Balancing Work and Family with the support of the Pollywog Program

Whether you are expecting a new baby or have your children at home while you work during this pandemic, you may need child care. Family Connections can help! If you’re wanting in-home, family-based care, Pollywog Program is where you can find it.

Located at LBCC, we are the child care resource and referral for Linn, Benton, and Lincoln Counties. We have resources and information that we can share with you.

The Pollywog Program serves families with young children and we have extended those services to include school age children during the pandemic.

Services include:

  • Child care referrals

  • COVID-19 resources for families

  • At-home ideas for families

  • Parent education

  • Classes/workshops

The new eLearning “Identifying and Responding to Anaphylaxis” is now available in English and Spanish. 

We’re pleased to announce the availability of two new eLearnings. The “Identifying and Responding to Anaphylaxis:
Elijah’s Law” course has been updated in both English and Spanish. The new versions are titled “Identifying and
Responding to Anaphylaxis” and “Identificando y Respondiendo a la Anafilaxia”. These courses have been revised to
reflect the expansion of OCFS’s non-patient-specific epinephrine-auto injector initiative.
You can read more about it in the Dear Provider Letter here.
Licensed and registered programs may now receive 3 epinephrine auto-injector packs (2 injectors, 1 training device in
each pack). These packs are available in the following doses: infant/toddler, child, and older child/teen/adult.

The courses have been expanded to include information on the availability of the new doses and how to get them.
As a result, they now provide 1.5 hours of training in the following OCFS training topics:

  • Principles of Childhood Development
  • Nutrition and Health
  • Safety and Security Procedures
  • Business Record Maintenance and Management

Nos place anunciar la disponibilidad de dos nuevos cursos de eLearning.
El curso “Identificando y Respondiendo a la Anafilaxia: Ley de Elijah” ha sido actualizado al inglés y al español.
Las nuevas versiones se titulan “Identifying and Responding to Anaphylaxis” e “Identificando y Respondiendo a la
Anafilaxia”. Estos cursos han sido revisados para reflejar la expansión de la iniciativa del autoinyector de
epinefrina no específico al paciente de OCFS. Usted puede leer más sobre esto en la carta de Estimado Proveedor aquí.

Dr. Ejaz is board certified in general pediatrics and endocrinology. She completed her fellowship in Pediatric Endocrinology at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, New York. She has experience treating pediatric patients with the following conditions:

Dr. Constantatos is certified in pediatrics. He attended St. George’s University School of Medicine. Dr. Konstanatos completed his residency at the Nassau University Pediatrics Medical Center. He has extensive experience in pediatric emergency care and also provides general pediatric care in the community.
Charles Coren MD
Pediatric Surgery
Dr. Coren is a board certified pediatric surgeon. He attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Cincinnati, Ohio and a residency in general surgery at New York University. Dr. Coren received a Fellowship at the SUNY Center for Health Sciences in Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Koren’s clinical interests and experience include the surgical treatment of congenital and acquired anomalies/diseases of the neck, chest, abdomen, anorectum, and soft tissues in children (newborns to adolescents as young as 17 years of age), including but not limited to:

Dr. Dole received her Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland.

Neurology and Pediatric Neurology
Dr. Kadakia is Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology at SUNY Stony Brook and Associate Associate Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at NYCOM. Dr. Kadakia is also the director of neuroscience education at NUMC for SUNY Stony Brook and AUC medical students. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Kadakia has experience treating pediatric patients with the following conditions:

Abdul Khan, MD, Professor
Pediatric Nephrologist
Dr. Khan is a Board Certified Pediatric Nephrologist from King Georges College of Medicine in Lucknow, India. He specializes in the treatment of kidney disorders including, but not limited to, hydronephrosis, hypertension, renal dysplasia, nephritis, nephropathy, nephrotic syndrome, congenital polycystic kidney disease, and calcium metabolic disorders.

Dr. Kosuri specializes in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. She attended medical school at Andhra Medical College, Andhra Pradesh, India and completed her residency at Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center, West Islip, New York. Dr. Kosuri completed her fellowship at Nassau University Medical Center, East Meadow, New York.

Dr. Tempel is a pediatric gastroenterologist who treats children with all types of digestive problems. She received her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. Dr. Young received her MD from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva Univ. in 1980. Dually trained in Medicine and Pediatrics at Albany Medical Center, she completed an Allergy/Immunology Fellowship at the National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine in Denver, Colorado. Works in Pediatrics and Allergy/Immunology, currently Director of Pediatrics. Allergy/Immunology at the Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) in East Meadow, NY and Associate Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. She is currently Director of CME at NUMC, which has recently become an accredited continuing medical education provider. Dr. Yang is the director of the NUMC Children’s Asthma Allergy Clinic, where the patient will receive a comprehensive evaluation, a thorough physical examination for allergies, and a comprehensive treatment regimen. She has experience treating children with the following conditions:

    Brand new 65 room hotel and Suites opened April 2017! All rooms feature cooking and laundry facilities. Studios and One bedrooms have a cook-top only while the 2 bedroom apartments also have a full size oven. Ramada Suites Albany is part of the Wyndham Group which is the largest hotel chain in the world and offers the Wyndham Rewards Loyalty program.
