Required Background Checks (Live Scan)
The California Health and Safety Code requires a background check of all applicants, licensees, adult residents, volunteers under certain conditions and employees of community care facilities who have contact with clients. When an individual submits fingerprints, the California Department of Justice (DOJ) conducts a background check.
One of our California Live Scan Fingerprinting Centers is just minutes away from both Southern Child Care Area Office and Los Angeles Northwest Office. We are located off Bristol Parkway and Hannum Avenue. Walk-ins are welcomed.

The DOJ will only accepts electronically transmitted fingerprint images (Live Scan) and related information to process the background investigation requests. Live Scan technology electronically transfers images of fingerprints and personal information to the DOJ (and in some case to the FBI).
The results of the fingerprint check are sent electronically to Community Care Licensing Division (CCLD).

The Company, classified as an education or learning center, works to help students with learning disabilities and their families. Highly credentialed staff customize programs that teach reading and writing (among other skills) to achieve the child’s maximum academic potential.

Some of the classes and programs are offered at the conveniently located center, while others are done online via Zoom. In addition, about half of the business’s revenue comes from customized homeschooling programs.
Personalized plans are based on an initial consultation and test scores. The team devises a plan for treatment and defines goals.

Facilities: The Company operates from a modern commercial building in an upscale community. Rent for the 2,600 square foot space with parking is $9,800 per month. The lease runs through May 2023.
Competition: The special education community in California has blossomed with many therapy gyms and new “learning” franchises. These Sellers are educators who went into business to provide individualized programs that help students overcome specific challenges. Those new to the learning and test prep industry are business people going into education.
