teachers—will work with
you to make sure the transition goes smoothly. When you step into our infant
classroom, you’ll see how much we want your infant to feel safe, loved, and

Toddler Programs (1–2 Years)

Everything in our toddler classroom is designed for little explorers. That’s
because a lot is going on at this age. When your child is wandering all over the
place, that means they’re learning and discovering new things every day. We’ll
help them explore their interests (and find new ones!) as they play and learn.

Discovery Preschool Programs (2–3 Years)

This age is filled with so much wonder and curiosity. That’s why we offer a ton
of books and toys and bring artwork down to kids eye level. Children in
discovery preschool also begin to learn how we all work together in a
classroom. Simple math and science, pretend play, and group play help them
get used to a more structured school setting.

Before- and After-School Programs (5–12 Years)

You can count on us to provide reliable care for your school-ager while you’re
at work, with safe transportation from our center to your child’s school and
back! Whether your child wants to start a drama club, build a volcano, or
create a comic book, they will have a place to follow their dreams. Your child
will start and end the day with a whole lot of fun!

School Break Programs (preschool, prekindergarten, and school-age)

Winter break, spring break, summer break—when school’s out (but you still need to work), you
can count on KinderCare to provide a safe and supportive learning environment that’s focused
on fun. We welcome children ages 5–12 during school break times and make sure they have a
sensational, screen-free experience they won’t forget.

Greensboro peach is a dessert variety known for more than a hundred years. Its tender, large fruits are among the first to ripen in the southern regions with a hot climate, but they can also ripen much further north. Peaches have long ceased to be exotic in the gardens of the middle lane. Proper care allows Greensboro to endure cold winters and stably bear fruit both on the Black Sea coast and in the Moscow region.

Breeding History

The Greensboro Peach was obtained in the late 19th century by free pollination from a seedling of the Connet variety. The birthplace of an early and frost-resistant fruit is the USA. In 1947, the variety was zoned in the North Caucasus, peach showed itself well in the Crimea, and widely spread in Central Asia and the Black Sea region.

Description of Greensboro peach cultivar

The Greensboro peach tree without enhanced shaping grows tall with a spreading crown. Annual growth is average. Shoots with short internodes, smooth, in the light acquire a dark crimson hue.

Peach leaves of medium length (up to 15 cm), folded in the form of a boat in the center, with tips bent down. The upper side of the plate is dark green, the lower side is light gray. Petiole up to 1 cm. The edges have rounded teeth.

Fruit buds large, ovoid, arranged in groups. The variety blooms profusely and amicably. The inflorescences of the Greensboro variety are pink. Petals are large, bright pink, rounded.

Description of Greensboro peach fruit:

  • large: over 55 mm in diameter;
  • oval with flattened, depressed top;
  • average fruit weight ranges from 100 to 120 g;
  • fibrous, juicy, creamy flesh with a green tint;
  • the surface of the fruit is rigidly pubescent, rough;
  • green skin with slight burgundy blush;
  • stone small, difficult to separate, prone to cracking.

With a medium sugar content, Greensboro fruits are distinguished by a balanced sweet and sour taste and a strong peach aroma.

The variety is zoned and recommended for cultivation in the south of the country. But the right agricultural technology allows you to get excellent yields in the middle lane, zones with moderate winters and warm, humid summers.

Characteristics of the variety

Greensboro peach, according to the description of the All-Russian Selection Institute, belongs to the table fruits. An early ripe, high-yielding variety combines winter hardiness and drought resistance, which allows you to significantly expand its cultivation areas.

Drought-resistant, frost-resistant

The crop withstands winters with temperatures below -22 °C. Greensboro peach, even in the Moscow region, according to reviews, shows excellent survival. Cases of complete recovery of the plant after freezing and death of the above-ground part (at -35 °C) to the level of snow cover have been recorded.

The drought resistance of the variety is relative. The tree does not die from a short-term drought, but the yield suffers, and the branches tend to become bare, which is why they winter badly.

Does the variety need pollinators

The Greensboro variety is self-fertile, trees can be planted in the same type of plantings. The yield is well influenced by the presence of other peaches in the garden for pollination.

Grafted on almonds, apricots, cherry plums, Greensboro is grown on difficult soils unsuitable for own rooted seedlings.

Yield and fruiting

Greensboro peach starts fruiting quickly: 2-3 years. By the age of 10, trees are gaining full strength. The maximum recorded yield from one adult peach is 67 kg.

The variety belongs to the early maturing period. In the south, Greensboro peaches ripen in July, in the black earth regions – by early August.

The palatability of the variety is estimated by experts at 4. 8 points out of 5. The content of solids in fruits reaches 12%, sugars – about 9%, acids – 0.4%, vitamin C – 6 mg per 100 g of pulp.

Fruit area

Greensboro does not keep well. From pressure, the tender flesh is deformed and darkens. Therefore, the variety is not intended for transportation over long distances and long-term storage. If necessary, transportation, the fruits are removed in technical ripeness: approximately 3-4 days before full ripening. Peaches are packed in boxes, shifting with soft, hygroscopic materials.

Disease and pest resistance

Greensboro is resistant to the main enemy of peach orchards – clasterosporium, as well as powdery mildew. In the absence of proper care and prevention, it is prone to leaf curl.

Advantages and disadvantages of

Over the centuries of cultivation, the Greensboro variety has gained undeniable recognition among gardeners for the following qualities:

  1. Early harvest.
  2. Frost resistance.
  3. Aroma and taste.
  4. Immunity to major diseases.

Disadvantages include:

  • uneven fruit size: from 70 to 120 g per tree;
  • the need for urgent use due to the rapid loss of presentation;
  • limited zoning and the need for shelter for the winter in the central regions.

The negative sides of the Greensboro peach, according to the reviews of novice gardeners, are sometimes indicated by a tendency to leaf curl, but this shortcoming is easily corrected with appropriate care.

Rules for planting peach

A seedling of a well-chosen variety suitable for the climate needs to be properly rooted. The further growth, development, fruiting of the Greensboro peach largely depends on this procedure. Timing plays an important role in planting.

Recommended planting dates

The following planting dates are recommended for tender, heat-loving Greensboro peach in different regions:

  1. In the south – in autumn (September or early October). When planted in spring, young plants suffer from heat, sunburn.
  2. In the middle lane – in autumn or spring, depending on the weather. The main criterion for planting is soil warmed up to +15 ° С.
  3. Closer to the north – only in spring, when the soil and air warm up to comfortable temperatures.

In areas with cold winters and little snow, Greensboro peaches are sheltered for the winter.

Selecting a suitable site

Choose a sunny, wind-protected site for planting a heat-loving variety, preferably without stagnant water. The best choice would be the southern slope.

Greensboro variety grows on different types of soil, it does not tolerate only acidic and saline soils. Heavy soils can be enriched with humus, mature compost with complex fertilizers. A little humus or mineral supplements are added to light soil.

Selection and preparation of planting material

It is advisable to purchase peach seedlings in special nurseries. So the purchased trees will be guaranteed to correspond to the declared varietal qualities.

Signs of a good Greensboro seedling:

  • height – from 1 to 1.5 m;
  • age – up to 2 years;
  • trunk girth approx. 2 cm;
  • smooth bark, free from spots and damage;
  • healthy, moist roots, no signs of pests.

For spring planting, the material of the Greensboro variety is shortened to 80 cm, side shoots are cut by a third. At night, the root system is placed in a solution with a growth stimulator (for example, Kornevin). In the morning the seedling is ready.

Autumn planting Greensboro involves shortening the roots, it is advisable not to prun the trunk and branches until spring. On varietal greens with leaves, they are cut off before planting. Until the peach roots begin to fully function, the load should be reduced as much as possible.

Planting algorithm

Planting site for Greensboro peach is prepared in advance. The pit is dug six months before the estimated time of work. A recess of 40×40 cm is pre-prepared. The final size will depend on the root system of the seedling.

With free crown formation, between plants should not be less than 3 m. Peach does not tolerate thickening. Row spacing is kept from 4 to 5 m wide. The tighter fit of the Greensboro is only acceptable with heavy pruning and shaping.

Peach planting step by step:

  1. A support (pole, pole) is placed in the center of the planting hole.
  2. The bottom is covered with drainage (gravel, sand) at least 10 cm thick.
  3. A mound of fertile substrate is built around the support.
  4. The seedling is arranged in the center of the hole so that the support shaded the young plant from the daytime sun.
  5. Gently spread the peach roots over a mound of earth, cover with a small layer of soil and press lightly.
  6. Water the plant with a bucket of non-cold water and wait for the moisture to be completely absorbed.
  7. At this stage, the hole can be filled completely with soil.

Leave the neck of the scion 3 cm above ground level if the Greensboro peach is to be grown in tree form. With the bush version, the grafting site is buried in the ground.

A shaft of earth is formed along the perimeter of the seat. Pour 2 buckets of water under each peach. It is advisable to immediately mulch the soil, but do not lay a moisture-saving layer close to the trunk.

Peach Aftercare

If planted in spring, Greensboro peach will swell and show leaves within 30 days.

Warning! It happens that the vegetation of the seedling does not start on time, there are no leaves all season, but the trunk remains flexible and the color of the bark is not changed. In such a dream, Greensboro can spend a whole year, and begin to develop rapidly next spring.

Pruning is the most important step in peach care. The fruiting and even successful wintering of the seedling depends on the formation of the crown and the regulation of the load. Standard techniques for pruning peaches of any variety are shown in the photo.

The Greensboro cultivar is characterized by dense fruit buds, mainly in the lower part of the growth. The branches of such varieties are shortened more than with a single arrangement of fruits on the shoot.

The goal of all maintenance measures is to increase the winter hardiness of seedlings. This principle is especially important to observe when growing Greensboro peach in the Moscow region and other central regions. Winters in the middle lane do not differ in critical frosts, but thaws are frequent, which has a bad effect on fruit buds and annual growth.

Greensboro Peach Care Features:

  1. When fertilizing in the summer, potash compounds are preferred: potassium sulfate or ash. Nitrogen top dressings (even organic ones) have a bad effect on preparing the variety for wintering.
  2. Greensboro Peach produces best fruit when watered regularly. With a lack of rain, the tree trunks should be deeply moistened every 10 days. After harvesting, it is advisable to stop watering: this will reduce the growth of branches, but increase the plant’s resistance to frost.
  3. It is useful to mulch the peach tree with a thick layer (at least 10 cm) of organic matter, such as weeds. This protects the roots from frost in winter and keeps the soil moist in summer.

Harvest rationing allows Greensboro to tolerate cold weather more easily. In the spring, when pruning, it is worth removing the weakest ovaries or thinning them out if they are too abundant. Overloaded with fruits, peaches delight in season, but often freeze out in winter.

Diseases and pests, methods of control and prevention

The resistance of Greensboro variety to most of the diseases characteristic of peach allows for less preventive treatments with chemicals. But one of the viruses requires special attention.

The disease is manifested by leaf curl and requires preventive spraying:

  • in autumn – 3% Bordeaux mixture;
  • in spring – 1% solution of the same product;
  • in case of infection – with the drug “Topaz”, diluted according to the instructions.

Garden crops with sweet fruits are often attacked by aphids, codling moth, scale insects and striped moths. Karbofos, Zolon, Atellik or other specialized insecticides are used to control peach pests.

Tip! Affected branches are recommended to be cut and burned outside the garden.

Conclusion

The Greensboro Peach is an exceptionally tender and short-lived fruit. But its excellent palatability, early harvest and winter hardiness of trees provide the variety with popularity both in the south and in temperate zones.

Reviews

Victoria Pavlovna, 37 years old, Saratov

It took a long time to choose peach – our regions are not the most southern. Stopped in Greensboro. I grow a variety not as a tree, but as a bush. So it is easier to cover for the winter. I mulch the soil with sawdust, lay branches on them, sprinkle everything with sand. You can also use lutrasil from above so that the shelter does not collapse. I was worried about the first winter – whether the variety would freeze. Now I know how to prepare peaches for winter and there is nothing more to worry about.

Pavel Gennadievich, 56 years old, Stavropol

I have more than one variety of Greensboro in my garden, there are different peaches, but this one seems to me the most fragrant. It ripens one of the first, although not very sweet, but it is able to please both children and grandchildren. Before planting, you should know that the best way to consume these peaches is to eat right by the tree. The variety is not suitable for transportation.

For the first time since the loss of the flagship of the Black Sea Fleet cruiser “Moskva” off the coast of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported the number of dead sailors for the first time, TASS reports.

– Of the members of the crew of the cruiser “Moskva”, one person died, 27 were missing. The remaining 396 crew members of the Moskva cruiser were evacuated to the ships of the Black Sea Fleet and taken to Sevastopol,” the statement said.

As a result of the fire, the missile cruiser “Moskva” was seriously damaged due to the detonation of ammunition, the crew’s attempts to extinguish the fire did not lead to a result, the Ministry of Defense stressed.

Earlier, a number of media blocked for spreading fakes about the actions of Russian troops in Ukraine reported that at least 37 people died on the cruiser. In addition, there are missing persons. The message of the Ministry of Defense refutes this information.

Information about the fire on the cruiser Moskva began to arrive on April 13 from Ukrainian officials. Aleksey Arestovich, a representative of the president’s office, said that the cruiser was hit by two Neptune anti-ship missiles. During the day, the Ministry of Defense confirmed that there was a fire and an explosion of ammunition on board the cruiser.

The ship remained afloat and was towed to the port of Sevastopol. On April 15, the Ministry of Defense announced that the cruiser Moskva sank during a storm.

The current President of France Emmanuel Macron predicts serious problems for Europe that will be associated with the likely introduction of new anti-Russian sanctions. According to the politician, if the region completely refuses gas from Russia, it may face the real consequences of this decision only in winter.

The leader of the republic reasonably believes that European states will not notice the consequences of new sanctions that may affect Russian energy resources during the warm season – in spring and summer, since now the reserves in gas storage facilities have replenish.

But next winter we will feel them if there is no more Russian gas,

– Lenta.ru quotes Macron.

Let us recall that earlier the President of France stated that the EU is not currently discussing the possibility of refusing gas from Russia. In this context, so far they are only talking about oil and fuel from the Russian Federation.

It must be said that two days before the second round of the presidential elections now underway in France, the current head of state, according to polls, increased the lead over his competitor Marine Le Pen and apparently secured re-election, writes RBC. The final vote will take place on April 24.

The Deputy Commander of the Central Military District, Major General Rustam Minnekaev , stated that the second stage of the special operation will include the establishment of full control of the Russian Army over the Donbass and the southern regions of Ukraine. He spoke about this during a speech at a meeting of the Union of Defense Industries of the Sverdlovsk Region.

Minnekayev explained that control of the territory of Donbass would make it possible to build a land corridor to Crimea and have an impact on facilities vital for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, writes Gazeta. Ru. The military also noted that control over the Ukrainian south would provide the Russian military with another outlet to Transnistria, which is very important in the current geopolitical situation.

Recall that on February 24, the leader of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special operation in Ukraine.

Even if Germany imposes an embargo on Russian gas supplies, peace will not be established in Ukraine. And the FRG and the rest of Europe do not need a serious economic crisis, which may be the result of the rejection of Russian energy resources.

This opinion was expressed by the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz , talking to Spiegel. “Lenta.ru” provides a translation of a fragment of the politician’s speech.

Note that in a conversation with a journalist, Scholz also recalled the actions of his country, designed to prevent NATO’s military involvement in the conflict in Ukraine, since such a development of events could lead to a new world war. The chancellor stressed that he intends to do everything possible to exclude the possibility of a nuclear war.

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky , along with the Belarusian oppositionist Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and ex-editor of Channel One Marina Ovsyannikova, will receive the Media Freedom Award at the Ludwig Erhard summit in Bavaria, reports the organizer of the summit, Weimer Media Group.

Vladimir Zelensky

This year’s award is dedicated to the struggle for freedom in Eastern Europe. The ceremony takes place on Friday, April 22.

– It is the Ukrainians, Belarusians, and also Russians who are at the forefront in Eastern Europe against evil, against war and tyranny, courageously defending their freedom as well as ours. Words, deeds, great courage and life, – noted the jury.

The award will be given against the backdrop of the publication of an OSCE report on the situation in Ukraine, which, among other things, notes that the mission has 127 facts (45 of them confirmed) of harsh treatment of Ukrainians, whom local security forces, the defense forces or special services suspected of sympathy to Russia.

In addition, more than 300 Ukrainian citizens have recently been arrested, whom the special services suspected of complicity with Russia – while the families of the victims are not told where their relatives are and whether they are alive.

It should be noted that in 2021, Zelensky committed a complete defeat of the media objectionable to the regime. During the year, the broadcasting of five major TV channels and online publications that criticized Volodymyr Zelensky’s policies or were associated with the opposition was immediately stopped. We are talking about sanctions against the products of media mogul Taras Kozak and the TV channels 112 Ukraine, NewsOne and ZIK, as well as Pershiy Nezalezhny and UkrLive.

In addition, on February 11, 2022, the NASH TV channel of the former People’s Deputy Yevgeny Muraev, who previously expressed solidarity with Kozak’s closed media and aired in support of them, also fell under sanctions for a period of 5 years.

A discussion club of the same name has been opened in Moscow on Sparrow Hills, which will help develop mechanisms for reconfiguring the national economy of the Russian Federation to a new reality. The first round of discussions has already taken place. This was reported on the official website of one of the initiators of the project and the author of the KURS program, Vice Speaker of the State Duma Alexander Babakov .

Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the VIII convocation Alexander Mikhailovich Babakov and head of the Just Russia – For Truth faction in the State Duma Sergei Mironov

The opening of the discussion club was also attended by Chairman of A Just Russia – For Truth Sergey Mironov , Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergey Glazyev , Co-Chairman of the SRHR Gennady Semigin , and First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Alexander Zhukov 905 . Alexander Babakov :

Chairman of the SRHR Sergey Mironov in his speech also noted that the world has changed after the start of the special military operation and there will be no return to the past.

We must have a mobilization, anti-sanction economy. You don’t have to be afraid of it. We cannot live as before February 24,

– said Sergei Mironov.

Sergey Mironov. Photo: duma.gov.ru

One of the main topics of the forum was the discussion of the pros and cons of targeted emission and large state investments in the economy, as well as the risks of hyperinflation. SRZP co-chairman Gennady Semigin drew attention to the need for such discussions, noting that the government, especially the Central Bank, is ossified and does not accept progressive ideas.

Silence and deafness in the management of the Central Bank is present. Some sit in government for eight years and believe that they know everything. And they don’t want to listen to anything,

– Semigin was indignant.

Sergey Glazyev, in turn, pointed out the fallacy of the paradigm of the financial and economic block on the issue of inflation: that hyperinflation 19The 90s was caused, among other things, by uncontrolled emission.

Prominent economists, politicians and deputies of the State Duma spoke at the meeting. The members of the club intend to work together to develop effective solutions to create a sovereign, growing and stable economic system in Russia.

The German edition of Welt published the opinion of the columnist Elmar Krekeler , who accused the Russian serial cartoon of propaganda Masha and the Bear . He stated that the girl Masha looks like “the crying old women of Mariupol”, and the work as a whole transmits the image of “Western decline”.

A frame from the cartoon “Masha and the Bear”

At the same time, as writes URA . RU , the second protagonist of the series, the Bear, was subjected to the most ruthless criticism from the German. According to the journalist, the creators deliberately presented him as “sweet and tolerant” so that “children in the West do not hate Russia so much.”

Cultural analysis led the author of the article to the conclusion that, in addition to old women, Masha is called upon to personify “Western decline” in the work, since she is periodically harshly criticized by a conservative (Medved). At the same time, Masha appears before the public as an “anarchist champion of feminism.”

Krekeler himself, obviously, is well versed in the methods of PR and propaganda, as he very far-sightedly advises the authorities not to impose a ban on Masha and the Bear, which will only help “Russian propaganda.”

In addition, the German journalist expressed the bold idea that it is not necessary to ban Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy or Tchaikovsky . Nevertheless, both Russian writers and Russian composers are now successfully banned in the West. The absurdity of Russophobic statements at the same time often has a pronounced caricature character and borders on the level of artistic expressiveness with the masterful images created by Russian satirists.

State Duma deputy Oleg Matveychev proposes limiting the work of grocery hypermarkets on Sundays in order to create an incentive for the development of farmers’ markets.

Photo: yarnovosti.com

According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, a letter containing proposals on this matter has already been sent to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov .

According to the parliamentarian, if people are temporarily banned from going to hypermarkets, citizens will begin to visit convenience stores and fairs more often. This is likely to give impetus to the development of subsidiary farms.

Matveychev believes that the work of food fairs now either comes down to the theme of “ecological food”, or has a local character. At the same time, weekend fairs are open in the capital, attended by farmers from more than 40 regions of the country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan published another “Blue Book on Diplomacy”, in which they called, in their opinion, the “disputed islands” of the Kuril chain “illegally occupied.” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of this country has already used this designation in relation to the South Kuriles, the last time was in 2003.

View of the northern territories from space and Japan’s idea of the border line

According to the Kyodo news agency, the diplomats made such a decision because of the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine.
