Chester hospital nurse arrested on suspicion of killing eight babies. News. Channel One

Another high-profile story in the UK hit the world media. Massacre at the Chester Hospital. And the victims were babies.

Safety, safety and more safety. This is a promo video with the participation of the medical staff of the main hospital in the county of Cheshire – the name of the Countess of Chester. The medical institution has repeatedly been included in the main rating of trust of the public health service. The hospital is equipped with the most modern medical equipment for nursing children born prematurely. Caring staff.

Now the main question is how a nurse, who is now suspected of mass murder of babies, worked in the team of these smiling people for several years.

The cause for initiation of the case was a study of mortality among newborns in the country. The countess of Chester’s hospital had the highest rates. Later, the head physician of the hospital contacted the police. He asked that the unexplained deaths of infants be investigated.

“It was a very responsible and difficult task. We interviewed most of the hospital staff. As a result of the investigation, one medical worker was arrested. The killer nurse’s list of victims may not be final. There are currently 17 suspicious infant deaths under investigation in the past year and a half. In addition, 15 more strange cases that did not end in death.

What kind of evidence was found – the police do not report. They do not say how the crimes were committed, and who is the arrested person. However, journalists managed to figure out her name. Lucy Letby is a 28-year-old neonatal nurse. She lives in a small house near the hospital. There they noticed the investigators, presumably conducting the search.

The girl has a bachelor’s degree in childcare. Friendly, helpful and seemed to love her job very much. For example, she participated in a massive fundraising campaign to build a new children’s department. She lived alone with two cats.

The hospital management does not comment on the arrested employee. Meanwhile, social media users are horrified to recognize in the published photos a nurse who at various times cared for their babies.

Journalists compare this case to the murder of four babies, which shocked England at 91st year. Nurse Beverly Alitt was found guilty. The motives of the “Angel of Death”, as she was called in the media, remained a mystery. However, if the guilt of Lucy Letby is proved in all episodes, she will go down in the history of Great Britain as the most bloodthirsty serial killer of babies.

And now everything is unfolding against the backdrop of another grandiose scandal – around the Hampshire county hospital.
